The employees were very friendly. They have a huge menu with lots of options. My hubby got the steak and cheese sandwich and I got the garlic spinach pizza which was really good. My hubby didn't care for the tomato and lettuce on the sandwich, had he noticed it on the menu he would have asked for it without those toppings. I regularly order delivery from this location, so this was my first experience with carryout. The phone order was simple and easy to execute. They did have to put me on hold for a minute, but I called during the dinner rush so I expected it. I walked in to pick up the order and was greeted with a warm smile from the folks working the registers. They had my 3 pizza order ready to go, so I didn't have to wait. The payment process was simple, but it was so simple that I didn't realize, until I got home, that I didn't get a receipt. That is not 100% their fault because if I wanted one I should have remembered to ask. However I will say, I shouldn't have to ask either. It is standard in most businesses to give your customer a receipt. The pizza we got was delicious. No I'm not from New York, which apparently means I know nothing about pizza. If you saw how fat I am I think you'd consider otherwise. Also I've been to many pizza joints in NY and was rarely impressed, but I digress. The people sound like they actually care about the customers, which is rare these days. Ordering was quick easy. I ordered the baked ziti which comes with a side of garlic bread. Had great hopes for this place. The pros: the pizza was not bad but definitely not any better than other places. They did have a thicker edge crust than most though. The sauce is tasty as well. It was ready when I got there and they threw in plates, peppers, and Parmesan packets. Also, the cheese thickness and amount of pepperoni was very nice. The cons: the crust under the sauce and cheese was soggy and couldn't even be held with a New York fold. It was floppy and had a lot of grease (not so much a con but when it impacts the under crust it's a concern). The most disappointing part was the $4.99 "garlic knots" that were smaller than some pretzel bites. I would never order these had I known they were this small and less flavorful than the pizza crust. All in all this place is OK but not on the "worth a drive to get" list. One note, the D.C. area still believes an XL pizza is 16". Be aware when ordering that you shouldn't expect big pieces. read more

I have been a loyal Paisano's customer for over 5 years. I have ordered from the Gainesville location for 3 years during lunch. The last few times the service and food have been awful. Today was the worst. It took 50 minutes for delivery and I was told the driver left the store over 30 minutes prior to my call. My chicken philly was cold and soggy from being in the paper container for over 30 minutes. My fries are a soggy mushy mess. I called the store and the girl said the meal was delivered on time. No apology and no offer to make it right. The driver was young and had a girl in the car. The driver never apologized for bringing me cold food either. My husband is a delivery man for another pizza place and they never take more than 2 deliveries at a time and only if they are near each other. Soggy cold food is never acceptable. My lunch for a sub with fries and soda was $14.67. That's a lot of money for food I had throw out because of how awful it tasted cold. read more

I am not sure if their pizza even deserves one star. On June 6 I ordered a large pizza that I was going to pick-up. I noticed on their website they were offering a special of buy one, get one free. That sounded good so I ordered two sausage pizzas. I picked them up and placed them on the backseat and almost immediately smelled something very foul! I had to open the car windows as it was such a disagreeable odor. When I arrived at home I opened one of the boxes and was pleased with the look of the nice thin crust but was really put off by the unpleasant odor. I tried a bite of one slice and gagged. I threw both of the pizzas in the trash. My brother felt the same way as I did. It occurred to me that they must have been using poor cheese or some kind of a fake cheese substitute or mixture. Last Friday I thought I would get to the bottom of this so I called again and asked to speak to the manager. I was informed I was speaking to the manager. I asked if they used pure good quality mozzarella or some kind of a combination. Sure enough, it was a combination of a few cheeses that were probably cheese food rather then real cheese. I told her about my last experience which she didn't seem to care about. She then told me that mozzarella would be extra, etc. I asked about specials and was quickly given a run down which I couldn't follow or understand. Okay, Easy! Two pizzas with real mozzarella and Italian sausage. Before she hung up I asked what the total would be which came to about $36 which sounded exorbitant but at that point I also wanted to hang up! About 45 minutes later the pizzas show up. I should have taken a photograph. About 7 thin slices of mozzarella, a handful of sausage, and no more then 4 tablespoons of sauce. It was ice cold! It was so chintzy and parsimonious it almost made me laugh. There was more bare crust showing then sauce, cheese, or sausage. Two more pizzas and $36 into the trash. There's an old saying, it may have come from Italy: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!" I won't be coming back or calling back! I ordered a large pizza and salad at 630pm and was told 45 min. It's now 8pm and I have no pizza. I've called 4 times, twice left on hold for over 10 minutes. the third time I refused to hold and asked about a possible delivery time, was told a few minutes they are very busy but GM was out delivering. I totally understand busy. Called back 20 minutes later when still no pizza. Was told by girl "do you not understand busy?". I cancelled my order. That is an unacceptable wait and unacceptable response. People have the choice where to spend their money and business owners and managers should be aware of that. Busy I understand but rudeness I do not She then hung up on me I order from here 2-3 times a week and never will again, not even due to the wait but due to the way a loyal customer was spoken to and hung up on Unfortunately the delivery showed and the poor guy got an earful from me about how disrespectful his staff was and thus I'd never order again. When this place first opened it was a great place with great pizza. However, throughout the years the customer service has drastically deteriorated. If you order a specialty pizza and need to adjust one item you might as well just order the pizza and pick off the item yourself. This has become the new norm for this business. Not a fan. The two stars are for the wings which, the three times I've had Paisanos wings, were great. This time I ordered pizza. I was less then impressed. I don't know if it's the particular spot or the style they make but I won't have it again. Cheese tasted off and there wasn't enough sauce. Kids ate one piece each and quit. I was expecting way more for my $35 - and that was for two medium two topping pizzas and 8 wings. Way overpriced for subpar food. I'll stick with Dominos for the kids and Tony's Italian for me. I want to start off by saying that it kills me to write a negative review of this place. Paisano's has been our favorite pizza place since we moved to Virginia. Paisano's was always on the upper end of the price spectrum for pizza, but the pizza was absolutely worth it. Until tonight. We ordered two medium, 2 topping pizzas and some "garlic" knots(there was not the slightest hint of garlic), this cost us about $35. When the pizza came we noticed that it looked different than usual. Specifically the crust. The crust has always been perfect. Crispy and chewy with big bubbles in the crust. Very obviously hand tossed. Tonight it was flat and uniform, it looked like the premade crap that little ceasars uses. They did try to dress it up with some seasoning on the crust. By dress it up I mean they tried to cover the taste. And then we tasted it, dear god, I think it was worse than what little ceasars uses. It tasted like cardboard. There was also a significant difference in the amount of toppings on the pizza. I would never order this pizza again. I understand that companies need to make money, but they should be ashamed of themselves for charging the prices they do for this awful pizza. I guess this is the beginning of a new adventure of finding a new favorite pizza joint. If you can get a pizza for $5 from them, go for it. But any more would be robbery on their part. Well, it pains me to do this. I have had great service and food from them for some time. But it seems that new owners took over on the weekend. So I ordered a sub, and on their site, you have the options to remove certain items and add them. I removed lettuce, did NOT check the box to "add hots", I checked the box for extra meat, and added a soda It came with no extra meat, there were hots on it, and no soda. I called and told them this, and the response I got was interesting. It seems that the menu was updated months ago, clearly stating that HOTs came with the sub now. So it seems that it was my responsibility to check the menu and correspond it to the online ordering system. I did not check the box for hots, but since the menu has hot on it, it was my fault for now catching it and my responsibility to catch it. I'll leave that up to you to figure that one out. I said "Ooooookayyyy, and what about the soda"...... "Well it will take a long time, because we are busy." So, it was my fault for not comparing the ordering system with the menu. It was not their fault because the menu was updated for months. My extra meat was never address, which I spent extra for. And I am sure my soda will never show up, which I also paid for. When you make a mistake, own it and make an effort to fix it. This alone is why they get a 1 star. Mistakes are common, and the mistake is not the reason for the 1 star. It is a 1 star for trying to convince me how it was my fault, no attempt to address the extra meat, and not sending out my soda. It has been 35 mintues so far, and no soda. I just tried this restaurant for the first time today. It goes above and beyond what you expect for delivery pizza. The staff was knowledgable and the driver was more than courteous. Pizza came in record time and was hot and delicious. Paisano definitely has me as a fan. read more
