Poor management. Misleading me to believe we could use my credit for future tans, now they say only products! well the credit was for a $70 bottle of lotion that my daughtercould not use due to a severe nut allergy. the whole process took close to a month to get worked out and all I wanted was a refund. I do not recommend due to pressure of buying memberships and products. Go elsewhere. read more

Well there's a reason they have poor reviews. I just wanted to tan for a week and a half before a wedding I am in. No interest in signing up for a membership especially seeing the previous reviews where they make it difficult to cancel. I went once and the girl was nice. When I tried to go today the manager Ashley was there and she was rude. Tried to sign me up for a membership and was making it difficult for me to go tan. So I just said forget it. They charge you out the wazoo for a single tan and just try to get you to sign up for a membership. I'll be driving farther to go to Bronze Tan which have great reviews, much better pricing and much better customer service. Try to have a little less attitude and maybe consider an option to buy a select number of tans. Not everyone wants a membership. read more

I have been paying $100 a month for a membership for over two years now. Every time I go to one of your locations it is always fucking closed for some bullshit reason. I mean literally every store closes three hours early every other day. I'm not gonna keep paying $100 a month if you're never open. you're supposed to be open until 9pm like your website says and every store in Saint Louis thinks it's okay to just put a hand written note on the door saying "closing early today sorry for the inconvenience" and closes at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm every other day. You need to either give your customers a refund for not being able to use the membership that they're paying for or you need to lower the cost of a membership because it's not worth $100 every month if your never open. It's not just me that is becoming aggravated by this, the times where I go into one of your stores and it's shockingly actually open, I always hear another customer complaining about this same exact thing. You need to fix this or people are going to start taking there business else where. Sick of paying for something that I can never use. read more

I pay for the best package they have for 100.00 a month only to learn that their hours are crap so if you work early you can't tan or if you work past 7 you can't tan . It used to not be this way .. so I thought I could maybe tan twice a week just on weekends an hour before work so Saturday I arrive at 12 and I find a note temporarily closed please use another location so I go to Bridgeton and tanned and sure enough I was late for work so today being Sunday I drive over to Bridgeton an hour before work and the lady says you can't tan until 12:21 I was so pissed I said my location closed without notice and made me late so I drive across town to come here and your going to make me late again no I can't wait and let her know how disgusted I was with the operation read more

I have always heard good things about this place, but boy was I wrong. I always go to Xtreme Tan, but decided to try out Palm Beach Tan because it was closer to where I needed to be at the time. I walked in and asked for a simple spray tan, and the girl seemed to have no idea how to give it to me without having me sign up for a membership. Eventually, after calling her manager she was able to have me pay an absurd $35 for one spray tan. She then walked me back to the room, put in the dark color like I asked for, and left. Thankfully I gotten done one before, but if not I would've had no idea what I was doing. I got in the booth, and was sprayed and dried. When I walked out and looked in the mirror, I was the exact same color as I was before. I got dressed, walked into the lobby, and asked the lady working if I was supposed to develop overtime or if the machine doesn't work. She had no idea what was wrong, and put me back through the machine with the dark color for a second time. The exact same thing happened, like I expected. I walked out again and showed her my body and we both noticed no difference. By this time I was there for at least 20 minutes. She called her manager and had no idea what was going on. Eventually she ended up having me leave without any color with my dance was the next day. I had no time to come back later and she didn't even give me a refund. Finally, after calling 4 times to get refunded, I was refunded the wrong amount. My total was $35.45, and I was only refunded $30. I'm so irritated at this point that I don't even want to call back. I will never be going back here, and will never recommend it. read more

Worst tanning salon experience ever!!!!! They trick you with special that sound good-till you get in and the special only applies to a crap bed w a fan that doesn't work. If your claustrophobic you are screwed. Tried the level 1&2 neither were worth the time. Upgrades are expensive. Go somewhere else-you will be glad you did. read more

When you try to cancel or place your membership on hold, you will still be billed. When you try to get a refund, the manager is very cooperative and will send an email to corporate. That email falls on deaf ears and you don't get a refund. When you back into the store, the manager apologizes and speaks directly to the district manager (who just happened to be there in the store). The district manager won't come out and speak with you, but will tell the manager to send an email to corporate. That also will fall on deaf ears. If you try to contact corporate, you get a voicemail for customer care who says they will call you back in a few days. If you ever plan to cancel, hold your britches, you're going to get hosed big time. Thieves. read more

This place is beyond frustrating. I ended up signing up for the membership and I asked the girl when I had to cancel it by and she said the 31st although I cancelled it prior to that. Long behold I look at my credit card statement on the 11th of the next month AFTER I called it and they hit my card again for another month. I ended up calling the store, and the girl was less than empathetic and said oh the girl must have worded it wrong. No sweetheart, it is called customer service and if you end up messing something up, you should make a wrong a right for your customer. About a year ago I went into this tanning salon. I was put in a bed that still had tingle lotion on the bed, which not only lead to an incredibly uncomfortable tan, but also lead to me being fried. I ended up putting my account on hold because of this incident. This past week I went in to cancel my membership. Both the assistant manager and the manager were both working. I had several dollars built up, and asked to unfreeze my account, use that money to unfreeze, and then cancel the membership. I got the run around, being told I should just wait til the 15th to cancel. This is a classic tactic to try and get a customer to forget about their membership, so they continue paying for a service they are not using. It took me pushing and basically forcing the assistant manger helping me to cancel my membership while I was in the store. I also had the store manager standing behind her being extremely rude. I would recommend just going to Planet Fitness. Tanning there is much cheaper, and you will get about the same level of customer service. read more

I've been tanning here for a few years and I'm saddened by some of the reviews I've read on Yelp. I've never had a bad experience. The people working the counter are always so nice and most remember me by name when I come in. New tanning products are always suggested and explained but I've never felt any pressure to purchase them, or anything for that matter. The location is always clean, the lobby, the tanning and spray tan rooms, as well as the bathroom, are always in great condition. I've always had blending cream, baby wipes, nose filters, hairnets, and clean towels in the room. (Sometimes there is a can of spray deodorant, but not every time. I generally bring my own personal care items so this doesn't affect me; also, I don't really feel it's the Palm Beach's responsibility to suggest something as basic as reapplying deodorant after a tan. That's just proper hygiene in my opinion. Anyway, I would recommend going here. read more

Customer service was not great. First of all, I went in for a Mystic Tan. It was my first time at this particular location but thankfully not my first time to Mystic Tan. But I'll get back to that. I asked for the mystic tan and she up-sold me some priming product and a color additive. The girl who rang me up said it would be $35 then ran my debit card. When I signed the receipt I noticed it said $15.38. Me, being the honest person that I am, brought it to her attention. She said, "Oops! Well, I guess that's how much you get to pay today." I said, "Are you sure?" She said "Yes." so I put my card away. She must have thought better about it and said "Wait, I need to charge you for the tan. It only charged you for the product." I said, "Oh ok." and got my card back out. and she charged me $20 more. Then she took me to the room and spent about 10 seconds explaining how it works. Thank goodness I had done it before. If I hadn't it would have been bad. She left without explaining how to stand, turn, apply the blending cream on my hands and feet wear a hairnet. The only thing she said was something like, "The 1 is kind of rubbed off on the footprint...so that's the 1. and pointed" There was barely any blending cream left in the bottle, I had to unscrew the pump and shake it repeatedly to get any out. Most Mystic Tan booths have a video screen going over what your need to do, the hairnets, blending cream, ways to stand etc. There was none of that. After the spray tan I realized I had forgot to use the primer that she had up-sold me. It was in an obviously unopened package and I had just bought it before so I thought I would just ask for a refund. Nope! She wouldn't refund me the $11 so I asked for an exchange. The only other product she said I could exchange it for was an additional $10 so I just left with my primer I'll probably never use. Not a great experience and I won't be back. read more
