This shit was so good I wish they had an IPO and a location in Arizona ... all gas no brakes good! Some of the best Ice Cream I've ever had 10/10. Josie's is my local neighborhood ice cream vendor. It's on the main road, offers ample parking (front and back.) Offers a few picnic tables, patio tables and adirondack chairs. There tends to be a wait. Their ice cream is ok, often rotating in new ice cream flavors and trying things like ice cream nachos. I am a hard sell, I like Lincoln Creamery better but there is nothing wrong with Josie's. It gets the job done. Today I tried a large chocolate frappe. It was 30 ounces for $9.01 and an exceptional value considering most places dispense 16 ounces for about $9.00. Overall tasty, but my nit pick was that it wasn't thoroughly mixed (there were lumps of chocolate ice cream,) and it was too loose. A true frappe should be almost impossible to draw thru a straw. Their frappes come in three sizes, and next time I'll try the medium bc their large was too much of a good thing! read more

Josie's Ice Cream was a stop for the 6th Annual Search for the Best Scoop Shop RI with RI Food Fights. There is parking up front and additional parking on the side. There are homemade flavors. I had a scoop of the purple haze. Purple haze is black raspberry ice cream layered with oreo chunks and white chocolate chips. I really enjoyed how the ice cream had big pieces of oreo and white chocolate chips. Service was wonderful. read more

My yearly review of Josie's. I love their homemade Icecream, dark chocolate and green monster are such a good combo. I had an issue once with the quality of the Icecream and the owner reached out to rectify the situation which I really appreciate. Sometimes it can get so upsetting when you have your once a week treat and it's not up to par, so I appreciate him recognizing that. Usually only one person is working so the line can get a little too long sometimes but other than that the homemade flavors are amazing. read more

If you live in Cumberland chances are you've made your ways to Josie's. A few more ice cream shops have popped up around town and there are the other two local staples, and to me Josie's is the third Cumberland ice cream institution. It reminds me of high school Summer nights and probably always will. Maybe it's the nostalgia that makes me love it! I was in town recently and in the mood for soft serve. You really can't find good soft serve where I live. I always use to get the peanut butter blast back in 2002-2005 so figured I'd go for the same thing in 2020 since the menu (and signs) remain unchanged. It was delicious and just as I remembered it. Layers of soft serve with tasty hot fudge, peanut butter, and peanut butter cookie crumbles. I also grabbed a cup of vanilla soft serve and a scoop of pistachio. All were tasty and my family had no complaints! I like that they specify which flavors they make and which flavors they get from Bliss. Bliss calls themselves a microcreamery so I still like that they are buying from the small local guys and not just a big name. Prices were reasonable! read more

I'm giving this place a straight down the middle review. On the one hand they have great sundaes and their quality of ice cream is the best in the area. On the other hand they only take cash and you are forced to eat on location because they don't have lids for sed sundaes or banana boats so it ends up a sticky mess if you attempt to travel home with your order. I've gone here a bunch of times so it's past due for a review. Staff is always extremely nice. Tons of different flavors (coffee Oreo is the best). Prices are reasonable. The only "bad" thing about this place is the line tends to quick long but you're never waiting very long. read more

Great place to visit. The staff are friendly and efficient. There is seating up by the order & pickup windows, or out back at some tables. The quality of the ice cream is top notch yet their prices are still reasonable. I believe they make a few flavors themselves and the rest comes from a local company. It's not mass produced stuff that's been in a deep freeze for months like you get at some places. On my latest visit I decided to try the key lime pie ice cream. I wish I hadn't, because all I can think about is going back for more! It is absolutely incredible and absolutely worth a try if you haven't had it yet. Unfortunately, this ice cream shop is not a place I will be returning to, and unfortunately I was not the only one tonight. For starters, they do not have fat free frozen yogurt. The ice cream they have is the company Bliss, which when I asked she asked another employee "Am I allowed to tell them what ice cream it is?" What kind of question is that? The black raspberry chip ice yogurt is NOT fat free as they claim! Secondly, my soft serve ice was soup. I ordered the Tuti Fruti flavor and it literally tasted like dish soap. I kindly asked for a remake of a different flavor and she happily remade it. As she went to hand me the new ice cream cone she told me that would be $3.19. I already PAID for the horrible tasting ice cream and they wouldn't make it up! To add to that; you can ONLY get the soft serve ice cream on the plain cone. Thirdly, this other poor women wasn't allowed to get chopped nuts on the one specific flavor of ice cream she wanted. The owner said it was due to fear of cross contamination. This stranger and I sadly walked away empty handed. To sum things up, won't be returning, the ice cream is terrible, and the new management reflects that. I will be going to Lincoln Creamery from now on! read more

Not impressed. I've been twice, once I tried their homemade cookie butter and it was not good, tasted like cheap store bought Ice cream. Second time I tried their soft serve vanilla it was also not good, it wasn't rich and creamy like Lincoln Creamery's which is my favorite, it also tasted cheap and artificial like McDonald's. read more

The selection was great and so were the girls working, this shop is under new management at the moment and seems to have a few kinks to work out. If you're looking for toppings on a cone that won't be an option. They gladly gave us all of our toppings on the side though! So after I put it together myself it was pretty good. My friend who came with me is on a diet and got a fat free option, excitedly she looked up the nutrition facts available on the bliss ice creams website, come to find out the flavor black raspberry chip frozen yogurt does NOT come in a fat free option from their provider! Feeling a bit disheartened by this experience so I won't be returning but I wouldn't exactly recommend against it. read more
