Great, flavorful food. The BLT (and yes, this isn't some crazy 20-ingredient item) is exceptional. The best. Perfect bread, a generous mound of bacon, perfect. Pro tip: get it with the spicy crema. And I'm not sure what the "sparse" comment in another review is talking about. I'm a big guy who can EAT and about a quarter of the time I can't finish the sandwich. Big portions for sandwich IMO The people are the friendliest, nicest restaurant folks I've ever met. This place is treasure. read more

Heard about this place for a while and never been. Finally one day I was in the area and decided to get some breakfast. I had the grit bowl with bacon as my choice of meat. It consist of grits, eggs, potatoes, cheese and your choice meat. I have no complaints. It was a very hearty filling bowl. Well seasoned. And best part it was reasonably priced. I mean This bowl cost less than my latte at a nearby coffee shop so...... And it was pretty quick. Nothing fancy but you really can't beat it. I recently discovered this place when I was visiting another restaurant next door and I was determined to come to Pagoda one day when I saw so many positive reviews. I got a grilled cheese sandwich, guava cream puff, and blue eyes iced tea to go. Everything was so fresh and filling. They also elegantly make their teas by offering option to add in rose or lavender in them. Moreover, the staff her were so polite and addressed me by my name when my stuff it was all ready to be picked up. Hope to come try their famous breakfast tacos here one day! read more

I visited Pagoda with some friends for a mid-morning snack. I had the mushroom turnover with an iced green tea and my friends both had the sausage roll. These hand-held snacks were small but exactly what we needed! The mushroom turnover was flavorful and the pastry was perfect. My friends liked the sausage rolls too! We took our food to go but there is outside seating available under a covered patio. Be patient and prepared to wait as they are popular! I would definitely return. read more

This was our favorite spot to pick up breakfast on our trip. This cafe is super cute and has a lot of outdoor seating. You order at the counter and wait for your food at a table. It takes maybe 5-10 minutes for your order to be ready unless you are just ordering already made pastries. We love breakfast tacos and these are decent and packed full. The salsa is a must. We also had the banana nutella bread which was a huge, decadent slice. They have a bunch of other yummy sounding pastries and sandwiches, but I couldn't say no to a breakfast taco! I highly recommend this place if you are looking to a somewhat quick breakfast. read more

Great place to have something for breakfast or lunch. It's all outdoor seating. Food is excellent. I loved the BLT. (But I'm not sure why they put it on a french roll and not sandwich bread. Anyway, the customer service is great and the food and drinks are delicious. A great afternoon would be to go down the street to Community Book Store (see the wonderful Afrocentic books and say hi to Ms. Vera) and enjoy something at Pagoda. First time here, really nice atmosphere, great seating area outside while you wait or eat there. Bacon Taco tasted amazing with fluffy eggs and great bacon! There is no picture because I ate it all before that even crossed my mind. Also had an Americano with half & half for my walk. Rather disappointed in the "speed" of service last few times I've been here. Sure the food is good, the cashier is awesome but there's A LOT to be desired in terms of however the Hell their ticket system is. I'm typing this as I'm still sitting here waiting over 45 minutes for coffee and tacos. It's not like there's much on the tacos: eggs, potatoes, cheese. I've watched a table of eight finish their entire meals before their drinks came out. Not sure how they prioritize orders but how about, as the ticket is put in, you work on finishing that ticket before moving onto the next? I dunno. These past few experiences has put this place way down on my list of choices for when I want something "quick" for breakfast and in this heat, my tolerance for having to wait damn near an hour for something I could've whipped up myself at home three times over in the same amount of time is far from appealing. read more

You're so cute with your porch deck and Spanish tile roof but the your food is just meh! Seriously the sausage in the sausage roll was dry and the phyllo dough is bland and needs more butter and what is up with the dipping sauce? The bacon taco whole hardy is just ok. Listen up! I'd eat here everyday if I could afford it. These breakfast tacos DO NOT MISS. I had the regular taco, the tofu taco, and the bacon taco. All three slapped and the green sauce that accompanied pulled it all together. The coffee gave what it needed to as well. There's no indoor seating. There's plenty of outdoor seating and most of it is covered. The also had a heater on in the covered area. I was with my toddler for the day and she loved the fresh fruit cup and her hot chocolate milk. I have to go back alone so I can try some other food items. Y'all don't sleep on this gem. They're only open for breakfast and lunch. We waited less than 10 minutes for our food and the service was great. read more

We regularly grab some tacos (two flour, two corn tortilla, all with bacon) and coffee (and a cowgirl cookie or two) and dine on the covered patio area. They offer gluten free options, vegetarian, pork or turkey bacon. I think there is even a vegan option. The jalapeño salsa is EVERYTHING!!! I recently moved in this area and I stopped by for lunch. I ordered 2 Tofu Tacos & Let me tell you.. they were So delicious!! I'm from New Orleans so I had to ask if the tacos would be seasoned lol. I'm also pescatarian so I'm a huge fan of tofu!! The tacos were stuffed with seasoned tofu, seasoned potatoes, eggs & cheese. I love a good cheese pull and this taco was giving!!! I ordered two and they gave me one salsa for two tacos and the container isn't even 5% of the way full. If I didn't get it to go I would have went back to the window. We live in Mid City just a few minutes bike ride from here, and we have been coming up to get bread from Leo Bread (just across) for quite some time. We noticed that people were ALWAYS coming by to get food and drinks from Pagoda, and decided to grab a late breakfast the other day. Well, that was a game changer, for sure. This place is just killer. First, the folks that work here are so great. Just such nice and welcoming people! That is always nice to have. Second, their coffees are RIGHTEOUS. Seriously, best cold brew I've had in Nola. The Cafe au Lait was good too, according to my wife. Then, the food - the breakfast tacos are really tasty and full of eggs and such, the sausage roll was awesome and really filling, and the mushroom and sweet potato turnover was interesting (not our favorite, but good, really - just personal taste). I love this coffee spot. There was plenty of street parking. I got my usual iced matcha latte and it was pretty good. They have a great menu of coffee and noncoffee and food items. I also really enjoyed their sausage roll and bacon burrito. Good portions and prices in my opinion. They have a good COVID safe system of ordering at a window then picking up at a table. Right now they are not allowing consuming your food on location which is fine by me. I will be coming back often, can't wait to try more things!!! read more

It is unfortunate but my experience has not been positive with this place. I work nearby. I was told that the service is slow before I visited but it is also rude as well. ( Why people believe slow service is ok I don't know). 4 people are working there. I waited almost 3in before someone even took my order. Even after I said Hi. I asked for their pastry selections when they did help you would have thought that was my fault. They had no names and the pastries were behind their heads.
