We actually got a chuckle because the cashier told us our number of 54. We noticed all of the numbers were being read out in Spanish. So we're waiting, "cincuenta y dos... cincuenta y tres... fifty-four". When I went to get our food, I asked if they were told to say our number in English! Anyway, we've had their paletas before and they continue to be good. My wife's tres-leches was a bit too full of cake and not enough frozen cream but still really enjoyable. Especially since I just took hers and ordered her something different. My primary food was actually mango with chile and lemon juice. A bit pricey, but not unreasonable; especially for the amount of food. So if you're looking for some snacks, especially paletas, check them out.

After visiting a few of the other stores we made our way over to La Choco Salty & Sweet to grab a quick sweet to eat and support a local shop. From the outside it looks like just a chocolate shop, but the sweets section is just a small area up front and the rest of the store is tourist type products to buy like clothing, knick-knacks, etc. The sweets area is cute, they have a little cafe type area set up for a few people to sit and they have all the chocolates on display. Most of the treats look pretty good, but the prices are a bit high for some of the things. We generally enjoy grabbing a few truffles when visiting sweet spots like this so we selected four truffles to try. They do not have clear pricing in the case for the truffles nor do they provide any kind of hint to what is inside of some of them aside from the name of the truffle. I had asked the woman working what was inside one or two of them and she seemed annoyed I asked. We ended up getting the four we picked out anyway, and I was kind of bummed afterward. Not only were they $3+ EACH but they tasted like they had sat in the display case for several days. They were a bit hard, stale and didn't really have a lot of flavor to them so I was a little upset we had spent about $17 here on five things of chocolate that weren't really anything to write home about.

It has plenty of dessert offers (and most of them have pictures), so if you aren't familiar with Mexican desserts, you can still get by by picking something out of the photos without knowing much Spanish! The day I went I actually wanted Mango con Creme...but I supposed it came across as just Mango (and they just added chili and all the dusts for me). That said...everything was still fresh..and I guessed..saved me from all the additional calories! I would like to go back to this place to try other things though. No apology just acting like I was an inconvenience. So I went to a different place to get my burger I went through the drive-through and got my order taken and drove up to a drive-through window and was acknowledged, and I gave somebody else my money.
