I needed a coffee fix while grabbing some poke at Ono's Seafood and conveniently Pai Cafe was located in the neighboring plaza. Like the small parking lot, this cafe was small but warm and welcoming. The Velvet Cream Cold Brew and the Hawaiian Latte were the two signature cups that caught my eye. Thankfully the friendly barista was nice enough to help with my decision making and since I like my coffee strong instead of sweet, he suggested the Velvet Cold Brew. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Velvet Cold Brew was. The barista described the velvet cream as similar to Starbucks' cold foam. Similar and better in my opinion, as the foam was smooth and very creamy. The cold brew was perfect and after a good stir to blend the foam into the cold brew, I had a perfect drink. Throughout my drive, I kept complimenting how good the drink was and how I should've ordered more so I wouldn't have to share. First look. It is such a cute cafe. I saw cookies and scones on display for customers to purchase along with smoothies and coffees. People were sitting at tables and enjoying each other's conversations and food. I felt tropical, so I ordered the Tropical Smoothie. They blend mango. Pineapple, banana, apple juice and soy. A very cute cafe with a nice mix of different flavored drinks! Super cozy and I can see myself definitely being able to get some work done. The service was nice and answered all the questions I had for them. The drink itself tasted nice but I got a normal drink. I'll definitely try a different drink next time. read more

if you're looking for real matcha with a strong matcha taste this probably isn't the place for you. i ordered a honey rose matcha and it had clumps and came out pretty fast which does tell me that it's not made the traditional way. the rose syrup was well made but it did overpower the matcha itself. i'd say it's a good starter(?) place for those who aren't as familiar with matcha and like it more as a background taste. i did like the acai bowl a lot though and it did fill me up. creamy, smooth, & naturally sweet but not the kind that makes you feel sick if you eat it first thing in the morning lol. i still need to try other things on the menu but so far nothing crazy that stands out to me about this place yet. read more

OVERALL: I love Pai Cafe! You go to a coffee shop for... COFFEE and Pai Cafe has great coffee! VALUE/SELECTION: Their menu includes teas, smoothies, and scones. You must try their Portuguese Sausage and Onion Scone... SO GOOD and homemade by the owner's wife! Crispy outside, moist and savory inside. SERVICE: The owner does a great job caring for each drink that is ordered. You can tell they care about your coffee. AMBIANCE: There is seating indoors and a few chairs outside. They do provide free wifi. Nice touch of music, but wouldn't come to have a sit-down conversation. It's great if you need to plug in your headphones to get some work done or read a book. Just went for their lemon earl grey tea scone and was not disappointed! The lemon glaze adds the perfect touch! If you arent a fan of tart/lemon you might not like it since the glaze is tarty, but i love lemon so i loved it! read more

I saw these amazing scones across social media and had to check them out. Pai cafe is near Ono Seafood in Kapahulu. Its in a small shopping center so if you want to parking I would suggest to go when they open, plus they do run out of their homemade scones fast. It is a small cafe, but the safe are so friendly and really treat you like you're family. We ordered the Honey Rose Matcha and the Hawaiian Latte. The Honey Rose Matcha had the perfect balance of sweetness from the honey rose but still had such a strong matcha flavor. The Hawaiian Latte was a little sweet for my taste, but the espresso was nice and strong which I enjoyed. For food we ordered the acai bowl and the blueberry and tomato basil stone. The acai base itself was nice and firm and I loved all the toppings on it. I think the best thing was the scones. The scones were nice and fully but still had a nice crunchy outer layer. You can definitely tell they were made with love and care. Pai cafe is definitely worth the buzz and you need to pick up on of their scones or baked goods if you go and check them out. read more

My favorite cafe here! I absolutely love the owners they are super sweet and always leave me smiling. The coffee is great quality but I always get the lavender honey matcha which is huge for me to say since I usually get coffee no matter what. Their baked goods taste like home in the best way. Scones! First of all, they are actually scones. Most places sell things they claim to be scones but are either super sweet and cakey or super hard and dry. These scones are legit scones. Second, they are delicious! My daughter and I walked there from Waikiki (roughly 20ish mins) 2 days in a row because they are totally worth it. Third, super unique flavors! Stopped by after eating lunch nearby since I saw this spot on social media and wanted an iced matcha latte. The matcha quality was pretty good and definitely a nice vibrant green color. I did not like the oatmilk they used so I would recommend any other milk alternative they have (they use Kirkland oat which imo tastes like soy milk, not their fault but any other oat milk brand would be a better option by far). The service was nice and friendly and for noon on a Wednesday they seemed quite busy for a newer cafe. Parking is out front and free but again, quite full. They have a nice clean restroom and a good amount of tables and chairs to sit a while. Free wifi as well! read more

Visited several times to try their matcha lattes (I don't drink coffee) and honestly love their lavender honey matcha. Not too sweet with a hint of lavender. The rose matcha has a strong rose scent, so be warned if you're not a fan of floral scents. Scones are baked in house and they are YUM. Brought my boyfriend and our dog on our most recent visit (they're dog friendly!!) and my boyfriend tried the velvet cream cold brew which he really liked. We bought the sun dried tomato, bacon and blueberries ones to try. They are all so good. Ate all the scones so fast before taking any pictures.
