I love Food Truck Tuesdays in Smyrna! A true delightful treat during the summer that I wish can…read moreeventually be offered up until Halloween! It's held at Taylor-Brawner Park off Atlanta Rd, which is a great location to spread out, have a mini picnic, and enjoy! The ambiance is family, community, and definitely giving summer! There's a playground for the kids, live music by local performers, and there are bathrooms with changing tables if you have littles that require them. It does get hot since this is Atlanta in the summer so prepare accordingly. The food trucks are mostly a variety yet there have been times when some of the trucks offered the same types of food (fries, tenders, burgers/sandwiches) which can be a buzz kill, so I would recommend going on the City of Smyrna government page on Facebook to see which trucks would be in attendance that day to avoid disappointment. There are some trucks that are there each Tuesday with the King of Pops being one of them. And they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Ding ding! Most of the vendors accept cards so having a mix of cash and cards is better but not required. Again, I love it and so does my family since there's something for everyone to enjoy! Attend, you won't be disappointed!

I arrived around 6:45pm and had no problem finding parking. The event is well organized and there are staff that direct you to open parking spaces. You know this is not in the city because there is no fee to park!! You heard me correctly-- FREE PARKING!! The crowd was a great mix, families with kids, couples, friends and tons of fur babies! There is not really any specific organized activity, but be creative. Some people had hammocks set up, balls to play kick ball with and some were just sitting or standing around talking. It's all about what you make it There were a ton of food truck options. I was overwhelmed, but did finally decided to try the Blaxican Food truck. I ordered the collard green quesadilla. The greens were seasoned with turkey meat and had a hint of spiciness to them. I enjoyed every bite of my order! I also had the infamous sesame fries from another truck. I can't recall the name of that truck, but if you see sesame fries on the menu order them. They are only $4.00 and will worth each dollar! Of course I had to have desert. I tried the praline pecan pie from the New Orleans themed truck! Oh my gosh, it is divine!!! If you are up for being around people, eating good, enjoying the beautiful weather, this is the spot to go on a Tuesday evening!

One of my favorite weekend traditions is exploring a new coffee shop every Sunday somewhere around the city, and this week I decided to give Rev Coffee a try. While I didn't order any food, several menu items looked tempting and worth trying on a future visit. I ordered the Iced Banana Pudding Latte, and it was delicious. What stood out even more was the customer service. The staff had genuinely positive energy, and the cashier was especially helpful in sharing his thoughts on the different drinks I was considering before making my choice. As someone who enjoys writing and working from coffee shops, my only suggestion would be a larger bar-style workspace for laptops and those of us who like to stand, pace, and type while working. It wasn't a deal breaker by any means. They also don't offer a military discount, but that's fairly common and never something I expect when visiting a coffee shop. Overall, I had a great experience. The atmosphere was inviting, the coffee was enjoyable, and the staff made a strong impression. I would definitely recommend Rev Coffee, and it has earned a spot in my regular rotation of coffee shop adventures.

It tastes freshly roasted and just better quality. That being said, they clearly didn't take my recommendation at all. Hubs ran in as I was feeling off. Been that way since radiation. Oh well. Anyway, he ordered Mr. Peanut and crème brûlée (crème brûlée is my favorite dessert to the extent he made me some just last week, from scratch! I have the best husband!). If you are going to call it crème brûlée at least make it sweet like the dessert is. This always tastes like coffee and milk. Mr Peanut has an after thought of peanut. It was sweeter than the CB. lol which doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever. It was decent but again, we want to taste the flavors. Wish they would make their own syrups. I drive out of my way for good coffee shops that make their own syrups. I am in that area often so maybe next time I order differently since I have established I do like their coffee, just not the drink recipe. For that, I'm not docking them. Ambiance, same as before, busy/crowded.

When I walked it, there was one lady in the back cooking and one lady sitting on the food expediting counter looking at her phone. Sitting in yoga pants on a counter in a restaurant where food will be passing over. Nice. Neither acknowledges me or greets me, but I'm off to the side reading the menu. Fine, not a big deal. I decide what to order and approach the register, front and center. Lady in the back continues cooking. Lady sitting on the counter continues to sit and look at her phone. Doesn't look up at me. Occasionally will look around the store blankly but never at me. Charitably, I assumed she didn't work there, maybe a friend of the cook keeping her company. Maybe the cook would be out to take my order when she's done. After at least a minute or two, the cook comes from the back. The counter lady puts her phone down and stands up. Sweet! Finally I can pay $8 for a very mediocre bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Now they're both standing in front of me, yet to say a word. I say hello and the counter lady says hi. And that's it for communication. They stand there blankly staring at me. I'm standing there experiencing the absolute oddest interaction I've ever had in a restaurant in front of two people who don't look like they're experiencing much at all. They looked at me but wouldn't say anything. They stood there for probably a solid 2 minutes staring at me. Finally I just turned around and left. If I were the owner and saw this interaction I would fire both of them. What an absolute terrible way to present your business. I will never come back. I will never recommend this place. If someone asks me about it, I'll tell them to actively avoid it. It's overpriced to begin with so you'd expect there to be something to make up for it. What an absolute waste of a great spot in downtown Smyrna.
