I used to really like Palermo's but not any more. One day I called in for a pizza and was told the price, when I got there I was told a higher price. I politely asked the cashier about the difference in price he proceeded to raise his voice and quoted me the higher price again . This isn't the first time I received attitude from Palermo's. I just wanted a pizza, not an attitude. Why do I have to put up with an attitude when I'm paying for an overpriced pizza ? I suspect that they are racist and I will not be ordering anything else from them, also the pizza doesn't taste the same. I think they changed the sauce or something. read more

Let me start by saying that this was by no means my first visit to Palermo's 95th. I, as well as family and friends, have been here many, many times. On Monday August 1, 2016, my family and I visited again for my younger daughters 'send off' celebration dinner before beginning college. (We came here for my older daughter's "send off" dinner too). There were 10 in our party. However this time....... WE HAD ONE OF THE BEST SERVERS EVER !!!! His real name is Mason, but we called him Fred (inside story- but a good one- I think I unofficially adopted him). Anyway..........Fred was charming, witty, quick, attentive, intuitive, friendly, helpful, patient and professional. Everything was timed out perfectly and he anticipated our every need. Fred took extremely good care of us- from the 17 year old to the 80 year old- he was on point !!!! The food was fantastic as usual, but next time you go, I would highly suggest you request Mason. Chicago has its well known Pizza spots, however my favorite pizza is now hands down Palermo's. Palermo's is a great restaurant with great options and a family environment. My go to is the regular crust, half sausage half spinach! The pizza is flavorful and you won't be disappointed. They have valet parking or you can park in the spacious lot. The servers are always helpful and courteous. read more

They gave a good pizza. But they staple the to go pizza package. It is so dangerous. I found one staple on tapped and two others falling off the kids or any of us could have easily swilled these , they keep warm oin a box they could god over te package. We visited last night for my grandson's birthday. The experience was terrible. 30 minutes for drinks, and over an hour for food with two little ones is ridiculous. The waitress was slow, and told us there was no bread when we asked. The experience from start to finish was not expected as we've never experienced this in our past experience with Palermos. The tables were so packed in the diningroom you felt like a sardine. Tables were cleaned, and prepared for the next group coming in but the customers that had been there weren't cared for before they moved on to the next. Very disappointed. read more

the worst service ever, they forgot the soup and salad and just brought the meal and said nothing. I ordered the veal malinase and it was the worst ever had, dry not taste no type of juice or anything on it . when a manager came by and asked how it was i told him and all he had to say they don't make it good there. last time for that place. read more

Never again will our family have a pizza delivered. The first time was 2 1/2 hours late, and this time 1 hour and 40 minutes later. Our pizza was cold and cost us $32 with a tip for a extra large cheese ans sausage. When we pick up our pizza it is great, but their delivery needs improvement!! read more

First time for us. We passed by a million times and said we should try them, finally did. food 5 Service 1 Atmosphere 3 If you park in the lot behind it is not intuitive Where you are supposed to enter. It's marked very well for carry out pick up. The actual entry point is on 95th street. The hostess was quick to seat us. The tables are very close together and the conversations at the tables are not conducive to an intimate dinner. Our server looked like Elvis. If this is his day job I think he should stick to impersonations. The calamari was incredible. The thin crust pizza was great also. The sauce is sweet kind of reminded me of Aurelio's. We asked for a small. Elvis brought a medium but said he caught the mistake and would charge for the small. Bring a water bottle because you won't get a refill, at least we tried several times. Elvis treated our requests as such. My glass of wine was great and I really wanted another one. Elvis where are you? The tables next to us had different waiters. Is it possible they have a scatter layout for servers? One table in each dining room? My only thought is that Elvis sang a couple songs down the street and then returned briefly to check on tables? The bus staff was very helpful. They cleared plates and brought the pizza back wrapped in a bag. Even that was comical, Elvis swung by and I asked for a bag for the pizza. He said oh " a box" I said "ok"-then the bus staff guy brought it in a bag. Correct me and then bring what everyone around me has. The hostess wished us a good night. I'd return for the food not for Elvis. Hopefully Elvis will leave the building soon. read more

Now this is a pizza. I've been coming here for years. The way they make the pizza is absolutely amazing. The sauce is a unique pizza sauce that I only taste over here. If I have a craving for pizza this is the pizza that I'm craving. I've tasted pizza and they all taste the same something about palermos pizza keeps me coming back. The service here is great. I've been eating at Palermo's for almost 20 years now and have never been disappointed. It's the best pizza I've ever eaten, and I've lived and dined at pizza places all around Chicago my whole life. But, it's not only their pizza that's fantastic, anything else I've ever gotten of their menu has been fantastic! They offer so much great food, you'll never be satisfied going there just once. Ordered a 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 sausage stuffed pizza. Was told delivery within the hour. Took 1 hr and 20 minutes and was the worst pizza ever. sausage and pepperoni mixed together on the "deep dish" pizza. And the crust was so thick and hard we ended up throwing it out. Never again! read more

Ordered for Carry-out the other night..ordered over the phone 1 large cheese and sausage pizza. When we got home..we got 2 large sausage pizza (it was in one box so we wouldnt know if there's one or two there..) and 1 Giardenera (whatev with spelling)..completely different order. Called the place to confrim our order coz we dont wanna be charge for 3 pizzas. Got into an argument with whoever it was on the phone and told us "IT WAS OUR MISTAKE". How would we know there's two freaking pizzas in one box..this place have been there for a really long time and its a family business...anyways to make the long story short.. THE MANAGER ASKED US TO RETURN ONE OF THE PIZZAS TO GET OUR MONEY BACK!!! WOW!!! Ordered a stuffed pizza that takes 50 mins to cook. Pizza arrived 55 mins later cold and the pizza was slide all to one side. Just a cold mess!!! Spoke to the manager who basically accused me of lying and the only thing he could do was send another one a take this one back?!?!?!? We are starving! Im not waiting another hour for dinner! Its a shame because of this they have lost mine and my families/friends business. I knew i should have ordered Giordanos! At least offer me 10% or something off i?! Love Palermo's. Great food, reasonable prices, and usually busy enough to where you don't feel like a weirdo being the only people in a place, but not so busy that you need to pack a lunch for the wait for a table. Solid Italian restaurant on the south side. The decor is dated but it has that classic family restaurant feel that you can't help but enjoy. Our server was excellent; she was quick, helpful, and very nice. Every dish at our table was delicious from the pasta with vodka sauce to the plain, broiled salmon and steamed veggies that wasn't on the menu but they were able to prepare for me. When we were done eating it looked as though we had hardly made a dent in our meals-portions are huge! No room for dessert but I know we would've liked to try their Tiramisu or Spunmoni. I absolutely love their pizza here, but I can't say the same for the other food. The atmosphere is old school Italy. Crowd tends to be on the older side. Great for family Dining. Grilled shrimp and squid is worth the trip! Reminded me of what I get served at a cafe along the Mediterranean Sea. Artichoke app was nice but that is due to the butter, garlic and bread crumb coma it may create...not filling but succulent! Wasn't overly impressed with the Veal Marsala and was a tad chewy. I went here for my birthday. Eggplant parm was tasty but service left a lot to be desired. Waitress forgot about our salads that come with our meal so they were brought out minutes before our entrees. She also would disappear for 15 min at a time and was very slow at refilling our drinks. I was also surprised that for a fine Italian restaurant they serve frozen appetizers. How hard is it to make fresh fried zucchini? I got vegetables as the side with my meal and it was also was reheated frozen vegetable medley. It wasn't horrible but I don't go to a nice restaurant to eat frozen food. read more

My absolute favorite Italian place hands down. This is the place by which I judge all others. The pizza (thin and deep) are divine with the best tomato sauce I have ever had. The mostaccioli is a lifelong favorite! The chicken parmand the garlic bread are out of this world. Yum! read more

Hands down, Palermo's thin and crispy pizza is my favorite pizza in chicago. I grew up on it and I LOVE the sweet tomato sauce and their sausage. I live in the loop now and on occasion my husband and I trek out to Oak Lawn to get my pizza fix. Let me be clear, the only reason we go out there is the pizza, it's really good. The service at the resturant was slow and unreliable. The ambiance of the resturant is dated. And it was PACKED at 5:00 on a Saturday night - despite the slow service (I'll give them this, the kitchen was probably slammed with dining room and takeout orders) and outdated decorations, the food is great. I'll keep coming back because of the food and not for the atmosphere or service. read more
