    Salad.

First time here. Visiting my sister in the area. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. They brought me Chicken Fettuccine, but they fixed it right away- not a problem, I also had a side salad with it. I didn't realize I was getting a salad and garlic knots, but the salad was great! Reminded me of Olive Garden with their Italian dressing in that cold cute bottle. I loved the chicken! I would definitely order again when visiting here again. My son and nephew had a cheese pizza. My 16-yo son rated it a 7/10. 16-yo Nephew 7-8/10. Unfortunately, I did not like the garlic knots. The service was excellent! The cashier was super nice and everyone was hustling in the kitchen. The manager or owner guy was very perceptive of everything going on. He got me my to go boxes when the girl was on the phone. Lots of TV's everywhere with football on. Very happy to choose this place as I have a 8 hour drive back to Utah tomorrow.

    20 wings

After a long day of football we decided to check around Buckeye area for a local pizza spot. Palermo's is located in a busy shopping center, but easily accessible from any direction. When we walked in we were greeted and took a few moments to look over the menu. We settled on fried zucchini for an appetizer as well as their special of 20 wings and an extra large pizza for 34.99. My husband ordered a small pitcher and a couple sodas for my boy and I. The inside of the location is what I've found to be pretty standard all around the valley when it comes to New York style spots. Basic tables and chairs including a few booths, limited decor, tv's and such. Our appetizer came out quickly and the zucchini was crisp; not soggy and falling apart when you bite into it which o liked. Dip it in some ranch and even better. Soon followed the wings and then the pizza. Again, just like the zucchini the wings were crispy, but not dry. While I liked the wings for the most part the sauce could've been a bit better flavor/spice for me. We ordered our pizza all pepperoni, but half add ham and black olives. Pizza looked great when it came out. Crust thin New York style, crust crisp yet foldable and not have it soggy and drooping. This is where I'm on the fence....while it was good and crispy, pepperoni good flavor, the pizza itself wasn't as hot as it should've been coming right out of the oven and the sauce lacked a bit. The flavor of the sauce was really mild and wished it had just a bit more of a kick. Not bad by any means and we had a great meal. Service was great and I always love to support the local spots around the valley. Next time I'll have to order some other items on the menu. I heard quite a few pasta dishes being ordered from other customers while we ate our meal. If you love pizza and New York style is a fave of yours I think you'd enjoy it.

3 slices of cheese! More than half of a pizza!

They have the best pizza in the area! Reminds me of the East Coast, the perfect amount of cheese, sauce, and dough! I ordered 3 slices of cheese and basically got a half of a pizza!

This is family! We've been coming to this pizza shop since our boys were five and six years old! No better feeling than having food that's cooked with love and ties to family! This team is the best in the valley and the pizza is the closest I can get back to New York! We will definitely be back next year!

I notice it can get quite busy around dinner time so I'd recommend reservations are expect to wait. The location is pretty small, but offers indoor and outdoor seating. We lucked out and were seated right away at a nice table near the back. After looking over the menu for a minute, we decided to try their pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, as well as a Caesar salad salad. We also ordered a few drinks. Service was friendly and it was a little noisy with a large party and a few other tables but still quite enough to have nice conversation. It's quite nice inside but doesn't feel overly fancy. I liked that we could see the cook making her pizza and putting it in the fire burning oven everything that came out to other tables looked delicious and smelled heavenly. We're already talking about when we're gonna come back and try so many things. The pizza is thin crust delicious, and didn't feel heavy after we were done eating. It was gluten-free . I don't have issues with gluten, but the pizza was just delicious. My husband said it was one of the best Caesar salads. He's had the garlic bread was good as well. It was a great stop and I'm glad we stopped in to check it out.

Both pizzas were interesting. The Lichfield Park pizza has pesto sauce and corn on it, as well as cheese, so you might get a slice of that after your "guests" scarf their first helping. You better grab a slice of the Brooklyn pizza right away, though, because it's a traditional-looking pizza with pepperoni and sausage. You won't get a second shot at a slice. You'll get to finish the rest of the "adult" strawberry & bacon salad, though, with spinach instead of lettuce, walnuts, strawberries, and bacon bits. It doesn't come with ranch or even ranch-colored dressing, so they might not risk trying a pinkish salad dressing as a dip for their pizza crust. It's a very good salad and helped my vacation digestion, since I'm not used to the 110° August heat. Papa Paul's Pizza is less than a mile away from my room at the Wigwam. Going there would even be walkable in the summer heat if the fences around the Wigwam had pedestrian gates. As it is, both driveway gates on that corner of the Wigwam are slotted through the perimeter fence far from the place where Papa Pauls and the resort are just across the street from each other. I'm too delicate for a 0.9-mile walk in that much sun. I enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar to rehydrate, though, while I waited for the pizzas to come out of the oven.

Limited wine list for an Italian restaurant. We started with a caesar salad to split - SO much cheese, it was too much. I understand some people like that, but I wish they would have lightened up the amount and just have people ask for more if they want that. I ordered the chicken & broccoli alfredo. Sauce was clearly made in house, but the pasta itself was generic and did not taste like it was homemade. Good amount of protein though. We also ordered the mango and classic cannolis, and these stole the show. Flaky to perfection! If we come back, we might try the pizzas to see how it compares to the pasta.

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.

World-class pizza in AZ!…read more I have traveled the world and had many Pizzas, and this is hands-down one of the best pizza places I've ever experienced. Tucked away in the Westgate Mall, it's a compact, modern little spot that likely gets buzzing during the lunch hour.
