I have had 2 experiences with Palios Roanoke. One was a take out order about a year ago. Pizza was ok, but in a small town with other GREAT options, we never went back. We decided to dine-in this evening and the place was mildly busy. The manager took our order, he seemed utterly unfamiliar with the order system (maybe it was new?). After fumbling through it, we sat down and waited for our food. The place is clean and a put together nicely. The salad arrived, it was incorrect, we kept it, then 15 minutes later our children's cheese pizza arrived. Then another salad arrived that was also wrong, we only ordered 1, I kept it anyway? Then 40 minutes later our pizza arrived. The manager did a table touch and really just ignored or didn't understand our situation. He apologized for the pizza being late, but didn't understand we had several complications. Ohh, you have to get your own plates, silverware, pizza server, napkins, really anything you need. It is located at the half wall over where the pizzas come out. Your welcome. Just get a pizza at the Italian Bistro, service is 100% every time over the 17 years I have lived here. A nice departure from the "bread-y" pizza you get out here in Texas. The pizza comes on a Thin crust that tastes light with a savory but slightly sweet sauce. The pepperoni was not overly greasy and the salad tasted fresh. Second time ordering, the pizza was a bit burnt but that did not take away from the flavor. Much better option than the dominos and pizza huts of the world. Only complaint - they offer delivery but must be short staffed. Called there on a Sunday afternoon and the only delivery driver was not in yet so if I wanted delivery, I would have to wait 3 hours....I picked up. Hopefully, they'll hire enough staff to keep up. read more

Wonderful experience! We are visiting from out of town. The sweet manager found out we're staying at a nearby hotel, and offered multiple to-go boxes and cups to take back to our room. She was extremely friendly and kind. read more

We love the pizza here!! When we go, we always order to go so I can't speak much to the atmosphere in the restaurant. The Noah's and Scorcher pizzas are our favorite. Great salads and yummy ranch dressing, too. We will definitely return. I'm looking forward to going back for lunch when they have their $10 lunch deal! Yum! read more

The pizza is really good. I normally get their lunch specials and gluten free pizza option. Also try their wings. I rated them low because the customer service and their ordering system. They give you the option to order online but it's easier to just pick it up or call them instead. I waited over an hour, after placing an order for a pizza I had ordered on their website only to call and be told there's a glitch with placing online orders. So they get a lot of the online orders in late and that's why it takes longer. Also a few times they have messed up on my toppings when I was on lunch break and didn't have time for it to be remade. It's great pizza and I love the byob option! But the customer service really needs improvement! read more

I just went to Palio's. I got a pepperoni calzone and put some garlic-cheese sauce on it. I took a bite and thought Wow, this is Amazing! My sister is Gluten Free and Palio's offers GF options which is very helpful. I would definitely recommend Palio's. read more

Waiter was nice but did not understand anything that we were saying, but the food was great

I called Palio's at 8 p.m. today, a Saturday, to find out what time the restaurant closed. They told me 10 p.m. as advertised on their web site. So, I go out of my way on a cold and rainy night to get a bite and arrived there at 9:10 p.m. I pulled on the door and it was locked even though all the lights and the OPEN sign were on. They must've heard me because they instantly killed the all the lights. I wish I could give them a zero. It's no surprise that I won't be going back to patronize these jerks. read more

Ordered the King pizza and dry rub wings. I was asked if I had time so they could cook the wings longer to make them crispy. Sure! Got the food quickly and went home to eat. The wing were a little on the burnt side and the wing's and leg's skin was by far crisp, almost on the side of being not cooked or just rubbery. The pizza was good, lots of toppings, thin crust, crisp on the bottom, little doughy by the ingredients. Not sure about the flavor compared to the price, a little on the pricey side. Good pizza for sure. Deducting one star because they do not ever answer the phone. You have to either order online or go into the restaurant and order and then wait for your order to be made. Also kind of expensive unless you order the pizza special available only Monday-Wednesday. read more

This place appears to be managed by several teenage boys. When ordering we asked if they have Coke Zero and we're told "I have no idea, the soda machine is all the way in the back". When paying for your order you only get a receipt with the total. It doesn't show what you ordered or the price you paid for each item. Seemed very odd to me since every restaurant in America (even fast food) provide itemized receipts. Watched as employees put hands through their hair, scratched faces/noses etc then proceeded to handle food without washing first. Basically the type of stuff you expect from unsupervised teens. Service was definitely lacking. Stood in front of the register for probably 3 or 4 minutes before being acknowledged. After being acknowledged the guy went right back to doing what he was doing. I went around to the other side thinking maybe I was in the wrong spot to order. The guy apologized and again went back to what he was doing. I went back to the front to order. Again stood for another couple of minutes. There were at least 4 people behind the counter. I'm thinking, "Can somebody just take my order!" Pizza was ok. I gave it 3 stars: food was good, establishment is beautiful, staff needs work. They couldn't tell me if the Spinach is fresh,canned or frozen. They brought the pizza and calzone but no plates. I checked for a forks and knives to cut my little girls pizza in small pieces. She said they are at the station, I said I already checked. I asked for the free wifi code, they didn't know. It's very knew, but they are still working out the kinks. Someone needs to mentor them or quiz them about food items. Has potential, I'd come back in a couple of months. read more

We went today and had a great time. We really like their pizza and their service. Today they outdid themselves The restaurant was packed and the service was awesome because they knew they had a lot people. Tried a new pizza and loved it too. The staff was really nice. Be prepared to walk in and order up front, then you take a number and go to a table. Your food is brought to you, drinks are from a fountain machine towards the back of the restaurant. Food was very prompt for how fresh it was. I had the pasta arrigola and it was perfect. I always love when a dish is piping hot and served on very clean ceramic. Again, the staff was super accommodating and checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. My wife got a small order of cheese sticks as her meal and it was huge. Be warned when they say small they mean a 12 inch pizza crust size. All in all it was a decent meal, not too expensive, and a nice place. read more

Went in with the wife and had a large Greek salad and large pizza. Plenty of food for 2 people with some to take home. Service was good and I like the BYOB feature. Food was excellent. Had seen the reviews about not having forks and knives. They were available in 2 places in the restaurant so no issues. You should look at a menu online and decide what you want before going because they want to take your order as soon as you walk into the place. If you take a menu, go to your table to decide and then place your order, you can be in line behind all those who walked in after you. First time at Palios and it was amazing!!! Had a great time with BYOB feature and the restaurant was beautiful. The pizza was full of flavor and the staff was very attentive. Well, let's first start off with how wonderful it is to have a Palio's Pizza nearby Roanoke is sure growing, the food has continuously been satisfactory, the staff is spot on and very polite and well-mannered, but most importantly this location is ran by a couple of very young, but INCREDIBLE managers. I have had the pleasure of dealing with both Hannah and Katelyn and they are some great young ladies, they genuinely care about each and every order and if there just so happens to be a mistake they are the first to apologize and correct it. I see all of these reviews below and they are very incorrect yes the staff will make a couple mistakes, but they are new, what restaurant doesn't make the first month of opening?! Friendly, clean, yummy! Our kids love their pepperoni pizza, and our favorite is the Mediterranean pizza paired with a Greek salad. Lots of fresh toppings on the pizza and the crust is thin and crispy. The coffee machine in the back whips up delicious drinks to go with dessert--lattes, macchiatos, espressos, coffee with steamed milk, and hot chocolate. Service is quick and friendly. Been to Palio' s in other locations and food was great. Stopped by for lunch with a coworker and ordered there version of a supreme pizza and a calzone. The pizza ingredient must be expensive had 75 % percent of the pizza only had cheese on it, had maybe three pieces of peppers, maybe a 4 olives, and a spoon full of sausage. Positive - awesome Greek salad. Lots of "stuff", not all lettuce. Perfect amount of dressing. Son enjoyed the cheese bread. Both of us enjoyed our pizzas. Thin crust and again, plenty of toppings although I would have liked a little more cheese. That said, I didn't feel over full when I left. Really nice. They serve Blue Bell. They had me at Blue Bell. Improvement - the music is very LOUD. When I am eating out with someone I like to talk with them without having to shout or lean over my food. They were not busy and got our order wrong. Tried to bring son a salad instead of cheese bread. Ordered a chicken salad yesterday for lunch. Chicken was cooked but tasted gamey. 2 hours later i was vomiting.

First off, the staff and management are wonderful here. That being said, the pizza is okay. Nothing special for Trophy Club. My biggest problem was the meatball sub. I took two bites and was done.
