We were planning a quick trip out for dinner on a recent Tuesday night and decided to try this Italian spot conveniently located off of Briar Forest and the beltway. We had good food and attentive service in a cozy atmosphere. Not a cheap date, but definitely worth it for diners looking for tasty Italian fare and a nice selection of wine and beer. We arrived close to 8 p.m. and the restaurant was pretty much empty. But we felt welcome by our server. There were a few specials written on a chalk board, but the only Italian my dear one will eat is fettuccine Alfredo. This came with a house salad topped with a generous amount of olives, onions and mixed in a vinaigrette. He also hates vegetables but devoured the salad. A basket of crusty foccacia and oil with balsamic came quickly and there was no hassle when we asked for a refill. My chicken parmesan was delicious, a substantial portion of chicken with a tangy sauce and plenty of melted cheese. A side of the fettuccine Alfredo accompanied the chicken, which was silky and made we wish for more. My boyfriend's main dish was also substantial with a nice balance of mushrooms and chicken to sauce and noodles. He's a confessed picky eater and he loved his Alfredo. Definitely recommended as a destination for a romantic dinner or just a nice spot to fulfill those carb cravings. read more

I have one word to describe the food, service and restaurant overall.....FANTASTIC! This is my favorite Italian restaurant. I have dined in and ordered take out, and the service and food are always fantastic. This is how food service should be done. Palazzo's does everything right. This restaurant is in a strip center with Moderno's Tex Mex, Subway, Tiff's Treats, and a few others. There is a private parking lot, so no need to worry about paying for parking. There's a hostess that greets you upon entering, and will seat you according to the number in your party or preference if you have a favorite spot. Once seated, the waiter will definitely take care of you. I have been here with as many as 8 people, and our orders have always been correct. Believe me when I tell that Palazzo's does everything right! Every item on the menu is delicious! Even the salad! I don't eat sweets so I can't speak on their desserts, but I've been told that their desserts are good too. I urge you to stop by and make your own decision. Our group has been coming here regularly for months. There are six of us and we have come in for lunch often. We have always requested separate checks and there's never been a problem. Today, they no longer provide separate checks, and they impose a 20% gratuity. It's fine if a restaurant wants to adjust policy but being regulars, it would have been nice to know about the changes. I approached the manager/assistant manager, to which she replied that they do, in fact, offer separate checks. She asked where we were seated, and I pointed out our table. We noticed she approached our waiter, said something and then walked off. We asked her to come to our table to explain and she stated this was new policy. We asked about the included gratuity and she said that was also a new policy. Then walked away, no apology, nothing. Now, I for one, always tip even more than 20% if the service is good and even when it isn't at times. However, I won't be returning to this restaurant. We office next door and I plan to warn everyone I know about their new policy. Bad business. read more

This place is definitely a neighborhood hidden gem. The Italian cuisine here is very tasty and rich in flavor. On this particular visit I had the special that was on the board which was a red snapper which tasted very fresh and had been cooked to a perfect temperature. I also had their house salad which was a mixture of cucumbers, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and a very zesty salad dressing. I also tried there's sausage appetizer dish which was very good especially the tomato sauce that it comes with. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Their selection of mine was fairly good and appropriate for the price range. They had a wonderful list of Italian reds and whites. Came here for a quick lunch and it turned out to be one of the best seafood meals I've ever had. We had the salmon limone which was cooked perfectly and the tender grilled asparagus was great. The Fruitti de Mare was excellent and it was a large portion for being a lunch special. It had a good amount of shrimp, scallops, mussels, crab claws and redfish. Then there was the banana pudding! This is our new "go to" neighborhood Italian Restaurant. We've been a couple of times in the last two weeks and enjoyed both times. We really like their Almond Crusted Snapper. It's large enough to share. Their Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Chicken Piccata are also good. Although we haven't tried their desserts, they look incredible. We were last here on a Friday night. I had the chicken picatta and it was hot, fresh, and soft and buttery. My tomato soup was excellent. The waiter was an old school waiter that made sure he made your evening special. From the service to the food, Palazzo's is my new favorite place when I'm on the WSW side of Houston. The restaurant is cozy, clean, and inviting. The bread and oil divine. I had the chicken piccata and it had the perfect amount of lemon in the lemon butter cream sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy and the Angel hair pasta perfectly cooked. We came here with a family of 5 on a lonely Tuesday evening today. We knew they were closing soon so we rushed our order so the kitchen could meet their 9:30 deadline. We have an asparagus app, a pasta dish and a mussel plate. Coming from a restaurant background we noticed the mussels were rancid. We didn't mind paying for it but, would have like to have it noted with the chef. Our server was amazing and took our criticism accordingly and made note of it. The manager however came out and told us he heard about our problem and the best he could do was to comp the mussels. We were definitely not looking for a free meal but, his approach to the matter was so beyond unnecessary. "The best I can do" didn't sit well with me. We've been coming to palazzo's for 8 years now and it's always been amazing. The price is fantastic for everything you get. The wait staff have become like family to us, especially Robert. We did a pregnancy reveal with robert's help. We come here at least 3 times a month and it's my wife's and I Friday night spot and we live out in Pearland. Now, to the food, everything we've had on the menu is great. The bread is awesome. The piccata, chicken parm, lite pasta, pasta palazzo, among countless other dishes are amazing. Palazzo's offers great service and great food. The Pollo J.J. was well seasoned and attractively presented on the plate. The included grilled zucchini and squash rounds were cooked through without being mushy. The addition of grilled tomato slices was a good and unexpected addition. The portion of chicken and vegetables was great, leaving me enough for a second small meal. This dish was served very hot. The chicken was topped with mushrooms which were lacking in interest. character, and seasoning, a and that was the only part of the formula of this dish that could be done significantly better. The crab cake appetizer included two 3" cakes in a lemon butter pan sauce. These were good but could have used a bit more seasoning inside. The crab meat was claw meat. The cakes had small bits of crunchy celery which I love. These were not loaded down with bread crumbs and were very light and delicate in texture, not gummy or dense. The outsides had a thin crispy bread crumb coating. For $11 these were good, but not a great value. My only complaint about this restaurant was the downbeat, drowsy elevator Muzak that made me feel like I should be taking a nap or being sedated at the dentist. The music should instead be upbeat and perhaps include an Italian piece from time to time. Please change the music. Find something more upbeat and turn the volume down a small amount. Finally, the service here was great. The hostess was quick, and the servers were friendly and fast. I can get a good meal anywhere in this town, so having great service is a minimum standard for me. read more
