They have a huge selection of flavors, and every time we go in I end up standing there longer than I planned because there are so many tempting choices. It's the kind of problem every ice cream shop should have. The ice cream itself is outstanding. It's fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Every flavor we've tried has been excellent, and it's easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following. In my opinion, it's the best ice cream on the East Side. Just be prepared to wait if you're stopping by on a nice evening. The shop is fairly small inside, and it's not uncommon for the line to stretch right out the front door. Thankfully, the staff keeps things moving, and the wait has always been worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ice cream and the generous portions. Parking can be a little hit or miss since it's mostly street parking, although there are a handful of spaces behind the building. Somehow we've been lucky the last few visits and managed to grab a spot right out front, even when there was a long line. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the small space and limited parking can make visiting during peak hours a little less convenient. Once you have your ice cream, though, it's hard to complain. If you're looking for fantastic homemade ice cream in Providence, Three Sisters absolutely deserves a visit. Just bring a little patience if you're going on a warm summer evening.

Having a job that has me outside most of the day it is really nice to have a friendly space to stop in and cool off. There are no steps to get in, the menu board is large and readable, and they offer things like individual ice creams, smoothies, and milkshakes as well as larger tubs of their homemade ice cream, ice cream cakes, gift cards, and do in store pickup for online orders as well as delivery through doordash.

We didn't mind though because it gave us time to go through their massive menu. They have lots of soft and hard flavors, along with sundaes, shakes, and much more. My friend was set on trying their Dubai chocolate ice cream until he saw that it was a massive cup with an overwhelming amount of ice cream and toppings. Since we both decided on their apple pie ice cream, we shared their medium size ($6) to save a couple dollars compared to two smalls. We sat outside, but their tables are far, with very little lighting so it was sad. The apple pie ice cream literally taste like the first bite of vanilla ice cream over a slice of apple pie during thanksgiving dinner, without the cold and hot combo you get with the real experience. This is a seasonal flavor so it only comes around September, but I would highly recommend. I thought their prices were fair and aligned with most ice cream shops.

It was an absolutely beautiful day at the beach and evening so we decided to get coffee at the Gathering Grounds. Then we strolled back to the seating near the Grist Mill and the pond. Grabbed a few outdoor rocking chairs with a little table to rest our coffees on and enjoyed the beautifully manicured seating area watching the ducks, geese and birds while talking away and watching the sun set. To be honest I was kind of wishing I had brought a change of clothing to go into the restaurant but I was in board shorts, Crocs and a rash guard. However, the coffee and atmosphere was the perfect ending to a great day. I highly suggest that you not only enjoy the Old Grist Mill Tavern, Gathering Grounds and Four Echoes Vintage but to enjoy the beautiful property that is well cared for. Take a walk, enjoy the fresh air and the wild life too! I highly recommend the entire experience!

Ice cream, and sandwiches, which I liked the chicken salad on the sesame bagel. The pastries, also very good! we got the raspberry square and a chocolate chip cookie. Service was prompt, and polite. Parking is off street in a lot. Also right next to a little lake or whatever body of water, which makes it serene, in my opinion.

When we're craving something a little more thoughtful than the standard eggs-and-toast routine, this is where we land. The menu is creative without being over the top, the flavors are usually dialed in, and it consistently feels like brunch with intention. This last visit, however, turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. We sat at the bar around 1pm, which is our usual move. The service was great. We were welcomed right away and had drinks in front of us in no time. I ordered a draft Blue Moon and my partner went with a glass of wine. Both were cold, fresh, and exactly what they should be. We started with the lemon ricotta donuts. These were delightful. The texture was spot on, tender and light thanks to the ricotta, with that perfect sugar coating. I would have loved a slightly more assertive lemon flavor in the dough itself, but they smartly included thinly sliced lemon rind on top so you could dial it up yourself. A thoughtful touch and a really nice way to begin the meal. My partner ordered the avocado toast for her main and it was as beautiful as it was flavorful. The sourdough had a great chew and structure, the avocado was well seasoned, and the sprinkle of cotija brought just the right salty pop. Bright tomatoes, pickled onions, microgreens, everything worked together. This dish absolutely delivered. I went with the Eggs Benedict Florentine, which I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it missed the mark in a few areas. First, the poached eggs. The whites were a bit loose in spots and the yolks were slightly overdone. I know poaching can be tricky, it took me a while to master at home, but it was surprising to see the interior more cooked than expected while parts of the white still lacked structure. It was manageable, just not what I've come to expect here. Next was the mustard hollandaise. I was really looking forward to that punch of mustard, especially since I've had it shine before, but this time it felt muted. It was also looser than I prefer in a hollandaise. I love a good hollandaise, even better a béarnaise, and this one just didn't have the richness or body I was hoping for. Then there was the tomato. I understand we're not in peak tomato season, but even so, I can usually find more flavorful options at local markets and grocery stores. It appeared to be a standard beefsteak, and it just didn't bring much to the plate. A Campari or another variety with more natural sweetness and acidity would have elevated the dish and complemented the nicely cooked, flavorful spinach far better. On a positive note, the bolo was excellent. Such a great choice over the traditional English muffin and a perfect fit for a local spot like this. It had great texture and the slight sweetness usually balances the mustard hollandaise perfectly. Overall, Avenue N remains a place we truly enjoy. This visit just didn't quite live up to what we know they're capable of. I'm confident it was an off day, and we'll absolutely be back.
