Let me start by saying, that I've been to painting with a twist, specifically this location in the past. I Visited Painting with a Twist on Valentine's Day and added candle making to our session. We arrived at 2:30 to make the candle and the front desk was a pigsty. I was shocked there was only one person working the front desk; checking people in, making candles, prepping the canvas, and serving drinks. The candle making process was seamless, although we had to impose on another painting session to choose our scents. The painting portion was expected to start at 3:00. The instructor walked in at 2:30 and the tables were not prepped at all. When booking, it was expressed that this location did not offer BYOB. Midday drinking isn't up our alley anyway, so there was no issue respecting their policy. The front room became jam packed and seats had not been designated with names at this point. We were finally able to sit down and noticed that people brought their own alcohol. A customer asks the instructor if it was okay for them to bring their own alcohol and she allowed it which was very strange to me, as they seemed to be urging people to drink from their "bar" and had a no BYOB policy. 3:30 hit and class had not started. Paint was still being placed on plates, and canvases were still being prepped for the drawing. At around 3:40. My partner and I decided to leave. Letting the front desk staff know that we were leaving. We grabbed our non-painted canvas and they were almost in shock that we wanted to leave with the canvas. If we can't get a refund, we're definitely taking the canvas that we've paid for. We were told to come back for our candle, which we did. This place did not respect our time by any means. The service was pitiful and I can't help but think there's another reason why the service was so bad. No one apologized for the wait or even informed us of the hold. Would not recommend. read more

This year, I've been to this location twice. Once as a guest for an event and once as a hostess for a painting party. At the initial event, everything was coordinated and organized. It started and ended on time. We had an option between 1 of 2 paintings. The instructor was easy to follow and we played a game - guess the Artist or Group name of the song played. I enjoyed the painting experience and decided to host a painting party. Registering and setting up for the party was simple and straight-forward. The terms were adequately explained and guest registration and tracking was made easy using a website link that they provided. The party involved a deposit, selecting the painting, providing a music selection and having at least 10 registered guests. The choice of paintings were numerous with over 1000 options. For the painting, I chose Butterfly on a Pink Moon, however, I chose to use purple in lieu of pink. So, I guess my personal art title is Butterfly on a Purple Moon. During the planning/waiting phase, when I had questions, I was always able to reach someone, and they were able to assist me. Our party was in the smaller painting room in the back, and I was allowed to bring in food, drinks and decorations. Just fyi, the venue does have alcoholic drinks and water for purchase at very reasonable prices. During the party, we played a game - guess what the instructor was drawing - and the prize was a painting done by one of the instructors. I really enjoyed the event and my guests indicated that they also had a good time. Our instructor, Nancy, was good. Overall, I found this type of activity to be very enjoyable, easy to set-up and would enjoy doing it again. I recommend checking out any of their events that are open to the public. The venue offers in-studio events, private parties, at-home paint kits and pop in & DIY. Candle making is an option that can be added on. read more

I wanted to explain why I gave Painting with a Twist on Conroy a 3/5. Pros: 1) The painting provided as part of the experience was aesthetically pleasing. 2) The music playlist added a nice ambiance to the event. 3) The seating arrangements for my party were as requested, which was appreciated. 4) if you wanted a glass of wine, the options were limitless 5)The painting space is big enough for you to throughly enjoy the experience without feeling clutter. Cons: 1) The instructor seemed rushed, mentioning that it was her fourth painting of the day. This resulted in a hurried pace, making it difficult to keep up. (I would recommend at least helping the ones who are behind by either drawing it for them to speed them up or giving an extra minute in class for the painters to speed up) 2) I was left behind on my painting and wasn't able to finish it properly, feeling like a rushed job. 3) I found myself among the last participants to complete the painting, and upon setting down my brush, it was promptly confiscated. Subsequently, the staff repeatedly inquired if my group desired a photograph, despite my incomplete painting. This occurrence, perhaps prompted by the establishment's impending closure, appeared as a means to hasten our departure. Overall, I left the paint and sip experience feeling a bit disappointed. Despite the pretty painting provided and the enjoyable music playlist, the rushed atmosphere detracted from the overall enjoyment. I found myself trailing behind, unable to finish my painting properly. It would have been appreciated if, at the end of the class, there was assistance offered for those who couldn't keep pace. I understand that unexpected call-outs can disrupt schedules, leading to a need for swift completion, but a little more patience, especially for slower participants, would have been valued. I tried to finished what I could with the time that I had. I would come back, but I would come earlier. I wouldn't recommend the 7pm studio session. read more

I've seen advertisements for Painting With A Twist for probably a couple of years now but it never really caught my attention for some reason. I finally went this past weekend because I was invited by a family member with fun people so I finally decided to give it a try. It was the most fun I've had in a while! I don't consider myself artistic or crafty so I didn't know if I would like it. To my surprise, I loved it! I always like trying new things and this was the perfect thing at the perfect time for me. I attended with a fun group which always makes the experience that much better. The teacher in the class named Misty was friendly, helpful and encouraging which I appreciated. You start off with a blank canvas and follow the instructors directions on how to create your masterpiece, step by step. I had no idea what I was capable of and was very proud of the final result. This location had a few private rooms painting different art. They offer wine and beverages while you are there. I enjoyed seeing my painting come to life as well as looking around and seeing everyone's own creative twist on their art. Although all the art was similar, they were all unique and different from one another. This location was very easy to get to and close to everything. The staff was friendly and the price was very reasonable for the two hour experience you get. There was plenty of parking as well. This is always one of my favorite places to visit when I want to relax and make some "artwork" for my house. I have been waiting to do the "Paint Your Pet" for a long time and was happy to join them for it. Nancy was great, waking around and helping us with tips and suggestions. The owner, Berdino, is always a pleasure to deal with. Not only did I leave with a beautiful memorial painting of my late kitty, but I had fun doing it as well. My favorite part was that I walked away with it already framed, so it was ready to be hung in my wall. Had a blast with a girlfriend and this location! We did the black light painting class for Halloween and it was tons of fun! I will say, I don't drink and they had plenty of non alcoholic beverages like NA wine and beer and soda and water. The music was a nice mix of oldies and new songs. The instructor was great, she was not too involved which can sometimes be annoying when paintings are a little more straight forward. SO MUCH FUN!! I have been dying to go to one of these for so long now because they're definitely one of "the things to do" at the moment. Everyone I have ever heard talk about it has nothing but fantastic things to say and so it's been on my to-do list for quite some time. The way it works is you can go to their website and take a look at all of the scheduled paintings coming up. You choose which painting you'd like to do and then reserve your spot based on that. The prices seem to vary based on how large the canvas is and how intricate it is (because they will ultimately need to do a lot more attention to detail and help the painters!) My party arrived first and it was adorable in there. Very artsy, DUH. You look around on the walls and they have a ton of paintings that they have done previously, which gets you excited because you're on your way to creating something like that! Theres a little bar, which has great prices by the way, because it is not included in your reservation price. At first I thought it was included and then it honestly made sense that it wasn't because not everyone would drink and maybe not everyone would even be of age to drink. So why should they pay for something that they won't utilize. So it makes sense! The gentleman who instructed the painting class was great! He was entertaining, kept you engaged, super helpful, and verrryyyy easy on the eyes. Yes. He's damn cute. Just saying. The music was a range of everything so definitely everyone in the room was dancing and singing no matter how old you were or where you were from. I loved that they played 90's and early 2000's. You heard a lot of songs that you forgot about but songs that never fail to get you singing along. Three panic attacks and two glasses of wine later (damn stressful if you're a perfectionist but not really artistic lol), we all made some really great pieces of art!! One of the painting chains in town that has their paint nights down to a science! I visited Painting with a Twist to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday in January with a group of girls. We had a great time and I was impressed by how organized everything was! If you sign up for a class in advance, you'll have an easy time checking in upon arrival. Our party arrived about 15 minutes prior to the start time which was perfect. We snacked on some cheese and crackers that we brought to hold us over until we could get dinner after the class. They don't let you bring in drinks, but have a bar with sodas, wine, and beer (reasonably priced I might add) for purchase. The class started right on time. The instructor went at a brisk pace through the class so we could get through it in two hours. Staff came around to check up and walk you through anything too. We were pretty crunched in (not much room to move) and one person's easel almost completely fell over. I think the Friday/Saturday night classes are popular so they squeeze everyone in! Since my sister-in-law was celebrating her birthday, they gave her a cute birthday smock to wear! All in all, very organized class and a lot of fun! read more

My group and I attended a Painting with a Twist, private session with Nancy and Beth. Our session went from 6pm to 8pm, which was enough time to chat with other, snack and paint! Nancy was absolutely patient with our group and Beth was very attentive. Our canvas theme was "My Sister's Keeper". Our ticket was $46 and that covered the portrait, apron, paint brushes, and paint color ( there's a lot of colors to choose from). We were in Orlando for an extended Disney vacation and experienced some really terrible weather. Since hanging by the pool wasn't an option I jumped onto Yelp for ideas to keep my son occupied and found Painting with a Twist. He had a BLAST and I got to run some errands and grab some coffee in the area. The staff was extremely welcoming and talented, and I can tell they enjoy doing what they do. Kudos! read more

Such a fun experience. I signed up at the last minute and went with my mom, who has never painted before, and we ended up having a great night and a lot of laughs. PWAT takes the seriousness away (no ear cutting here), and gives you a fun creative experience. We arrived early and everything was already set up. We purchased our glasses of wine and found our seats. The instructor is on a stage and there's a TV screen off to the side for those who don't have a prime seat. Our instructor, Patrick, was a lot of fun. He took us step by step, painting each piece and came around to help anyone who needed it. The end result was a fun unique painting. We took breaks to play games and reset our brains. They really don't want you to take this too seriously, which makes for a fun relaxing time. I have been here several times over the past several years specifically for the paint a pet classes so this review is based solely on those classes. These specific classes cost a little more than the regular classes but are totally worth it if you want a one of a kind portrait of your furry friend. They sell out every time they have this class. The fee includes the canvas, all paints and brushes for use, an apron to wear as well as class instruction. Classes take 3 hours and then some depending on how fast of a painter you are but no experience is necessary. Once you sign up, you have to email a clear photo of your pet to the business email and one of the instructors takes the time to sketch out the pet photos each on its own canvas. That way, when you arrive for the class, the canvas is ready to go and ready for you to outline and fill in with color. The instructors walk you through, step by step, on how to tackle your portrait from outlining to conveying the "sparkle" in your pups eyes and the wetness of their noses! They are very patient and take the time to walk around and make suggestions with no judgment. They were my saving grace when I would get frustrated with where my photo was going. I could not survive these classes without these valuable people. Kudos to Michele and Jessica for all of your help on my most recent visit. My portrait of our dog, Wally, came out fantastic! They also play cool 80's music and have a bar where they sell non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks but you are free to bring your own. Also, don't forget to pick up a frequent painters card and when you check in on FB/Yelp you get an additional punch on your card. I highly recommend this venue for a fun girls night out, date night, birthday party, etc!!! read more

This place is great fun! I got a group of friends together and we all went for my birthday. The activity was pretty economical at around $35 for a two-hour session which included instruction, paints and the canvas to take home. Everything was set up and ready to go as soon as we got there. We donned aprons and followed the step-by-step instructions to create our masterpieces. I was really impressed with how similar all of our paintings were by the end. The step-by-step instructions are very easy to follow! I can't wait to go back, so I've been watching the calendar on their web site to see which paintings are coming up soon. We booked our reservations as Singles, since couples were full. All that really meant though was we were painting the same photo, where couples were painting two different halves of the painting. The canvas had predawn lines, which simplified the painting a little. The artist . kept us busy the whole time and the time really flew by. They also had beer, wine and beverages. I have gone to PWAT for the last few years. I have gone to this location several times and had always had a good experience until today. The instructor and the assistant were nice and professional. But I feel they need to have more power when it comes to quieting groups who are rowdy. A group of 4-5 people came late after the instructions were read. It was a birthday group. They became very rowdy and would not shut up. They talked very loud where the instructor had to repeat instructions to them specifically. The instructor was teaching TWO paintings with TWO different instructions so it did take long to finish. They were simple paintings but the repeating delayed finishing early. They kept taking selfies and took about a few phone calls with the sound on. They even watched a video on their phone with the volume loud. They were watching a gender reveal of their friend on their phone. They even talked about leaving a pet in the shelter. At one point, they said the "N" word as a joke. I know that the instructor and assistant were busy but the repeating alone should have been a problem for the instructor and should have been addressed to them. It was extremely hard to concentrate and they kept moving the table while I was painting. To avoid this problem: 1. If the group comes late, make sure to tell them to talk softly and not loud. 2. Their instructions should also include minimal use of cell phones. Some pictures allowed but no phone calls. I'm surprise it wasn't even mentioned. Cell phones should be on silence at the very least. 3. All groups should be told to be respectful of other customers in the same table. Talk softly. While my painting was okay, I felt it could have been a tad better if I wasn't so disturbed from them. read more

My husband planned this for a date night and it was honestly so much fun!!! I am not artistic or creative so I was worried that my painting would look like ass but our instructor was kind enough to draw an outline on each of our canvases. I don't know if all instructors do that but it was much appreciated. They serve drinks and some small snacks (chips, etc) so you aren't starving and parched while you paint. Our class was about 24 people. Our instructor was great but I wish she'd had a microphone. There were moments when she was giving instructions and couldn't be heard over some of the louder students. They also play music during class (turned down when the instructor is talking) so it's not a quiet environment. I really enjoyed myself and it's something I'd do again. read more

Came about 15 minutes late after rushing from a birthday dinner. Wasn't sure if we would be able to paint. Went straight to the front desk which was empty. I recently attended my first painting class at Painting with a Twist after visiting many other classes around town. My initial impression was not very good... I called to ask if I could bring my teenage daughter to the class (it was the Dr. Who painting, the kids love Dr. Who...), but was told that 16 was the minimum age with no exceptions. Which is fine, that's their rule, but it is a crummy rule. Anyway, it did save me $35 and I went to the class anyway. When I arrived for the class I was seated separately from my friends. Not just separate, but in different rooms. Even though we were arrived very early and were some of the first people there the employees acted like it was a huge hassle to switch my seat to be near my friends. They really over-complicated something that should have been very easy. And there were plumbing problems. That really is not cool with me. The toilet wasn't flushing and there was no hot water in the sink. When you're drinking wine you really want functioning bathroom facilities. As for the painting, it was good. I liked the instructor a lot, she was very friendly and fun. Having a microphone made her instructions easy to hear and was a big plus for me. I think it would have been good for her to have a larger canvas to demonstrate on. She ended up bringing out a dry erase board to explain some things because it was hard to see what she was doing some times. Also there was only one assistant for the class and it was such a big group it would have been helpful to have a second person going around. I personally never got any feedback on my painting. Normally at the classes I have been to they are constantly circulating giving you pointers. I like the paintings they offer but I'm not too sure I'll go back. It just wasn't my favorite painting place so far. read more

I've been here a couple of times, and had a wonderful experience each night. The concept is pretty cool: You pay $45 (online via their website) and show up to a blank canvas and a palate of paints. The instructor teaches you, step by step, how to paint your own masterpiece! Even if you aren't artistically inclined, you will walk away rather impressed with yourself. I know I was. The two classes I attended were the "Tuscan Landscape" and "Night at the Colosseum" - but you can check their online calendar and see what they have planned. They even have example pictures/paintings posted up on the calendar so that you can exactly see what type of art you will be bringing home. The owner and instructors are very helpful and funny, and they also double as bar backs, taking your cash in return for glasses of wine and bottles of beer. Who doesn't want to paint whilst tipsy? All in all, if you are looking for an alternative to slinking around at the bar, come and drink here... it's great for a night out with girlfriends, or even a fun date. I had such a fun night celebrating a friend's birthday! I'm not artistic AT ALL so I was a little worried about how mine would turn out but just like the instructor said, once I took a step back it looked pretty good! My friend had booked early so we had a private room. She was able to bring in snacks for us and then we bought wine at the little bar they have. The instructor was great! From the time we walked in the class the staff were happy and upbeat. They were great at making you feel right at home. I had told them when I signed up for the class that is was my daughters birthday and they had her paint area setup with a balloon and a birthday hat and her paint plate said her name and Happy Birthday on it. They walk you step by step on doing your painting. We did so much laughing at ourselves. They had some great oldies music playing to lighten things up. We both traveled out of town for this class but we will both look into taking one where we live. It is worth the money and the time to do it. read more

I've always wanted to learn how to paint. I'd heard a lot of great things about Painting With A Twist from friends. So when the opportunity for a girls' night came, I jumped at the chance. The whole studio had a very welcoming vibe when you walk in. There was someone there to greet us, check us in and give us the lay of the land. The instructor was very good with lots of energy and encouragement. The 2 hour class was done in no time and I walked away with a decent first time painting. I am only giving one star because you can't give ZERO stars. The owner of this establishment is rude and uncaring. I have been in her store now on 3 different occasions and watched her belittle her staff in front of the customers. If you think she will treat you better as a customer, then you are incorrect. I went with a small group of people and the owner went out of her way to make one of the members of my party feel embarrassed. She rushed me through my painting and made one of her employees grab a paintbrush and try to rush me as well. I went in for another class and she humiliated me in front of another customer for something that was clearly a mistake on her part. I am sorry. If you want a fun class try going to the Hunter's Creek location or the Altamonte Springs location. Anna will make sure your experience here is less than friendly. read more
