Nobody listen to what you're looking for here. I'll tan for a couple of weeks once or twice a year just to get a base and be done. But that doesn't matter here, the staff all want to just sell you the most expensive membership. They talked to me in circles until I finally just signed up. I just want a basic tan! Two months in I go to cancel because it's already longer than I needed and they insist I don't cancel but just freeze my account for like $8 bucks a month so I can get half off sessions any time I want. Fine. Two months they've been charging me the "freeze" fee. Finally I come in to take advantage of a half off session but no, I'm being charged full price and the girl at the counter can't find any way around. Not her fault. She must be new because she's still nice and not just suggesting I pay for something else I don't need. This place just sucks! Zero integrity. One guy there told me I should buy the overpriced lotions they have instead of the less expensive one I got on Amazon because there's no way to know how long the one I bought has just been sitting in a warehouse. Wtf! Like how do you know how long the ones you have in store sat in a warehouse before they sent? read more

I have been a member for many years. Although inactive I have gone through auto pay before. When I came back, I only needed a month before my daughter's wedding and a trip to Kauai. I was assured that if I canceled by the 24th I would be good for just one month. I canceled on the 24th (a Friday). I received a response by email that they were sorry to see me go but that I had to go through at least one auto pay before cancellation which I had done prior. I was still charged for another month! I would NEVER recommend a business that doesn't stand by what you are told specifically! Don't go here. They will rip you off!! read more

Palm Beach Tan is my meditation zone. Every girl there is extremely knowledgeable and friendly making you feel welcome and valued. The district manager addressed a concern of mine less than 24 hours after I wrote my email. They TRULY pride themselves on customer service and meeting customer's expectations. Miranda is my RAY OF SUNSHINE she remembered my name on my 2nd visit and is always willing to answer questions and tip me off on any new products! She'll remember my bed preference/mystic color and even where we left off on our last conversation! The beds, and facilities are always extra neat on her shift. What a scam! If I could give a ZERO star I would. They advertise for one price on line then don't honor it when you sign up! I was overcharged and they refused to do anything about it at the corporate level. Clearly they do not care about their customers. And to make things worse, when I found the service awful at this place, they still charged me for another month when I didn't want to return after the first week. What a commotion off. BEST experience ever!! I love this place. I've used their COSTA MESA location and Tustin location. Both are very clean and well maintained. Great Customer Service but now that thier top of the line bed has problems with not all the lights working, contacted corporate and told them not all the lights are working and I did get a discount but the bed still has not been fixed 2 weeks later. This is a great place but all of a sudden it's falling apart. The staff there Gabi,Kat are awesome , kind, really nice and professional yet thier management can't get things fixed in a timely manner. Hopefully this gets fixed soon so I can update it as my last post was 5 . Come on management. Let me tan for free and I won't post or complain Look at all the one stars or two stars. I used to go to a local tanning salon in Lake Forrest before PBT bought them out. When they said they would honor my yearly diamond membership, I thought that meant I could count on it. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that a contract doesn't mean a anything to this place. After coming to PBT for spray tans for 10 months, they called to try to sell me a membership. I opted out since I don't have the time to go tanning often anymore and it didn't make sense for me to buy one. On my next visit, I was suddenly informed that my membership didn't include my spray tans anymore and I had to pay out of pocket. Nothing had changed. It took the guy 30 minutes to clean the room when the room I typically used was wide open, I have no idea what he was doing for so long. He then informed me I could no longer use my membership that had two months left. They didn't work with me at all and just said, "Oh sorry, nothing we can do." It was absolutely insane that they would up and change a contract on a customer for no reason and make up some excuse about how the system is different now and they can't do anything about it. The manager showed up and tried saying their spray machines are different (the spray tan machines they have are awful, the dark is the only color that slightly shows up and they charge an arm and a leg for it) I wish I had known that a contract doesn't mean a contract to this place, or I would have fought to get my money back instead of transferring a membership to this corporation that genuinely enjoys screwing over customers. Not to mention the staff here are extremely passive and unhelpful. read more

Avoid this place like the plague !! Buyer beware !! Avoid future regret !! This review is based on monthly memberships, canceling memberships and how customer service handled errors on their part. If you cancel or put our account on hold online they will claim they didn't receive your request. Software issue ? I don't know. If you follow up with your request to cancel in person, they say, "They will call you" but fail to do that as well. Call after call, email after email, no resolve. They charged my account when they shouldn't have. I followed their instructions to hold my account by management (Brittany) I should have been refunded. It comes off like they can just say they didn't get your request and take your money. read more

Two girls at front were very sweet and explained the differences between the packages as well as explaining my options. I really like this tanning salon so far. I went in for my second time today after purchasing a diamond tanning subscription yesterday (I believe Amanda was the name of the employee who helped me and she was very helpful and sweet and was also there today when I went and remembered my name and everything-great customer service) I had called ahead to ask about the subscription prices which she told me and then also told me about the AWESOME deal going on right now where you pay only $21 and get the whole month unlimited tanning and don't pay your first full tanning subscription price until a full month of use. This is for the diamond subscription only I believe (which is the very best one-unlimited bed and spray tanning and 30% off tanning lotions, so I also bought a tanning lotion for $120 instead of $160) I know it's a tad expensive for lotion but tanning lotion is expensive everywhere (unless you buy online and I don't really trust buying tanning lotion online) and Amanda was very helpful with helping me pick out the lotion for the best results for me- I went with the Stardom Brand. She also helped explain the process of getting a base tan in the gold bed and then moving up to the diamond. I did the gold tan bed yesterday and the diamond today. The diamond beds bulbs were just changed so we're extra powerful and it was recommended to go in for only 5 min (you can choose to go longer it's just a recommendation) I chose for 10 min and then got out at 7 min and put a towel over my face for 5 of the 7 min just to protect my face a little more. I really recommend Palm Beach Tan- I called around at a few different tanning salons in the area and theirs was the best deal by far and they have quite a few locations. It is virtually impossible to cancel a membership here, tread lightly. Even when my card was renewed, they somehow got my new credit card info and began charging that card. I've tried for the past year to cancel and they won't unless I give them another credit card number? Seriously? Beware getting into a membership here. I actually got color unlike at HB tanning where the bulbs hardly come on, they flicker the entire time and then you leave just as pale as when you arrived. plus, and added bonus, much more professional staff who don't talk crap about the clients while they're still in the rooms. I signed up for a stand up membership with the intention to cancel after the first month since I tan easily and maintain it for the rest of the year.. I was told I could cancel as soon as I saw a second part of the transaction hit my account- so I did. (You also have the option to pay a small monthly fee to "freeze" your account to avoid paying another initiation fee). I'm hoping I don't run into any issues as far as Palm Beach continuing to charge my card like other reviews are stating. I'm happy to update this review if anything changes. She manages to take the effort to say something pleasant, learn regular customer preferences and create an experience that makes us want to come back to their location. I have been tanning, and have visited many tanning salons for years. I have never come across a place like Palm Beach Tanning. I go to the location on Harbor and Adams. EVERYONE there is always friendly and helpful. They answer any questions you may have, and are well informed in all the products they sell. The beds and salon are always clean, and the bulbs are always being replaced, so you get the best tan possible. They also have stand up, and Mystic Spray Tan Booths which are amazing. I've been coming here for a while now and literally every time I've gone in, something different happens to my membership. I've had tans disappear and I've been charged different prices for the higher beds multiple times (with the same membership). The staff is very uneducated on the guidelines of this establishment . I just called yesterday and was told my membership is still good, then drove 25 min to be told it isn't in the system. I've wasted my time and money so much with this place. Upsetting because I like most of the staff here. I don't think it is their fault that they don't know what's going on with these memberships. I will not come back to this place. read more

I was a member at a small Tanning Salon for roughly 8 months where I paid a monthly fee to have unlimited services. Out of the blue the place closed with zero notification...no email, call, or even a verbal warning when I was there three days before the place vanished into thin air. You can imagine my frustration when a month later a charge appeared on my credit card for a new unheard of tanning salon: Palm Beach Tan. When I went in to discuss my options I worked with Sarah who was absolutely amazing. Not only did she patiently listen to my story she went over multiple discounted options to accommodate for the inconvenience. She gave me a full tour of the facility and let me try the highest level bed before deciding if I wanted to continue my membership or receive a full refund. On top of everything else, she let me use her personal lotion because mine had been misplaced in the transition. She handled the awkward situation extremely professionally. I would recommend this place to anybody solely because of Sarah's outstanding performance. If you decide to check out this location make sure to ask for her. I personally really like the beds, and the mystic HD. Most of the girls are very nice.. except one. She is platinum blonde and calls herself the assistant manager. Every time I go in there I get berated with up-sales. Go in for a spray tanning session and she will scare you into buying a the extra bronzer along with NEW LOTION (seriously) ...she makes me feel extremely uncomfortable every time i go in there I had to cancel my membership. Not to mention if it is a little busy she will run around freaking out.. its very unprofessional and uncomfortable.. The girls gave me a tour,educated me on beds I was unsure about and showed me a few different lotions that sounded up my alley. I didn't purchase a package yet! Just started Tanning here at Palm Beach and I am enjoying my tanning experience. Today was my 3rd day of tanning. I am an experienced tanner and like to get a slow base before summer starts. I am very safe when it comes to tanning and love that this salon promotes healthy and safe tanning. My first day going into try this Palm Beach Salon it was pretty busy, but Nicole was very attentive to everyone walking into the store. She has a wonderful personality and was very informative about all the beds. Tonight on my 3rd night tanning and upgraded to level 3 and loved it. Best Advice, only pay as you go and do not go for their up-selling techniques. No matter how much $ they get from you, it is not enough, even when they do not have it coming. I signed up for a membership and got burned by using the high intensity bed for a full 10 minutes the first time I went in. My skin is tough but my butt does not see a lot of sun so it did not do so well. I told their manager about the experience and that my dermatologist told me he did not want me using the equipment anymore so I canceled my membership at the end of January. I just found (2) recent billings on my card from them in April and May even though I have not been there since January. On 5/3/14 I went into the Costa Mesa location to solve the issue. The girl who helped me was nice and understanding. She told me she would have the manager call me back, she never did. On 5/14/14 II finally reached the manager to get a credit for the unauthorized charges. She spoke to her district manager and agreed to give me a store credit.. I guess I must have been very unclear with my request and I told her, not interested in a store credit since I am not going to use their services any longer., The manager was very eager to point out the terms and conditions and that they are not responsible for burns due to over exposure. I told her all I want is the credit for the unauthorized charges that were made after I canceled and after I stopped using their services over 3 months ago. in closing, the manager was unwilling to give me the number for the district manager and the phone number that they list with the on credit card transaction which is logged with the bank is not in service. I don't have anything bad to say about this Palm Beach Tan. All the girls that work here are extremely nice and welcoming, and very knowledgable. They always help me choose which shade to do when getting my spray tan, and take the time to explain my options-like adding a bronzer and what that will do to the overall color, etc. Before coming here, I didn't know I even had so many options when choosing a bed and spray tan color. I love that you can do their "cocktail," which means you tan and spray the same day. It takes about 6 hours for the spray tan to develop before you can shower. After a quick rinse, I have the perfect tan-dark enough to look like I have been out in the sun, but not all orangey/fake looking like I had pictured might happen before the first time I tried it. I'm hooked! They even called to follow up and see how my spray tan turned out when I had a difficult time deciding. They care about their customers! Great job to all the employees! You girls really know what customer service is and how to make everyone who walks through the door feel welcome and comfortable. I would recommend this location to anyone!!! read more
