This place is no Joke! The amount of thought and effort that went into the design of this House of Bocce is impressive! The owner "Tony" has created a place for serious Bocce player, first time players and hungry diners to come and have a great experience. This is one of the best places to be able to hang out, have great drinks, great food, enjoy friends, and have a leisurely fun night playing bocce. We choose to have drinks, then sit down, but play for the 1.5 hours we got on the court. There are people to help you if you don't understand the game, but since we did, we jumped right in. It is fun because you can have conversations, enjoy the company while playing and maybe have a cocktail or two. It's so enjoyable! You can play then have a great sit down dinner with a very diversified menu or great munchies and drinks while you play. I had the veal piccata and my friend had the steak and shrimp. I wish my veal had not been breaded, but it was still really good. The vegetable side, which is usually sucky, was flavorful and unusual - a great change for the expected. We got the lemon cake dessert. Be forewarned... it's HUGE and can feed three people comfortably but it is worth the purchase... so clean and light tasting! This place is huge and awesome. What a fun environment with Italian food to die for. In the middle you have the bar and fine dining. Around the outskirts you have bocce ball courts (think lawn bowling), where other people are almost always playing (you can buy time on the courts too, and/or a lesson from one of the resident pros). It's like you are sitting in the Godfather's restaurant with all the old Don's talking about their bocce games, eating their various delicious italian cuisine, and sipping an endless supply of red wine. HELL YEAH! this is what it's all about. we showed up underdressed (casual, oops! - better to dress up here, even if it is business casual) and had a restaurant.com coupon on a busy night and they still seated us immediately, and without ANY hassle whatsoever (better than I can say for other places i've visited). This place is awesome. Not only does it have multiple Bocce courts, but they also serve food. THis place is great for work outings, a couples night out, or family get together. I was here a few weeks ago for a work event. Very casual, we had a few courts and had some pizzas and other appetizers brought to us while we played. It was a great time. Had so much fun, that I brought my family back the other week! We made reservations for a court (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!). Even though it wasn't that busy, there are a limited amount of courts, so to keep from having to wait, it is best to make a reservation. Each rental is for 90 minutes, so you could be waiting a bit. If you are not familiar with the game, no worries, they will send an expert over to your court and they will explain everything you need to know! Once we finished our game, we headed to the bar/restaurant are for dinner. The restaurant menu is different than the food you can order at the Bocce courts. More "meal" options. Build your own pasta among other things. We ordered the sausage and peppers and the calamari for an appetizer. The sausage and peppers was good, but the calamari was under cooked. We let the waitress know, and they took it off the bill. I had pasta and my parents had the eggplant parmigiana. Everything was very tasty. I'm sure we will be going back soon! read more

I went there with a group of people on a Sunday evening. The place was dead. For a little while, there were people using the court next to us, but there weren't very many people in the whole place. The server who took care of us at the courts was very good. She came over each time more people joined the group & got their drink orders, and when everyone had arrived, she explained to us how to play bocce. I'm not sure we did it exactly right, but we had a good time. The drinks seemed overpriced, however; my sister's glass of wine was $9, and my sangria was $8...although, I will say, it was a big glass of sangria. We then moved on to dinner at the restaurant, which seemed to be empty. We lost the server we had at the bocce courts and got a male server who thought he was a funny comedian. He wasn't. I ordered the chicken piccata. It came with a choice of soup or salad and wonderful, warm bread. They didn't seem to have any choices of salad dressing, but the house dressing was good. There were several pieces of boneless, skinless chicken breast (I know that's the current thing, but there's really no character to a naked piece of chicken) in the lemony sauce, with thin lemon rinds and capers. Alongside was a huge mound of mashed potatoes, broccoli and green beans. The chicken could've used a little bit of salt, and the broccoli was slightly overcooked, but it was good. And, it was plentiful; I got 2 full meals out of it! I do wish they'd used bigger boxes to pack up the leftovers, though; they just kind of stuffed everything into the little box all together, so I kind of had to dig everything out & separate it again; I'm not one of those people who can't have my food touching, but I also don't like a mound of potatoes with veggies & chicken coming out of it. They had Shrimp & Grits tonight and my rule in South Carolina is that I must try the shrimp & grits at any new restaurant - so that is what I had and it did not disappoint! Most of the reviews concentrate on the Bocci Ball but this is a very good Italian Restaurant in it's own right. Had dinner here with a large group about a week ago. Don't remember a lot about my food since it was quite chaotic, but I have the receipt so here's some info. Kids meals were great. One kid had Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs for $4.95. Another had Chicken Picatta for $5.95. Good sized portions too. One person complained that their food was a little on the cold side, but once again large party so take that one with a grain of salt. Entrees were all between $15.99 and $19.99 (ranging from Chicken Parm to Swordfish) and all came with a house salad. Glasses of wine were $4.99 to $6.95 for the ones our group ordered. Coffee was $2.49. Servers was fairly friendly. Dining "room" is very nice/classy. Two flat screen tvs by the bar. 3 1/2 stars for food/service. We really enjoyed our dinner here last night. They were packed with a lot of Christmas parties, but they sat us quickly. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Started with the fried ravioli that was very tasty. Also enjoyed the bread and oil brought to the table. 2 of us ordered the lasagna, one maple glazed salmon penne al forno and tortellini pesto. The soups that came with the meals were flavorful. We also got 2 of the desserts, the chocolate filled beignets (amazing) and the cassata cake and both were very good. Everything was great! I love this place! I've been here about 5 times and always have a good time. You can come for just the bocce, or make a whole dinner and evening out of it as they have a full bar and kitchen. The place is huge, with a bunch of courts, and they have someone refresh or teach you the game before you start. Then they leave you alone to do your thing. Everyone I've encountered has been extremely friendly and personable. Including the waitstaff. The menu is big, with plenty of delicious choices, and the ingredients are very fresh and tasty. This is allot of fun for a group of people that need a lawn bowling lesson. Wonderful bar and restaurant with seating in the middle of large lawn bowling courts. Rent a course for 90 min and practice on lawn bowling skills. Best to go at 3pm because the leagues will show up and take over. The food is getting better and better. read more

Service was beyond horrible. Had a reservation for bocce and then a dinner reservation. They came and told us our dinner reservation was ready but twenty minutes later after pestering someone at the front desk, we we're finally seated. Only came here to roll some bocce and have a few cocktails but from everything I experienced it was very cool. Never played bocce before but picked it up quick and the lanes in which you play are quite nice. We rented a lane between eight of us, four on four on each end, and there was a bar in our adjoining room to the main room and entry. This place has hosted a lot of charity events and has autographs and pictures of celebrities and such in a glass case by the door. Pretty cool! They dining area looked nice and offered traditional Italian fare from what I saw. Was intrigued to some day go back to try the food. I'm originally from Michigan, but my wife and I got married in San Diego - where she's from - this past August. Quite a few of my family and friends in and around Michigan were unable to attend our ceremony and festivities in San Diego, so we wanted to do something special in the form of a second wedding reception back in Michigan for them. We wanted something fun and memorable, but without making people get all dressed up, since we weren't about to throw on a tux and wedding dress again just for a reception. I had been to Palazzo before and suggested it to my wife and showed her some pictures. We saw they had the ability to host private events that included four bocce courts, an elaborate buffet, music, our own bar, and wait staff. We were sold. We had our event there this past Friday and it could not have been a bigger hit with all of my family and friends. I come from a huge Italian family, so bocce tournaments are regular staples in our family reunions, anyway. We had a very fun and competitive tournament, the food was great, we had a photo booth set up with another vendor, we were able to set up our wedding pictures, cake, and goodies for the guests to enjoy, and the staff was EXCEPTIONAL - all of them: the servers, the bartender, the bocce instructor, and the technical point person. They were incredibly attentive to every single one of our guests. We even had our own private entrance to our area, which made it feel even more exclusive for our guests. We and our guests could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. It felt very much like a second wedding reception, but without the need for everyone to get all dressed up again and with all the fun and mingling of the first one. It was perfect. Oh, and everyone LOVED the cannoli - they were fantastic! We would definitely consider hosting another big event or reunion there in the future if the opportunity arises. read more

Definitely a lot cleaner than your run of the mill fowling joint and definitely classier than a bowling alley. This place has about 10 lanes for bocce which can be rented for $10 per person for 80 minutes total. It's a great deal. They even have staffers to teach you how to play the game and others to feed you the foods and the drinks. Bonus points because the food is better than traditional bar food (think bruschetta and calamari). Also: they have a restaurant and bar in the middle. Not a good place to watch a game, although they do have two TVs. But you didn't come here to eat the foods or watch the game. You came here to be an old-Italian man playing bocce. Bocce ball and Italian food. Of course they go well together. I would love to bring this concept to Canada. We "stumbled" on this place via Yelp as it was close to our hotel. The food was quite good. The calamari fritti was tender and crispy. The soups were good. We had the pasta special and it was quite delicious. my husband needs gluten free pasta and it was cooked al-dente. We had the sicilian cake for dessert which was a nice light way to end the meal. Sangria tasted dangerously like a fruit punch... proceed with caution! This is not a authentic highend Italian restaurant but it supplies a clean fun environment that I would feel confident in bringing out of owners to and showing a great time. I admit I get giddy when I get to go here. I am like a little kid, I love this place. My only true gripe, and this is a biggie, is that they don't take reservations more than one week in advance. Really. So if you are planning that special occasion for twenty people to celebrate Aunt Sue's 60th birthday? This is not the place to plan on because you just don't know if you'll get a court reservation along with dinner until one week before. Other than that - love the place. You cannot describe it and do it justice. Cavernous. Mega huge. Yet still really quite lovely and charming. See? I sucked at describing it. Just go and see for yourself. Food is very good, typical Italian food. Don't like Italian? There are a few other options, but not many. You will enjoy your dinner with experienced and mindful waitstaff. The employees are good at what they do both for dining and for the games. Yes, there are employees watching you during the games - they ply you with drinks and encourage you to have fun. But they are ever watchful of that clock - they keep to the schedule so that the next reservation gets their time slot. Not finished with your game? Too bad, so sad, thank you for coming here. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this Bocce Ball Haven yet! We have been here a handful of times over the last few years. I do love that they have so many bocce ball courts. I think it is about 10 or 12 total. Lots of games to be played on a Saturday night. We had lucky court 7. Once the teacher gave us a run down on the rules we were off and bowling! It was great fun! We also had some yummy apps like calamari, artichoke dip (our fav bc of the creaminess), and a plate of meats n cheeses. All the foods were delish! We could not order from the dinner menu which was understood. We had drinks too; from draft brews, to blue margaritas, to glasses of wine. The wine was $10 (minimum) a glass. Yikes! And the waitress we had kicked us off our court promptly after 90 minutes in the middle of game two. Apparently there was a big party coming with 30 minutes.
