Me and my friend drove around the classic artsy area of New Orleans City Park and we fell upon this gem. It's quietly tucked behind the New Orleans Museum of Art. Upon entry through a hidden away side door (avoid the museum fee) the decor is so elegant, bright and inviting. Perfect for a single trip or a girls trip. It is definitely a nice place to sit and chit chat while being emerged in beautiful scenery. We didn't get a chance to try any of the food but if it's a reflection of what the drinks taste like, I'm sure it's a slam dunk. They had the bomb service, smothered in grand smiles. The barista was definitely giving five star energy so I'm sure they're serious about their craft. I can't say anything more about the location besides, visit soon! If you can go early in the day it's possible to have it all to yourself and soak in all they have to offer (vibes, views, ans service). read more

Cute little hangout place on the 1st floor of NOMA. Pro tip you don't have to pay for the museum to go tot he cafe just let security know and they'll give you a pass or sticker to go back there. The food is a bit pricey but for the quality and the view it is pretty amazing. It's order/pay at the counter and they bring hot food to your table when it's done but it's not full service. read more

A bit pricy, which doesn't surprise me for museum food, but really good. You can enter directly into the cafe up from the sculpture garden. You can also enter from the main entrance without having to pay to enter the museum. We hit it at the right time and did not have wait in line to place our order. I got the cranberry spritz and the NOMA Ranch Salad. My husband got a Hazy IPA and an order of Naked Fries. My salad and drink were both delicious. The fries were deemed ok. Service was good - our meals were brought to our table quickly. The large open area was clean and filled with lots of diffused light and view of the sculpture garden. I recommend this nice cafe when visiting the museum and/or the park. read more

We came to the NOMA to see the prohibition exhibit. We were happily surprised to find a cafe. We were there on a Saturday in December around Noon and it was busy, but there was still plenty of seating. We had just done a Cemetery tour and were looking for somewhere to get off our feet before seeing the exhibit. This was the perfect place to sit awhile and get some nourishment before heading to Cafe Du Monde for some dessert. Prices are reasonable. Especially for a museum cafe. Much cheaper than our museum cafe. They had a special going for $15 you could get a cup of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The soup was hot and delicious and perfect for dipping the cold grilled cheese sandwich in it. The sandwich was sub par. It was dry and cold. I wouldn't reccomend it or order it again. I was happy to have a meal. I would come to the cafe again. Next time I'd order the veggie quiche. My husband had the veggie quiche and I tried it and it was delicious. The crust was so light and flackery. He also got the tomato soup. The fries also looked good, but we didn't try them. You don't have to buy a ticket to visit the cafe. It's open to the public and has a separate entrance in addition to the entrance from the museum. I am so thankful for the cafe. The park is huge and I am not aware of another place to eat in the park besides Cafe Du Monde. It's a bit of a hike to one of the restaurants across the street from the park. We entered through the main entrance and there was no restaurants by that entrance. All there is, is a gas station and the Cemetery NOMA Cafe for a win. read more

My experiences with museum restaurants are that they are expensive and mediocre in quality, due to the fact that they have a captive audience, who can't complain by going elsewhere. This cafe inside the New Orleans Museum of Art has a captive audience, as the nearest food is more than half a mile away. Once you drive away you've out of parking space for the day. Signs say scan this QR code for the menu. I scan it, and choose the Spring bowl with shrimp, and wife wants the jerk chicken flatbread. Long line at 130pm on a Sunday at the counter where you order your food, pay for it, and get a number. Turns out that the online menu is out of date with our choices replaced by vegetarian choices. 2 of the 3 salads, 2 of the 3 bowls, and 2 of the 3 flatbreads are vegetarian, despite less than 10% of the population being vegetarian. We get the last available table, and wait 17 minutes for our new orders to be filled. Staff cannot keep up with clearing the tables -and they want the full 20% tip, despite you have to stand in line to order, just like fast food style. Wife gets the $16 Margherita flatbread, which is a rectangular pizza with sliced tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella. I get the $16 BBQ pork flatbread, with shredded pork, mozzarella, BBQ sauce, red onions and sliced sweet pickles. The BBQ sauce is very similar to tomato sauce, and there are too few onions to affect the taste. They skimp on the shredded pork, with just a few strands on each of the 8 pieces. Hot right out of the oven. Got to be eaten before they cool down, as can't take it home, won't get back for hours. Liked the dough when it was hot, not so much once it cooled down, as got tough and chewy, needing a knife and fork. Very filling. Food is decent and hot, service is poor, shortage of staff is apparent, and prices double the $8 flatbread pizza listed on Yelp. Why have signs telling you to read the menu off the QR code, when the online menu items we want are not available? Would have loved the Spring Bowl with shrimp and the Jerk chicken compared to the what we got. read more

Tried this recently with a friend. I've been to NOMA many times but didn't know there was such a cool little Cafe attached. We both got the spicy shrimp poke bowl. I was actually pleased I didn't have to choose thw toppings this time as it always feels like a lot of pressure. I liked almost everything on it, with the exception of the seaweed (it's a texture thing). The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, the the sauces were great, and the quinoa was actually enjoyable despite the fact that I seriously dislike it for the most part. Love that they added edamame and almonds, two of my favorite things. We also got pastries to take home. The almond croissant was divine, as was the oatmeal cranberry cookie. I would go back just for more of those! read more

I ate here when Noma had Japan Fest. They had some special menu items which I was excited to try. The portion sizes and huge and you can probably split most things on the menu. I had a flatbread which was super yummy and we had special fries which were amazing! The other guest had the turkey club and it was great! We both tried the basil lemonade. It was okay but I didn't taste the basil and the overall flavor was lighter than I preferred. They have some really good looking bakery items if you only want a small snack. Pricing was moderate but the food was worth it in my opinion. I'd love to dine here again on a more laid back day. read more

We stopped here while we were exploring City Park on our way to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. It was offseason so the park restrooms were closed and we had forgotten our water bottles at home. The museum wasn't on our agenda for the day, but we were able to enter the cafe separately. There was a tidy restroom around the corner and we grabbed a quick snack from the cafe. It was of course a little pricey as museum food can be, but the chocolate chip cookie I got was thick af and so tasty. Totally worth it. I'm sorry to say the food here was really subpar both for New Orleans and for museum cafes generally. The gumbo was just OK--nice and warm on a cold day. But the flatbread wasn't cooked properly. The inside was doughy and raw. The beets salad was more or less a bad of arugula: unimaginative and pretty dry. I will say that the chocolate chip/caramel cookie we had a little later with some coffee was delicious. But overall, I wish we'd gone somewhere else for lunch. read more

The cafe recently rolled out a new menu and after working a private event inside the museum last Friday, I couldn't help but go back asap to try the offerings! My gal pal and I had the basil lemonade for drinks and the vegetable panini and turkey club (melt?) on ciabatta. The sandwiches were hefty so no additional sides were needed although the truffle fries look amaaaaaazing! I KILLED my sandwich; so ooey and gooey-and the bread! Wonderful bread! We hadn't quite satiated our hunger though-we loooove food so we ordered two flatbreads to go and swapped halves so we would each get a taste. We tried the Figgy Gorgonzola and the "Into the woods" with roasted mushrooms, garlic bechamel, truffle oil, arugula and Parmesan! Hot damn it was good. So, go to the museum and be sure to fuel up in the cafe. read more

Excellent experience. Stopped by for lunch and finally had some vegetables on this trip. We had the Greek and the shrimp salad, both great, and the Parmesan French fries. The portions are huge. And the white sangria was some of the best I had. So happy we found this place. read more

A nice break during the visit to the museum. I know some have reviewed this as being pricey and having other options outside, but I felt the price was in line with the quality of the food. You order at the counter and are given a number to take to your table. The meal is brought out to you. I recommend sitting in the atrium. The cafe side of the doors was a little distracting with the order line and people coming in and out of the side door. I had the Spicy Shrimp Poké Bowl, which I thought was a well put together bowl full of fresh, Asian flavors. My friend had the NOMA Ranch Salad, which looked delicious. Viewing (and understanding) the menu was a little confusing, as half of the menu is on each side of the column. As you're standing in line you only understand one half of the menu, then you pull up to the register, and have seconds to grasp the other half as you try to order. read more

After a few hours looking at art, we needed a little respite. We thought maybe a little drink would hit the spot. However........ A nice choice of wine, spirits, specialty drinks and standard sodas available. The menu though, so many interesting choices. We decided on the cheese board and the beet sliders. My friend and sleeping baby chose a seat on the long red banquet. I wait in the growing line. Hot tip for all : if you're in a long line, take that time to know exactly what you want. Second Hot tip: have a plan B. I get to the front, I'm ready. The cheese board, beet sliders, 2 pomegranate ice teas and a sparkling water. Uh oh.....panic in the kitchen. They're out of the cheese board. No problem, two tomato bisques and 2 orders of bread. The gal at counter thanked me......thanked me? She said thank you for being so understanding and knowing what else you wanted. And through a fate unforeseen, it was the perfect combination. The soup was delicious, the bread was hot, we had a whole conversation about the beet sliders. I enjoyed our meal and the time spent there. We have been to Cafe NOMA at least 10 times,, and have enjoyed the food. This past Sunday, however, was an extreme disappointment. Yes, there was a crowd but no more than on many other days. I ordered the mushroom and truffle flatbread; my wife ordered the Buddha Bowl. Both were borderline inedible. With no exaggeration, I carried the bad taste and the poor consistency with me all day. The flatbread was doughy and undercooked. The Buddha Bowl was a mess, with each element presented as a glop, both unappetizing and bad-tasting. The sparkling water was a godsend under these circumstances. Some experiences are so bad that, as good as other meals were, there is no going back. This is that experience. read more

Stopped in to Café NOMA for the first time to grab some breakfast. I've been watching construction take place around it for a year or so. It looks so nice and new inside in the little eat-in courtyard. You can access the cafe without paying the entrance fee to the museum. That staff were very friendly and masked up. Pineapple mimosas were a surprise as I've never seen that before. The lemon icebox pie was delicious. Sweet and tart with a chewy crust on the bottom. I bet all their pastries are great. The kitchen doesn't open until 11 so I'll have to go back to try some of the other things on the menu like Thai fries or Spicy Shrimp Poké bowl. read more

Food not bad. Waiting in line for ordering is. I was 40-45 minutes standing. I regretted the torturous wait too late, so I swallowed the bitter pill and stayed. Service otherwise was solicitous: There was fast afoot delivery of the goods after the ordeal. I suggest online ordering for the museum goers. A pick up time can be convened. Self-serving kiosks are an alternative when hunger is greater than gourmand-ship and simpler dishes will do. I hope to try the nice menu again when I visit the well appointed New Orleans Museum of Art again. read more

For a museum cafe, Café NOMA is amazing and surpasses all expectations! They have an Egyptian-centered menu that surrounds the current Exhibit they have the museum, which I think is really cool! Also, the food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Koshary Bowl, which had lentils, white rice, chickpeas, a cumin-tomato sauce & topped with crispy onions! What a great spot for a Brennan's restaurant! Cafe NOMA is located inside the New Orleans Museum of Art, is tastefully decorated, and the prices are pretty reasonable. My mom and I stopped in for lunch today, and had a really nice time. It's a counter service restaurant, so you place your order and have a seat in their brightly lit dining room. There are floor to ceiling windows, and each table is graced with fresh flowers. The prices were very reasonable. My mom had the pizza of the day, I had a beet slider and a cup of rosemary-potato soup, and we each had an iced tea. Our total was right at $26. Her pizza (mushroom, bacon, green onion, Marsala sauce, mozzarella and cheddar) was delicious, as was my beet slider (herbed goat cheese, a thick slice of roasted beet on a multi-grain roll), and my rosemary potato soup. One gripe - When we finished our iced teas no one came to refill them. I added a $5 tip, because I thought there would be someone to bring refills or check on our table occasionally, but maybe that's not accurate. My mom eventually walked to the counter to ask about the refills, and they sent someone over a couple of minutes later with a pitcher of fresh, cold tea. Overall, it was a good experience. We stopped in because the location is perfect (within the Museum and City Park). The food was fine-ish. I was warned multiple times about how spicy the blackened shrimp Caesar was. But, it was laughably bland. I have had tastier plain Caesar. I had my daughter and husband verify that I wasn't losing my mind. This place is perfect as far as I'm concerned. It's located inside of NOMA (the coolest spot in the city) in City Park (City Park is majorly awesome) AND it's a Brennan's property. You just don't get more New Orleans than this. It's so nice to stop in and eat a little snack while watching the things going on in the park through the big picture windows. The BBQ Chicken Sliders were so good and service was, of course, impeccable. The best part, though, was the bell hanging from a satin bow on every chair stamped with "Cafe NOMA" to take home. I appreciated the salty beet salad with the exception of a few "salt bombs" - as if a few clumps had randomly dislodged from a shaker. I waited in a line while someone was refunded for a falafel sandwich she didn't like. My companion confirmed that her falafel was also very dry and not at all flattering to real Mediterranean food. Very disappointed with this place.... Drove all the way here to enjoy good food. First of all the place is in the middle of construction and there is no nice view. You have to order everything at the counter. Nobody welcomes you and takes care of your orders. Asked for a latte they brought me a latte.. except it was really cold. I asked them to warm it up for me because you know you don't pay 4$ for nothing... they brought it back to me so hot that I burned my tongue.. and they messed up the entire foam and the cup had spillage all over it. The salmon bruschetta was probably the only good thing. If food is good I will say so. Delicious. The rest of the food was horrible. I love seafood and I would never leave a shrimp on my plate... the salad they brought me was beyond disgusting... it was not fresh... tomatoes were soggy and the shrimp omg... the thought of it makes me sick.. it smelled like chlorine and tasted like chlorox... Because this is touted as a Ralph Brennan venture, and knowing that he has a reputation in New Orleans for having high class restaurants, several of them, I was expecting class. But, this is a cafe in the museum. Not that it's a bad thing, but, I should have had lower expectations. Not gutter low, but not as high as I had. You order from the menu at the counter and seat yourself. I would expect a bit more extensive of a menu, but it is lacking somehow. I had the French dip sandwich, my mother had the chicken salad sandwich, my father had half a chicken salad sandwich and the soup. They both enjoyed their meals. I found the French dip to be a bit salty. You do get lovely views of the lake. The restaurant is neat, clean, and the service was nice. The waitress was quite lovely. read more
