I live 1 year at Palermo and my experience was grateful, the manager and the staff where very nice and helpful when I need it. Never had complains about my neighbors or safety. Only thing, they do not have handicap access in front of the building. read more

This has been a great place to move in, Dana welcome us and gave us all the correct information from day 1, all was explained with detail before we even applied for the credit check and lease agreement, both Dana and Lesly from the lease office and management have provided us great service and have been attentive to any call or email regarding the unit, the maintenance team has been great as well, it's been such a great experience that we just renewed our lease for one more year. I did a half annual lease at Palermo apartments. During my stay, I appreciated the staff and community. When I encountered problems in my unit, the staff supported me and ensured the problems were resolved. Huge thanks to Anthony and Sylvia for always looking out. Good area and friendly people. I have never had a bad experience with anybody here and have enjoyed my stay.

My bathroom ceiling started to drip water and it only got worse. I called the emergency maintenance and they sent the cleaning lady who wipe stuff down but no maintenance could come by until the following morning. At 5 AM the water came down even worse than before and now my bathroom is flooded I've contacted emergency maintenance three times now and still nobody has come by I've only been here a week 2 days. I have been living here for about 2.5 years. So far I have no complaints about the apartment. My neighbors are nice and also management staffs are accommodating to my needs. It is a dog friendly apartment, the only feedback I would like to add is apartment needs to plant more grass for the dogs to go potty or add the doggie lawns. Sylvia, the housekeeper is really working hard to keep this apartment as clean as possible. read more

I've lived at Palermo for almost 4 months, and have to say the management at the property and off-site will continue to feed you lies and tell you want to hear, until you leave them alone. My girlfriend and I moved into a unit on the 3rd floor, expecting a peaceful and quiet community as we saw during our initial visit. Little did we know that the tenant living in the unit directly below us was mentally ill and caused noise disturbances every day in the middle of the night into the morning. He was screaming, singing, breaking things in his home, and we didn't feel safe to confront him. We didn't feel safe in our own home, nor could we get a quality night of sleep for 2 months. We complained several times to the management but all they told us was that the tenant was in the process of moving out in June. They offered to transfer us for a fee or end our lease, but would charge us $3,000 and 1 months rent to end it. After weeks of lack of sleep and tired of complaining, we paid to get transferred into a smaller unit for the same monthly rent. There was no sympathy for not being able to evict the tenant or provide us with a safe home we could sleep in. Everything was about business and no matter how many times we complained and escalated, we got the same lies, the same BS. 2 months later after the transfer, I still see the same tenant in the property. I still hear his loud screaming and singing from his window when I walk by. Despite knowing of the complaints, they allowed a new tenant to move into our old unit. Don't move into Palermo. The management treats you like a revenue number and has no sympathy to providing a good home. read more

EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF NAMED AIDA, POOR MAINTENANCE, TERRIBLE PARKING!!! If you want a good home life don't live in this place it's only going to bring you misery. Parking for tenants really is the worst that I have ever seen or lived in!! With cars parked on both sides of me they are parked so close I couldn't get out of my car. It's a horrible living situation at Palermo apts & the manager kept letting the maintenance workers to park in my parking space during the day. Office staff are very rude, they over-promise & under deliver, we had to call the Los Angeles Dept of Health to fix maintenance issues. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE & DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT, LOOK ELSEWHERE......... We moved out about a year ago, it was a terrible experience. Takes about 2 months for any type of work request to go through and management hires the most incompetent people. The on-site staff follow you around and harass the shit out of tenants and I assume this is one of the reasons why people stay in their apartments all the time. They also love doing apartment inspections which are actually illegal btw, but the staff loves it. Clean, ok for the price! No storage, parking sucks for tenants and non residents. Parking for tenants really is the worst that I have ever seen or lived in! My car was constantly being scratched by other tenants on both sides of vehicle, one time the cars parked on both sides of me parked so close I couldn't get out of car and literally had to get out of the trunk, thank god I have a hatch back!!!!I complained to management from day 1 regarding this issue. But really what can they do?!? They didn't design the parking structure! Just glad that my lease is up and realized the mistake of moving there. Laundry room always packed or something always being fixed in the laundry room, people will remove your clothes if your not careful and don't remove them yourself ASAP. Dogs do pee everywhere! And it is so disgusting!!! Also every so often you get brown water coming out of pipes, I will post photos to prove it!!! Cleaning lady does a great job cleaning around the building, and try's her best! She is very sweet and nice. I've notice someone is either always moving in or out? A lot of turn around in the building, we have been here almost 1 year. As of June 1st 2016 We moved as soon as our lease would allow us to do so. Got almost all of my security deposit back minus some deductions, grateful for getting that back. Received the check 21 days from move out date. They always had card operated washing machines, I would be shocked to see if they really replaced all of the washing machines. I will definitely check, since I still have friends that live in the building and I will update my review at that time and let you all know, if management is actually telling the truth. As far as Kelly's response to the brown water coming out of the pipes, this problem occurred on many numerous occasions and did not have anything to do with Big 5 burning down. It's very sad that she would blame that and not take responsibility for their actions. I have no reason to lie about anything on this review and am only telling my experience while living at Palermo Apartments. Hence that's why they have yelp. Even though we had a special condition we could not get any assistance from the property management. We were forced to leave because of our special situation. I have lived in this place since 2013 and while we have had issues throughout my time at this apartment complex. No apartment is perfect. Period. End of story. I don't rate an apartment on the issues that may occur...I rate them based on the staff's response to the issue. When there is an issue with my apartment, the management team is there to ensure that is issue is corrected as quickly as possible. If there was an issue about noise, the staff will address the issue via written correspondence reminding everyone about the quiet hours. If I had issues with flooding from my bathroom in my apartment. The staff was there to correct it...1130 at night. The management team apologized about the issue first thing in the morning. This is why I continue to stay at this apartment complex...because the staff truly care about their residents. There was a time that I didn't stop by the management office in a couple of months and I got a courtesy call making sure I was alright. That is what is truly all about. The actual idea of your property management team actually giving a damn. Other than one particular member of the management team that judges my man candles from Yankee Candles.... Still horrible living situation at Palermo. My car got towed because management did not give me the parking space on time and there is no public parking around this complex!!! All the streets are over crowded with cars around this apartment complex and nasty fumes and noises and dusts comes from CARMAX right next door. If you have a visitor, just let them park far away and have them walk thousands of miles to visit your apt. That was the only way for me and other teneants complain that parking is horrible if you have a visitor. Ppl always move in and out every weekend and block all the stairs and driveway with the loads of mattresses and large furnitures. Never have a peace at this apartment. Manager and her husband kept parking at my parking space and let construction guys to park at tenant's parking, because of no parking space!! I had to tell them every week to remove their truck!! Ugh So, it was POOL noise plus CARMAX auto noises !!!! Laundry room is overcrowded and ppl just remove your clothes on the dirty counter even when you are 2 mins later it stops spinning. Management also ripped off my DEPOSIT toward the end. I have been living at the complex for over 3 months now. Super friendly on-site staff. Big props to Fernando who has taken care of our random maintenance requests and is handled in a timely manner. The cleaning lady, Silvia is super sweet and friendly. The Sicily model is very unique yet different especially the walk-in closest as it's combined with the linen closet. My only little negative is the lack of storage in the one bedroom model, but having little storage helps to eliminate clutter. I am living the good and comfortable life at Palermo so far and look forward in living here long-term. read more

After living here for a few years, l was really sad to leave. The building itself was nice, and the management was always very pleasant and always willing to help. I know I had my share of mishaps, but they always were easily attainable to help me out. The fact that there was a pool and a fitness room was a plus. I truly recommend this place. For such a "high-end" apartment building, I'm shocked at how the residents treat the building & how management does nothing to keep this building safe. You have to watch your laundry as other tenants will take out your dryer load & out theirs in so they don't have to pay. Dogs urinate everywhere, walkways, elevator, hallways. Many are off leash & bite other dogs, taking no responsibility. The building behind has gang bangers that constantly party & hit cars in the back parking lot. Neighbors in the front of building sneak into gated parking garage & steal/damage property. Management says to call police & police say to complain to management. Kids run around with no supervision & end up in shady situations, hanging out in adult apartments that they shouldn't. Plumbing constantly leaks & has nasty black residue build-up, attracting roaches. read more

Wherever you roam, house is the place to finally end up relaxing and be yourself and hence we expect it to be safe,relaxing and a place you call it " My home ". Palermo is was such a lovely place for us to stay. Right next to all the big shopping place, close the to bus stop and on the main road and mainly too friendly and understanding staff who listen to your any small concern. They keep your life there interesting by organizing interesting events like halloween day, christmas party, pool party and every season they come out with something New. Aida in the management is right on action in reference to any request that we put in. Kelly is too friendly with a warm smile always. Sylvia is equally good. They have set a high target now that wherever i move, i expect my house and the management to be like Palermo and Aida. read more
