We went here for a friend's birthday for the first time, and I thought it was a good first experience! For appetizers, our group got the Yucca Fries as well as the Anticucho de Lomo Fino (Beef skewers). The skewers were amazing! The meat was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I thought the Yucca Fries were average. For my entree, I ordered the Lomo Saltado Pizza. I thought the crust was perfect (I hate when my crust gets soggy). The meat was tender as well, but the pizza was VERY salty; too salty to the point that I couldn't finish my entree, which was a shame, because everything was so good. My friend ordered the lomo saltado (not the pizza) as an entree and the meat was just as salty too, so not sure that went wrong there. Overall, service could have went better. I ordered a soda, and I had to ask for it multiple times, even though the waiter acknowledged he hadn't brought it yet. It also took some time for refills as well.

Yes, that sandwich is easily 3-4 inches tall. Tasty garnish. Lovely presentation.

Tried something new - never too old for that. Traditional Peruvian pork belly sandwich. The stack up was a bit much, so I took knife and fork to the meat, put both halves of the bun back together, and feasted. They were open to subbing steak fries for the sweet potato fries. Stellar service, spotless place, priced fairly. Winner!

We stumbled upon this place after discovering that our original dinner destination was closed. Since I had never tried a Peruvian restaurant in Sacramento before, I was excited to give it a chance. The food presentation was beautiful, and the dishes themselves were packed with flavor. That said, I did find the prices a bit high for the portion sizes served. Located in the former Tropics bar space, they've done a great job transforming it into a more inviting dining destination with a warmer ambiance. While they've retained the bar TV's throughout the restaurant, it actually worked out perfectly for us since we were able to enjoy the World Cup while we ate. Our waitress offered a few recommendations, but they weren't particularly helpful, as she mostly repeated menu items without explaining what made them stand out or why she personally suggested them. Despite that, I would return to explore more of the menu. I passed on the empanadas and plantains this visit, and I'm definitely curious to try them the next time around. It was an enjoyable first experience with Peruvian cuisine in Sacramento, and I'd be interested to see how other dishes compare on a future visit.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for my first time trying Peruvian food. I ordered the lomo saltado, and it was absolutely delicious -- great flavor and really satisfying. The only downside was that it came out a bit cold. The presentation was nice, and the restaurant itself is really cute with a good vibe. The staff member who helped us was also super friendly and gave great recommendations, which I appreciated as a first-timer. Overall, a good experience, just wish the food had been served hotter!

The family and I decided to lunch have lunch her for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. After becoming familiar with Peruvian food in the last few years with another local restaurants. Because we live the food there, we were excited to hear of another restaurant opening in the Sacramento area. After arriving we were happily greeted by the host, who also ended up being our server as well. Because we'd called and made reservations for my MIL's birthday, the staff were nice enough to adorn our seating area with balloons and flowers, which was a really nice touch. After looking g over the menu my family and aI ordered the following: Drinks & courses: Chicha Morada (Purple Corn Drink) Fried Plantains (Maduros) Fries Focaccia Bread Ceviche El Tacu Tacu de la Via Expresa Tallarin Saltado Nikkei Strawberry Cheesecake (birthday) Food was amazing! My partner and I love the purple corn Peruvian drink, so we had to start our lunch off with those. While also sharing an order order of the Plantains and Ceviche. I personally ordered the El Tacu Tacu de la Via Expresa, which was absolutelyamazing! The presentation alone was beautiful. A bed of ride adorned with steak, Chimichurri, and a sunny side up egg, along with Plantains plated alongside the main course. Our waiter aslo brought out traditional Peruvian style hats for all of us, to try on (if we chose) while we sang Happy Birthday to my MILk. Overall: Beautiful establishment, wonderful amd friendly staff, amazingly delicious food...you can't go wrong with Paititi!

My fiance and i went here as I really wanted to try ceviche at a peruvian place.i went with the mixed seafood one and he got a chicken dish of some kind that was marinated in what seemed to be a nut based yellow sauce. For appetizers we got the chicken wings. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and came to check on us throughout the time we were there. I also really loved the decorations (especially the alpaca ones!) All over the restaurant. Our food was just as beautiful and vibrant as the ambiance and was as delicious as it looked. I really enjoyed the appetizer-wings were tender and my ceviche was very flavorful and filling-i also liked that they incorporated all of the additional sides to the plate and provided plenty of veggies with my meal. There were some mixed reviews I noticed with some people saying their food was either too salty or not salty enough. I personally think it leaned towards less salty. But not in a bad way at all. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and that did not take away from the flavor. Although it is a pricier restaurant, I believe it's worth it for the entire experience they give you and I would for sure love to come back again!

Love this restaurant! There was great variety in their lunch menu, and my friends and I received quick service even for the number of people we had in our party. Arroz Chaufa Paititi: The presentation of this dish had already caught my eye, and every ingredient looked and tasted fresh. It was well-seasoned, and the dish felt hearty without being greasy. Anticucho de Lomo Fino: These were tender cuts of beef placed on a skewer, and they were nicely charred on the outside with a marinade that brought subtle smokiness! This was a great spot for something flavorful and delicious!

Stopped by Paititi for a Sunday lunch with friends and had a great first visit. The space is casual, clean, and comfortable, with a window seat that made the experience even better. I ordered the Pollo a la Brasa my wife had the Pan con Chicharrón, and plantains. Portions were just right, everything tasted fresh, and the food came out quickly. The pollo was juicy and hearty and satisfying. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive without feeling rushed. Prices are in the $$ range and felt well worth it for the quality and experience. Would definitely come back.

Yelp guided me to Paititi when I searched for "Hot and New" restaurant - thanks Yelp! Waiter from San Miguel, Peru was so warm and friendly. Started with Tequenos Del Chef - delicious but small sized (like an egg roll) for the price. Will definitely try the traditional empanadas next time. Gotta get plantains, of course. As expected. One well cooked plantain will cost you about $8. Lomo Saltado- perfectly cooked! Pollo- seasoned perfectly and the fries in a basket add to the presentation. Delish with the aji sauces! Pan con Chicharon- have had this at other restaurants, where the pork is shredded and fried to add crispiness and a more rendered fat. Paititi's version has huge chunks of pork belly with fat that could've been cooked a bit longer. Sweet potato fries were done well but will be passing on this next time. Sunday brunch crowd was tiny, but would come back to try out the dinner vibes with maybe a ceviche next time!

Only open a few months and doing a great job! Super friendly staff and very tasty offerings but they have some things to works out. Complimentary bread was great with our Chicha Moradas. My date had the Loma Saltado. Fries separated in a basket left them a bit dry and slightly undercooked otherwise the dish was tasty. I got the EL TACU TACU DE LA VÍA EXPRESA, this was 100% delicious. It too had an op pies as it was missing chalaquita. Staff was very receptive to "do you want me to tell you it's good or would you really like ti know what we think?" They were very receptive and eager to make things right, we did accept and compensation, just accepted what we got. Their eagerness to correct the minor issues makes us want to return very soon.

My friend and I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. This location has been many different restaurants over the years, and I really hope Paititi sticks around for a long, long time. The food is great and the service was excellent! For dinner, I had the arroz con mariscos a la norteña. I thought the price was fair for the portion size. To drink I tried the chicha morada sour. The server let me try the chicha morada (purple corn) juice. It's made in house, and the taste is hard to describe. It's not too sweet, and has a mild flavor. I thought it made a great mixer in the chicha morada sour. I told my husband about my experience and we are planning to come back soon.

Came here for my monthly link with my girls and I will definitely return. Haven't been to this location since it's was Pete's and I am pleasantly surprised by its new offering. The location is great for any restaurant and hopefully this place is able to last. The decor is amazing. Colorful and vibrant decor display the vibes for the restaurant. The food was full of flavors but I felt it missed the wow factor for me. I wanted a punch of flavor and got more of a love tap. It may have just been what I tried but I am definitely willing to come back again and try another menu offering. The place was pretty empty when we came and the service was top tier. My drink gave a great kick.

The drinks-- strawberry- mango lemonade & maracuya. Very refreshing

A 3.5 rating from us. My daughter & I had dinner the other nite. I soent time in Peru in early 80s, so excited to try. Each dish had its own distinct flavors. The Empanada Limena Aji De Gallina was lovely w/ mustardy dip sauce. The ceviche classico was different than any i had in Peru. Big chunks of fish & other vegies you mixed together yourself. We got medium & it needed bit more flavor. The papas rellenas were nice mashed potato stuffed with filling then deep fried. It was our favorite. Fried plantain nice & sweet so almost like desert. To drink--Strawberry- Mango Lemonade 1 Maracuya juice. Refreshing. 4-5 booths & also tables. A bit mire than we wanted to spend-- nearly $100 and no alcohol

wow. this is one of the best meals I've had in sacramento in years…read more this place is located on 16th street, so there isn't great parking. I had to find a metered spot on the street and walk a bit to get here, but I'm glad I did bc I was very pleasantly surprised with how tasty the food was. I dropped by for a weeknight dinner, and it was pretty slow. The restaurant is fairly spacious, but most of the tables were open. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. DRINK - Chicha morada: I've never had this before. It's non-alcoholic. It's a purple drink made from purple corn, pineapple, cinnamon, & cloves, and it's delicious! definitely give it a try. And, you get a very nice, tall glass of it. - Pisco sour: a finely crafted cocktail. I've had this drink a few times before elsewhere, and it's a good one. It brings the sweetness & tanginess, and while you can definitely taste the alcohol, but it's not overbearing. FOOD - ceviche anconero (white fish LDT, red onions, peruvian corn, sweet potato): a solid ceviche. the peruvian corn was great with it; they were sorta like sweetened corn nuts. there was a nice spice to the marinade. - lomo saltado (wok-fired beef tenderloin, soy, tomato, onion, fries, rice, fried egg): this was amazing. I've had this dish elsewhere, and it's always a winner. the onions and tomatoes were perfectly cooked. the onions were cooked just enough so they retained their crunch without just being raw. I guess my one minor criticism is that I could've used more fries. but.. definitely get this. - black seafood rice (creamy squid ink rice, grilled head-on prawns, mussels, calamari, roasted peppers, aji amarillo butter, cilantro oil, grilled lemon): wow.. another great dish. unlike the lomo saltado, which I've eaten before elsewhere, I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but it was just as tasty. I really don't think I could pick a definite favorite between the two dishes. the rice is kinda porridge-like and is enrobed in the seafood goodness. The shellfish was nicely cooked & not rubbery. the portion size is pretty big & bc it's a rice dish, it's very filling. this dish (like the lomo saltado) do lean on the salty side, but I do like my salt..... I have had lomo saltado where I've felt it's gotten too salty after eating it a while, but it (and the black seafood rice) didn't get my palate to the point of being over-salted. I will definitely return at some point. And, I'm happy to know that they also have a location out in Roseville as well.

I didn't want to write this review but I had a concern about something about the menu. I ordered the tequenos de pollo as an appetizer and the menu didn't say anything about it having cheese in which was perfect. I got the order and it in fact had cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. There are folks out here with life threatening allergies, so these places need to be careful. I'm glad I'm not one of those people but it's still disappointing.

The egg probably makes it authentic but was not the stand out. I would order this again in a second. I took half of it home. My wife had the pork belly appetizer and plantain side. She raved about it, especially the plantains. The sauce with the plantains was perfect. The sauce with the pork belly was quite spicy and she replaced it with another sauce that they had. The two options are al pastor or chicken or for $1 extra, asada. If you can't stand those two options, sure go ahead and order with the asada, but if you could go either way, choose the al pastor! It was so tender, flavorful, and juicy. I've only had al pastor this delicious one other time and have been chasing down that flavor for almost two years now and am happy to say I have found it with Ahuevo's al pastor. On top of that, the tostada inside is so unbelievably crispy and light and the toasted cheese on the outside is so genius. Those are probably the two characteristics that I love the most about this menu item. A few things were different with my experience this time, but nothing that would garner a lower rating. First, it was served in a nacho style tray rather than a takeout box. Not the biggest fan because it's difficult to transport, but on a good day, find a bench and you'll be just as comfortable as if you ate it in your office. Second, there were significantly less tortilla chips included. I counted maybe like six... but! They're not really important to the dish, except for when some of the fillings inevitably fall into the tray and you're left with the tortilla chips to scoop them up (you don't wanna waste this stuff). Lastly, there was no side sauce like when I ordered the asada, but again, not necessary! I wasn't a big fan of the sauce to begin with when I tried it, because the flavors are so balanced in the krunch wrap by itself that it's just not needed. Ok, one other thing that was different- the fillings were so generous! Last time I was biting into some thick layers of tortilla, but this time they got the ratio on the money. If you can only get one thing from this truck, get this and you will not regret it whatsoever. And just to emphasize, the quality versus the price of the food is absolutely insane. With surging food prices, I was happy paying $12 and am looking forward to hopefully seeing them in front of the Capitol again.

Yelp Elite Review: A Taste of Home…read more I'm Puerto Rican and Italian, and I grew up with a Puerto Rican grandmother who owned three Puerto Rican restaurants called the Latin Barn back in the day. So when I tell you I know and LOVE Puerto Rican food, I'm not just talking--I've got childhood credentials! I came here with my oldest son and his wife for her birthday, and then something unexpected happened: I started crying. The flavors, aromas, and atmosphere brought a flood of childhood memories rushing back. Food can do that--and this place absolutely nailed it. I ordered the Puerto Rican Special with shredded pork, arroz con gandules, sweet plantains, and beans. AWESOME! I also tried the empanadas with both chicken and beef, and they were incredible. And portions? Let's just say they apparently believed we were feeding the entire extended family. We were given so much food that I had leftovers for the next day--which meant I got to have an encore performance! The Caribbean atmosphere combined with Ashland's unique vibe creates a warm, welcoming place where people actually seem to enjoy being there. The staff was friendly, helpful, and loved to laugh--which is definitely a Puerto Rican thing to do...right after making sure you have nice shoes. The dessert selection was fantastic, too. From the beef stew to the pork, the rice, the plantains, and everything in between, you are going to fall in love with this food. This is officially my new favorite place. And in the immortal words of General MacArthur: "I SHALL RETURN!" Do yourself a favor and put this place on your must-visit list. Come hungry, bring your appetite, and prepare to leave saying, "I'm Puerto Rican!" Visited this place again recently and have revised my opinions. I hadn't been in literally years,…read morebut I came for a friend's birthday recently and felt a small disdain toward myself for the original bad review. We had a large party and I think the service could have possibly been more attentive, but that's always a hit or miss for a large group. Our waiter was super kind and despite so many of us getting there at different times the spacing between entrees was excellent. I had a pina colada coquito fusion cocktail and it was delicious. My friend tried their take on the espresso martini and it was also balanced really nicely. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and it had a good selection! Honorable mention is the patio. I didn't even know they had a patio?? Such colorful outdoor decor paired with plants made me feel like I could spend hours with my friends here. I'd easily see myself going there alone for lunch someday just to relax outside, especially during the summer. Very decent amount of shade as well. Everyone really enjoyed their food and I got the paella again. This time it wasn't mushy rice and packed full of seafood, however the dish holding the food was very shallow and not an enormous portion. I'd think the portion would maybe be split between three people easily? But any large groups would need additional orders. The empanadas were tasty as well and I'm excited to try the different options next time I come. Worth checking out and an amazing food spot for summertime to enjoy outside. Also tip for parking - it isn't too bad if you just go a block further down Broadway heading east. You'll find street spots easily!

I came because, fortunately, I had a $12.00 birthday reward (powered by Toast Local) that was applied to the bill at the end. On the menu, I noticed that there was a lunch special called "Menu Del Almuerzo" that included a soup, an entree, and a dessert, priced at $24.00. For the entree, I requested the seafood stew. I must say that the soup and entree were both deliciously satisfying. The scoop of vanilla ice cream served at the end was a nice ending to the meal. As far as a beverage, I got the Nitty's Cider. It was a decent hard cider drink to enjoy. The server during my dining experience was Yolanda. I was appreciative of her hospitality, as it was beyond amiable and attentive. The service totally enhanced my visit. The restaurant had a lovely, inviting ambiance. It was a colorful, vibrant atmosphere met with amazing Spanish music playing. Overall, the entire experience was extremely positive from the food to the service. I highly recommend stopping by.

Very tasty. 45 minutes later we ask a busboy to check on our food. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen during this entire time. He never checked on us. After asking literally several minutes later our waiter appears and says two minutes for your food to get here. No apologies no offer to provide bread or something to help just two minutes. Well let's just say it wasn't two minutes. Many more minutes one of our dishes arrives. One of us tells him the service has been very slow and he walks off in a huff. Our other three dishes arrive in a couple more minutes. Only reason for two stars is the food is tasty. Super disappointed the Octopus and scallop dishes are super small. Two scallops and the skimpy octopus pieces were very disappointing for the prices. But they were good flavors. We can appreciate things happen they were busy when we arrived but the restaurant cleared out and it is obvious our meals were forgotten. To make zero attempt to say anything or apologize or offer anything is not professional. It appeared to us the waiter just does not care. He sent another very nice waitress to check on us after we were done and he disappeared once again. Will not ever be back!
