We came from 6 nights in the mountains and spent 1 night in our rooftop tent on an electric river site. It was the perfect spot in Palisade. The bathhouse was very clean and convenient. One side of the building had men and women restrooms with showers. The other side had family bathrooms with one toilet, one shower, and one sink. The bathhouse was air conditioned which was very appreciated! It was hot out!!! While we were sitting around our firebox campfire, staff rolled up on a golf cart with fresh peaches to try that were picked that day. That was a nice surprise! read more

The tent sites have their own river put in! There are a couple that sit right on the beach of the river. That is something I would only expect to get if I was overlanding somewhere. Staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Loved the free coffee in the morning and their convenient store was very convenient and well stocked. Showers were always clean. There are real cherry trees along the property line.. I snuck a couple handfuls. I would like to see the tent camp site get a real bathroom but the port a potty was very very clean. Cleanest ones I've ever been in. They are located pretty close to downtown palisade. We walked like a mile to the bike rental shop. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others! read more

From booking to checkout, the entire staff does a superior job. Cute store with the necessities, refreshing pool and luxurious bathrooms! The showers were so clean, NICE, and functional- loved the water pressure! Loved the dog run, quiet walking path along the river, and the giant lawn behind our cabin. Shady, quiet and the lush grass made the lawn so enjoyable and relaxing. Highly recommend the cabins. Clean, cute and spacious. The AC unit was a win! We very much enjoyed our stay at Basecamp RV Resort. The grounds are clean and very well kept. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We used to be an rv family for two years until we bought a house in CO. My husband had a spontaneous idea to buy a pop up camper and we stayed at Basecamp. I don't agree with the bad reviews I've seen on Yelp. This place is underrated! We had a great time, lots to do for kids like cornhole, Jenga, pool, walking along the river, and shade provided under the picnic tables in the common area. We will definitely be back! The gift shop/store also provides alcohol, snacks, merch, food, and other goodies. The staff is incredibly friendly/helpful, and the land is well maintained. You'll often see workers in their golf carts picking weeds from the gravel, and watering their plants. They planted some young trees and in a few years they will provide more shade. We will definitely be back. Our kids loved seeing the stars at night, and yes; even though the sprinklers woke us up, it was only once. & if other people don't like the noise of the train, pick a different location! We loved the grassy fields, and seeing the peach orchard. Great location right off the 70, and walking distance to an amazing winery! read more

Great place to stop for camping. We hit the river bottom camping spots. Tucked down by the river , surrounded by trees. It just doesn't get better than this!!! The bathrooms are super clean and so nice!!! Jim and Maria are great camp hosts. Super knowledgeable about the area so ask them if u are looking for something fun to do! Only drawback is the bugs. Basecamp seems to be very new, clean and is in a great location. The scenery is beautiful! I have to give a huge shoutout to the maintenance person (Shawn, I think?). We had a dead RV battery and we were (embarrassingly) clueless as to where the battery was on the vehicle. He was so patient with us, helping us find the correct battery and jumping it not once, but twice when it died again the next day. We stayed for 2 nights in the tent only area. where it is nice the RV's are away and we are on the river..... it was great loud. We were the only ones that did not everyone else. Everyone came and met in the group and took over all the other 14+sites. Super bummer so for 2 nights we had to listen to a group of 20 until 2 am. Mine you there were no kids in the group, all grown adults. Shouting, making some racial comments. I called and no one did anything. we stopped by the front desk on the first full day and no one cared. it was quite disappointing since we paid $100 to tent camp for 2 nights and couldn't even sleep. I feel like they should have been in a group site. It was nice to sit in the river. If you can find a spot. Such a bummer. The gentleman that drove by and check in and took our trash was so sweet. read more

I write this review at 1:55 am as I listen to the sprinklers slam into my fifth wheel. It sounds like I'm going through a car wash. This place can be called many things, but "resort" isn't one of them. It's dirty, the grass is horrible, the cherry orchard "bangs" ALL day, the train rolled through late at night. Our sites didn't even have a place for a door mat! Really!? Our friends' front door opened onto a sprinkler head! Ridiculous. You would think for these prices they could have patio pads for ALL their "resort" spots. I would never stay here again or ever recommend them. Terrible! read more

This campground is super clean, has lots of amenities and right up there with the friendliest staff we have encountered at any campground. Everyone from the front desk to the grounds staff met us with a smile and any information that we needed about the campground and activities in the surrounding area. The views are stunning. The campground is surrounded by the Bookcliff Mountains, Colorado River, peach tree orchards and vineyards. I read some negative reviews just prior to our stay regarding the sprinkler system and can say that there was absolutely no issue related to that during our stay. There is green grass which was much appreciated by us and our pups and requires irrigation. It also keeps the dust and rocks that make it into your camper to a minimum. We would stay at this campground anytime that we are in this area. read more

We like this campground as it is clean and has nice amenities. However, our last stay was pretty disappointing. Watch out for the sprinklers at night - the sprinkler next to our campsite went off twice each night (midnight and 3:30am) and it was a powerful jet of water directly into the side of our RV. That is not something anyone can sleep through. I contacted them about it twice and nobody helped, which made us quite disappointed with the customer service after paying such a high cost for a "resort". read more

We made a reservation here very last minute & were able to get a spot along the river. Far enough off the highway so there wasn't a lot of noise. Absolutely gorgeous views. I was here in May 2018 and as this is a new facility, the laundry and shower facilities are really nice. The swimming pool was under construction. The RV sites look nice, although there is very little shade. The tent sites are wonderful! They are down by the river and have lots of shade. There are quite a few tent sites so it would feel crowded if they were full. The tent sites have electricity, but no picnic tables, and only a porta-potty. You have to go up the hill for the other amenities. The price is a little high for tent camping, but it's way nicer than a cheap motel! read more

Took the kids for a quick overnight trip in Palisade. We were tent camping and chose one of the river bottom sites. Very shady, and clean. Plenty of room in each campsite. We rode bikes around the whole RV Park, and played in the river just steps from our campsite. The downtown of Palisade is just 3 minutes away, so we checked out a cool restaurant for dinner. The bath house was immaculate!!! My kids couldn't stop talking about how shiny and new it was! Definitely will stay here longer nextvtime read more

2018 Palisade Wine Fest. Three weeks before we bought our RV. I called to see about a spot and of course they were booked. I put my name on the wait list.. called every day for two weeks with no luck. Friday at 5PM I get a call with an opening due to a cancellation. Yes! Grab the RV and head over. Campsite #17. We've rv'ed all over the western US and we think this may be the nicest resort we've stayed at! It's just pristine. We have a 27 foot Class C and were touring Palisade with our two children and dog. The whole area is nestled between peach orchards with an overlook to the Colorado river. The sites are very generous and in amazing shape. There is a really well-kept pool and a sand play area. The bathrooms /showers were downright fancy and I so appreciated that they didn't shut them down for 2 hours a day to clean. Don't pass this resort up! read more

This was the worst campground i've ever stayed at. The dust was horrible, and the tent next to us had three kids under the age of five and 2 dogs, and was five feet away. We had reservations for two nights and left after one because we got zero sleep. They need to move sites farther apart. Awful. read more

We just returned from camping two nights in site 15 at Basecamp. We had a great time with our family and friends (our group booked 5 sites there for the weekend) and appreciated the close proximity to home for our first campout of the year. I would recommend Basecamp during times of the year that they are on "Winter Rate" pricing as they are actually cheaper than the nearby State Parks that we have traditionally stayed at for our first campout of the year. However, there were several reasons why I would absolutely not pay over $50/night to stay here during "peak season" (some sites appear to even be over $60/night during peak season). The low "winter" price and close location to home earned Basecamp an "average" rating, but the following items definitely detracted from this being an excellent stay: 1) The picnic tables at each site are made of unfinished and unsanded wood planks that are very rough and already cracking and splintering after one season. We had several small children in our group and it would be very easy for them to have gotten splinters from these tables. 2) The "family" bathroom/shower was absolutely filthy and is already in need of repair. The sink drain was full of hair, the shower curtain was stained, the shower itself was dirty, and there was water all over the floor from whomever had showered before I went in there to use the restroom. The baseboard around the shower is cracked and falling off of the wall. 3) There are no fire pits provided by Basecamp at the sites. You are welcome to bring your own, which we did, but it is definitely a hassle to have to remember to pack something extra that is usually a guarantee at any other park. Also, having to clean out a dirty fire pit when packing up for home is definitely undesirable. 4) If the wind shifts the wrong direction, there is an intensely strong smell of marijuana that fills the park. Given that Palisade supports recreational marijuana sales, I'd assume there is some type of grow operation happening nearby. While this may not be unpleasant to all guests (and may actually be a highlight for some, lol), it's not ideal for families with young children. 5) Pool area appears to be pretty average, maybe even kind of small if the park was packed on a hot summer day. I definitely don't think this single extra "amenity" warrants a $20/night seasonal upcharge as it's nothing exceptional. 6) The "playground" is a sand pit with large boulders for climbing. It's fine, and the kids really liked the sand, but my daughter was disappointed that there was no actual play equipment, such as a slide or swings, that she's become accustomed to at the State Parks and KOAs. 7) The sewer hookup is very far back at each site, definitely further back than is standard at other parks. My husband had to extend our sewer hose out completely to reach the hookup, despite being backed up all the way into the site. Others in our group had to back their trailers up further to be able to reach the hookup to dump. 9) Apparent "permanent residents" a few sites down had several bags of trash piled up outside their rig and tons of toys and equipment scattered all over their site. They also were letting their dog roam around unleashed, despite clear park rules about pets being leashed at all times. 10) Several of us found the website to be glitchy and confusing when trying to make reservations. Having to go through several pop up screens to complete a booking is not ideal. 11) No 2nd vehicle parking at sites 12) Lastly, two of the other families with us were "bumped" from the sites they had reserved without notice from Basecamp prior to their arrival. Luckily, there were open sites available close by, but it's still unprofessional for Basecamp to advertise those sites as "available" when they weren't and then to wait until arrival to notify the customer. Basecamp calls itself a "resort", but at best it's an average RV "Park". Don't expect luxury as the name suggests. read more

Stayed in October. Long pull-through site; stayed hooked up to tow. Empty park which made it feel roomy but I can tell if the park was full that it would feel tight. No site division. Spotty WiFi. Quiet and dark at night. Nice, fenced dog park with wood chips. Had horrible white water spots all over my motorhome the next morning. Super annoying. I think it was from their sprinklers. Had to wash my window before I could leave it was so bad! read more
