I been here many times. But never when they are so busy. The lady at front desk was amazing. Very nice. However their breaker system jumped while I was in the bed. Cut my time short. I've been coming here for 2-3 years now. I've met also today great people. The same people worked there for years, and during the summer, I took time off and tried another salon. But, I missed my regular salon PBT! They're super great if you're having a problem. Let's say you purchase a lotion, use it and don't like it. You can return it. The longer you stay, the more benefits, tan dollars and discounts you receive. There is a new staff there now, and I'm getting to know everyone, but everyone seems super great. The manger is AMAZING! Where as some salons are so pressed to to get their commission from sales, she literally just tries to find you the BEST deals! She's super honest, upfront, knowledgeable and above all, she's fantastic and so sweet. There are multiple levels/ packages to choose from. I suggest the best one. I'm grandfathered in on there old price because I've been here so long, but for $130 a month, you receive access to ALL beds, and spray booths (Versa Spa and Mystic), you receive 30% off lotions and other products, and every month you receive different discounts. You also earn "Tan Dollars", to use on anything. Whether it's an upgrade, candles, lotions, after care (which is very important) or any of their goodies. PBT now offers their own cocktail of spray tanning products. Instead of just using Versa Spas sugar based spray, PBT has a Aloe based spray. I tried it last week for the first time and loved it. It's literally designed for each individual skin tone. I'm trying to explain it the best as I can, so the only thing I can compare to is let's say foundation. Some of us are fair skinned, some of us are olive and deeper toned. You can actually choose a cocktail of different sprays, to complement your skin tone, so you don't look orange each and all that jazz. I've always used Versa Spa, but I like this better. Anyone who spray tans or cocktail tans (which is what I do), knows that eventually your spray tan is going to fade. I've noticed with they are new spray option, that my spray tan fades evenly and not patchy. It's also aloe-based and I personally felt as though I wasn't getting that dry itchy skin, and when it starts to fade you don't get that alligator skin look on your legs. The cool thing about being on the highest level is, you can tan at any PBT. So the salon I normally go to is in Arbutus, but let's say I'm in Annapolis. I can go to the salon and tan. I really like the new manager in Arbutus. I can't say enough good things about her. She helps you make the best decision, whether it's lotions or packages. Where is most salons push you to buy the most expensive lotion so they can make commission, this new manager and staff, do whatever they can to get you the best deal on the lotion that's right for you. I started to Plateau (which is common), the manager made great recommendations and I can already see a difference. The key to getting a darker tan is.. Change beds (do a few gold level beds to build your melanin call mom and then go back and do a few diamond beds). Also, switch your lotions up periodically, and create your own cocktail. I've been tanning for years so I always have a bunch of different lotions on hand. Do not leave your lotions in your car at any time during the summer. If they get overheated, it will ruin the ingredients that actually work to get you tan. Lotions also have expiration dates. Being summer right now, if I have a few errands to run, I will put a cold pack (A small one), inside an insulated lunchbox it's made to keep things cold, or even one of those bags from the grocery store that helps keep things cold. You don't want it to get too cold, that's why I use a very small gel ice pack. It keeps my lotions at the right temperature so the molecules and ingredients don't dissipate. When I started tanning PBT years ago, I did have a little knowledge on tanning. When I say little, I mean... I knew to change beds often. All of the knowledge I have gained since then has been from PBT's staff. I know a lot of people don't like large or larger chains, and I can't speak for all locations, but every PPT location that I've been to has always then knowledgeable. But, Arbutus is most definitely my number one choice. I Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about getting a membership with Palm Beach Tan. read more

Very clean, welcoming waiting area and lobby. Warm and friendly staff, informative, eager to help and eager to please. Beds are kept clean and well maintained. If you sign up for their specials and coupons it is definitely worth the advertisements they email you. Also be sure to follow them on Instagram as they post specials there, too! Definitely go as often as you can to make your membership worth it. Only complaints are that I've witnessed a couple of other customers complaining that a new employee told them something that turned out to be untrue and I felt the management could have provided better customer service by fulfilling their word to the customer instead of insisting that the employee had misinformed the client and the situation couldn't be remedied. read more

This location has the best high quality new beds of any salon I have ever been in. By the end of the third tanning session I was uniformly brown with no red areas whatsoever. I have had enough! Been a member at the Arbutus location for 10 years. Seems each year it gets worse. They never have enough staff anymore. Went Saturday at 10 am... waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the front. I get checked in and she said "I have to clean the bed". Before she cleaned the bed she checked in the next person who just arrived and again told him "I just have to clean the bed". While checking him in 5 more people came in and she started checking them in (having to clean a bed for each one). I have now been waiting for 15 minutes yet when I arrived there was no one in line. You know that once she finally began to clean beds, she was going to do all the beds that people were waiting on before sending people back. How long was that going to take.. I'm sure at least 15 more minutes! I finally left very upset. I can understand having limited staff certain times of the year but certainly not in April and May. This is the time the majority of people are reactivating memberships and coming in often to get their base tan. Not blaming the employee. One person can only do so much. Get it together management!! I'm going to look for a new place to spend my $. read more

Really terrible business practices and uninformed staff. I came back from my honeymoon and realized I had forgotten to cancel my membership for the month of June. I went in to cancel my membership and to see if I could be refunded or given a few vouchers for spray tans since I didn't use my membership at all. Not only was the employee unaware about how to cancel my membership in person, he gave me the wrong number when directing me to their "regional manager." When I finally found the right number for this person, she never called me back. I sent an email to headquarters, and have since found out I was charged for two months that I did not use my membership (because the front desk employee "didn't know how" to cancel me when I asked to be), and will not be refunded in any way. I asked to be cancelled then and there via email, and received an email the next day that my membership was being "frozen" for $8/month!!! Needless to say I requested AGAIN via email to have my membership cancelled, and got no personal response from anyone, just a "robo email." This particular facility is not very clean, with dirty carpets. Lines were often very long, even late at night, because it seems like only 1-2 people are working at a time which isn't enough to clean the beds properly and work the front desk. The people that work there are friendly, but seem really clueless. Half the time they didn't ask for my pin number, which I believe is for account security purposes. read more

This is my favorite location by far! They have so many tanning beds that even when they are busy, there isn't a very long wait. They have 3 sunless booths (my favorite) which is also nice- I've never had to wait long for any and there is usually at least 1 open. The staff is all super friendly and able to answer questions if you have any :) read more

Also, this is the first tanning place that has ever offered unlimited spray tanning as part of their diamond package (which is only 80ish a month-bc I joined during a promotional time period)...I love it and always look forward to my time there :) read more

It is a hit or miss with this place. Staff is always friendly whenever i am there very informative of new promotions. Jen at the desk needs a promotion she is a great worker and very kind to us members. The downfall is sometimes the beds arent full cleaned which is HIGHLY gross and unsanitary. The bed will be clean where u lay down but the part of the bed with the lamps for the top of ur body that u pull down will have hand prints on them. I get yall are busy but u wont be if u have dirty beds. Also some rooms dont have working locks on them which makes me feel insecure that someone may accidentally walk in my room. Overall an ok place to tan..prices are managable but the lotion prices are way too high for people that live in arbutus when you can get the same lotion on amazon for a 1/3 the price. read more

Excellent tanning salon! The employees are always friendly, the place doesn't get very busy, the spray tan machines are very good, and the beds are always sanitized! I would recommend this salon to everyone, especially, first time tanners because the employees explain the differences in the beds and their features and they really are trying to help find the best fit for you. Horrible! I paid 100 dol when i first went, (may) they said I'm using in advance for June. Ok i got the 60 dol. Plan what the other money was for I'm still in question. Then the guy tells me, in june only36$ will come directly or of my account. I asked why only 36 , he says I'm paying for may.... At this point I'm so confused idk what to think. It's so over priced it's insane. I went 6 mins my first time, i got nothing, no color, burn, nothing.... That's fine the next day I'll go the full 12 mins.. I go at about 2 pm (previous day i went at 5:56) they send me away telling me I'm on a 24 hr freeze and what everyone usually does is skip a day so they can go any time the day after they skip.... Notttttt all that money I'm going daily! I went back at 556. I go to the counter and tell the little girl (not a single one has a personality, very rude n snotty) i want to go my full 12 mins i been tanning for years i know i should have some type of color even after my first tan. She said sorry i can only go up 2 mins until i reach 12. I'm kinda mad now i almost said screw this I want my money back. So i kept my cool and did my 2 stupid mins. Another thing you only get a max of 12 in tbe bed ok, i got in my bed turned it on and it started at the end of a min.... Like it didn't count the first 60 seconds so you lose a min if anyone gets what I'm saying. Just real shady. I will b ending my membership and taking the money as a loss after may is up. I got a promotional spray tan package that expired after a A MONTH. Seriously? Other salons are for 3 months and many don't even expire ever! I came in 2 days after the expiration and they didn't allow me to use it. I had to buy another spray at full price. The next day I called the manager and who said she'd look into it and call me back. She never called back. I called AGAIN the next day and she said oops her computers were down yesterday evening. Doesn't matter. Just apologize because you know you forgot to call altogether. read more

I love this salon. I was new to the area and was looking around for a new tanning salon that I could go to. I walked up to the counter and told the lady that it was my first time here and she was extremely helpful! She took me on a tour and explained all of the beds and packages! This will definitely be my go to salon from now on. The only issue I have is that their packages don't make much sense, their single visits are wayy to expensive in my opinion. I wanted to get maybe a 5 visit package but they didn't offer it and it just made sense, pricing wise, to get unlimited for the month, which I didn't necessarily want but it was much cheaper. read more
