We recently tried Sodam and ordered the mixed dumplings, beef rib soup, and galbitang. The beef rib soup was actually a really good portion size for our group of 4, especially since we also ordered a few side dishes to share. The mixed dumplings honestly weren't our favorite. The flavor was definitely there, but something about them left a bit more to be desired. Honestly not sure if the red dumplings were meant to be kimchi flavored, but we didn't feel there was enough spice and much of the filling tasted like simply vegetables. We also tried the galbitang, and between that and the larger beef rib soup, I'd say going for the larger soup is definitely more worth it. Service was quick and friendly throughout the meal, and overall we had a good experience. We'd definitely come back to try some other dishes! read more

Went at the wrong time. We went on Mother's Day and it was pretty busy. We were able to make reservations online so we were able to be seated pretty quickly. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and simply furnished. The restaurant had 2 servers so service was a little slow since it was so busy. Even though the service was slow everyone was very nice. We ordered the Galbitang, veggie soondubu, bibimbop and chapchae (glass noodles with veggies). The flavors were good but execution could have been better. The soondubu came out pretty spicy even though we had ordered mild. The glass noodles were a little overcooked. Most importantly they had run out of rice! We waited about 15 more minutes after our soups came before we got our rice. The meal is on the higher price range. But because the flavors were pretty good, we will most likely try coming back at another time when it isn't so busy. read more

Banchan was good. Unfortunately my soondubu was not. The tofu wasn't soft it was medium firm and was cut up in squares. The beef was chopped up tiny ...I thought it was ground beef. Not good tasted like chewy, tiny pieces of unseasoned boiled beef. The soup itself wasn't that flavorful. I think it's a place that has some specialty dishes..maybe some of their other soups. read more

The banchan is so good - not too sweet and it is very fresh. Feels like a real mom and pop shop in Korea tbh - Jinro adverts and cooler with self serve drinks and a water dispenser of course. Sodam is one of our favorite comfort food spots. Their soondubu is so satisfying, especially on colder days. The broth is rich and flavorful, and you can customize the spice level, which I love. We were greeted warmly and seated. The cold noodles I ordered was so good. The noodles were perfectly chewy. The flavor of the cold broth was perfection. The banchan were super yummy as well... Ambiance- the restaurant is very clean and decor is simple. They have a pink frog next to the cash register that's super cute... Parking- located in a plaza where there is ample parking is a plus. Lots of hype around the community around the opening of this restaurant so we were excited to try it out this past weekend. I tried the sullungtang with brisket, which came with the usual sides of green onion and their chili paste. Don't forget to salt to taste. For a place in Santa Clarita, this definitely hit the spot without the drive to the valley or ktown. It also came with a decent amount of brisket. The soft tofu soup was also pretty good but it was pretty mild for my taste. Loved all their side dishes, especially the radish. Quick and friendly service. Lots of seating so could accomodate larger parties. I could see this place getting busy during cooler evenings. Would love to comeback to try their other soups. I'm Korean and I approve! So grateful that this place exists in this area. Good assortment of banchans (side dishes). They even give you a little bit of jeon (Korean pancake; the kimchi and regular kind!). Got the yukgaejang (spicy shredded beef and vegetable stew), and left with a happy belly. The lady there is always consistently lovely, pleasant, and kind. Place is super clean as well. Top quality service every single time. Their Teokguk (Korean traditional new year's rice cake dumpling soup) also always hits. Highly recommend! read more

Korean approved taste!! This place is super authentic. I went to lunch with my husband, expecting not this quality of a authentic soup in Santa Clarita versus korean restaurants in LA. We ordered a lunch special, which also has some good samgetang (korea style chicken soup with sticky rice inside chicken) and Kalbitang (beef bone soup with noodles) on the menu. The side dishes were not screaming MSG, and they tasted very healthy and it was so good. When the soup came out, it was above expectations. It felt like I was back in Korea. Those broths were all very flavorful, and it was deep, it didn't feel like it was drenched in, again, MSG, which a lot of restaurants feel like that. I think it's very hard to find good quality soup with affordable price like this, and I definitely recommend this place for anyone who enjoys a good broth for lunch or dinner or breakfast. My husband and I tried Sodam for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived around 6:30, and it wasn't busy at all. The space is large with plenty of tables, so it never felt crowded. We were warmly greeted by a lady at the entrance who showed us to our table right away. The menu had so many tempting options, it was hard to choose. We decided on two kinds of soup--gukbop for my husband and soondubu for me. The portions were very generous, easily enough to feed one to two people each, but since we were both really hungry, we each had our own. Both soups came with white rice and were packed with flavor. Along with the soups, we were served a variety of side dishes, and every single one of them was delicious. We loved the combination of flavors and felt the meal was both comforting and satisfying. The service the food, all great the basic layout to cover space that was a hamburger burrito spot located in the same closet as Vallarta in Canyon country they serve soups called buckwheat noodles, various chicken and beef dishes in tofu you started to order quite a few items off the menu and we're advised that perhaps we had ordered too much so we cut our order down. All food is served with various Kimchi dishes we had a brown rice with our mail. We chatted with one of the owners. They explained they had just started out. Sodam in Korean means happy community. This restaurant was recommended to us so since it was raining we didn't want to drive to LA from SCV so this definitely met our requirements. We made reservation via Yelp and arrived on time and got seated right away. Staff djd inform us the kitchen is running behind - we figured since they have soup choices and it is raining that they are swamped with to go orders. So, we sat there for more than 15 minutes before the water and banchan arrived. Server apologized and we were ok since we were missing another member to arrive. Once they served the banchan (side dishes) and water, the food came fast one after another. The service was solid, food was delicious and ambiance is ok. We tried galbi, bimbimbap, chicken ginseng soup and cold soup (yes my hubby's choice) - everything was delicious. No need to look further What we tried Ugugy Galbitang - with the cabbage: delicious!!! Sulungtang: legit Nangmyun: delicious! Mixed dumpling: great! They said that they are not an extension of Sodam in Ktown (another amazing joint), but the flavor profile was on point!!!!!!! We got the mixed dumplings and again the kimchi dumplings tasted like they had ground pork in them. Maybe it was something else? The crispy pancake and the spicy pork Bulgari were ok-good. Service was pretty minimal. Our waitress never checked to see if we needed anything or another beer. We had to ask for the check and a to go box after sitting for 20 min when done eating. Alright, this spot has THE BEST naengmyoun (Cold noodle soup). The broth was so amazing- lots of flavor and even had Korean pear- I've never experienced that before and it was so good. We also ordered the galbi (grilled beef short rib) and galbi soup- both are excellent. Portion sizes are very good. Staff are nice. Ambiance very casual and chill. I don't usually eat out or write reviews. However, the last two days (12/26-27/2025), I ate out twice and I chose this place for good reason. It's a nice and cozy place. The staff was very hospitable. The food was amazing. It tasted just like how your parents or grandparents would cook for you in the best possible way. The flavors were comparable to S. Korea (went there March 2025). First day: yukgejong (spicy shredded beef soup with glass noodles), spicy pork, and mixed dumplings. Second day: hotplate bibimbop, bbq chicken, and haemulpajeon (seafood pancake). First day: The cold and rainy added to the experience from a 10/10 to 12/10. (I did not take a photo of the food ordered that day but I took my dad there with the dishes ordered: galbi, yukgejang, soondobu, bulgogi beef) Honestly all amazing. Second day: So impressed I had to try it again. Did not dissappoint. I'm not the fondest of rice in general but my friend who is Korean told me to try those dishes. 9.5/10 just because again not the fondest of rice. I finished everything except the rice. Yes I ate everything! Clean plate club (except rice). Overall so thoroughly impressed. Would highly recommend. P.S the banchan was delectable and had a good selection. Authentic Korean food that reminds me of my favorite restaurant called Daeho in SF. I ordered the Galbi Tang beef soup for me and my husband, and I feel like it instantly cured our lingering cold. The beef broth is very flavorful and rich, and comes with two generously sized beef ribs. I will definitely order from here again. read more
