I was excited to try this place considering it had such high reviews. Upon entering the staff welcomed me I forgot to get her name and I chose the premium bed and asked for assistance on choosing a tanning lotion. While I was getting helped it got a little busy so I stepped to the side so she could check four people in for service. She thanked me for being so accommodating since she was the only one there. After my tan is when I noticed there was a coupon for a free mystic tan or a week of free standard bed uses I presented it to the cashiers and this is were the confusion set in. I was told to get the mystic tan I could only redeem it in the first day in which I just tanned. So I asked if I could just do the free week instead. I went back the first day of the free tan and no problem. The second time I was told the offer was over. I said it said seven days and that would have been the last day ? Then I was told it was no longer a offer they promoted and I was on a 4 tan trail I said great I only used one tan. The girl seem irritated like she didn't want to honor no promotions and just wanted me to pay so I just left. Guess I'll just go somewhere else. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else ? read more

I have been going to this tanning salon for years now (before it had different ownership as well) and I've always been happy with the pricing, customer service and cleanliness. Since Palm Beach Tan has taken over, the cleanliness is still at 5-star, if not better, which is the Number one thing anyone should be worried about. I have a membership here which means every month a locked amount is withdrawn from my account and I have unlimited tans in my level beds. Memberships here have there perks too. I'm always given special promos, upgrades, etc and the girls are always on top of letting me know! In fact this whole month marked my 6-months with PBT which made me eligible for FREE tanning in an upgraded bed ALL month. How cool is that? Plus they are slowly upgrading all the beds, including the spray machine which is awesome! The employees here are all very sweet, peppy and informative and always let you know of specials and suggestions. Samantha is my favorite though! So glad this is my tanning spot :) read more

Just started tanning here about a month ago and I am really happy with PBT. The salon is clean and well maintained. They have a variety of beds including the latest and greatest! They were extremely helpful when I signed up and answered all my questions with patience. It's close to my house too so that's a total plus. I have called them so many times to be sure someone is there to come in, never do they answer their phone, the website says they are open on a Sunday morning 8 AM, yet I've already called 4x and got a voice message every time, same thing one night this week in the evening. Last time I was in there they were rude and after going to the Tanning Spa on Dupont or Bare Tan on Michelson both in Irvine and seen the difference in the personalities of the employees, I'd rather drive to the other side of town, then around the corner for their lousy temperament & expensive prices! read more

Very pushy and awkward girls working here. Get a paper copy and read any package you want to sign up for first because the employees are not up front with the terms. I have been tanning for years at several different places and unfortunately this business has taken over many locations I used to actually like to tan at. The products, beds, and experience is the same you'll get anywhere else but the price is higher than anywhere and the employees aren't trained very much at all. I feel the need to write this negative review because of how poor the customer service is due to the pushy sales and uneducated employees who don't know what they should about tanning safety or even how a tan is acquired. I would like to give the team at Palm Beach Tan 5 stars because they are the friendliest group of ladies to speak with as well as completely professional. I came in last month with an issue of my account being debited incorrectly months prior and I was somewhat frustrated. The manager, Angela, was so helpful and quickly reimbursed me accordingly even though this was before she had been in her position. All the ladies there are bubbly as soon as you walk in the door and are very informative on all products and the latest specials. Whitney is the Sunless Tanning Guru, so I recommend you talking with her if you have any questions as she is the expert. Samantha and Ann (hope I spelled that right) are so welcoming and know exactly what product will make you look fabulous. The beds rock and the salon is very clean. I've never gone spray tanning before so I was a bit freaked out about the whole situation and process but the staff honestly were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Jackie and Mary made me feel very comfortable and they walked me through the whole process prior to me actually going through with it. They showed me the different beds and explained the differences, they also showed me the different levels of the spray tan and helped me choose the best one for me. They have a nice selection of tanning lotions and again Jackie sat there explaining them to me. I found out she moved to this location, which is across the street from my house, so I came back here because she's the reason I tan again. I usually tan at the Costa Mesa location, and coming to this location was the absolute worst indoor tanning experience I have ever had. Let me start by saying that upon entering the salon, there were three girls standing at the front desk talking to each other and looking at their phones. The idea of having three girls working the same shift at a small tanning salon seems ridiculous to me but what bothered me was that when I walked in, none of them greeted me, or even looked up at me. I had to initiate conversation with one of the girls. After checking in, I went back to the room, looked at the bed, and thought there must be some sort of mistake. This bed looked like it was from the 80's, and not a nice bed from the 80's, but the most basic, cheapest tanning bed available at the time. I asked one of the girls if she could please place me in a gold level bed and she scoffed at me and said, laughing, "uhhh that is the gold level bed". I tanned in the bed anyway, since I drove 15 minutes there on my lunch break, and it was such a horrible experience. The bed was so low to the ground and uncomfortable to get in and out of. The bulbs never got hot, or even warm, even towards the end of my session. The top of the bed didn't close all the way. I kept my underwear on, but saw no tan line at the end of the session, despite having bought their $150 "Black Dahlia" lotion.I don't even think I was put in there the correct amount of time, but I couldn't tell because the timer on the bed was broken. This was a horrendous experience and I will probably be canceling my membership because of it. read more

Palm beach tan is the best tanning salon in town. Bethany and Lynn have both helped me before, and I must say that their knowledge and customer service are unmatched! I would recommend this location to everyone that I know. In fact, I live a little ways away from this specific location, but I go out of my way to come here, because of how amazing they are. I like this place in terms of cleanliness and overall the staff is pretty nice. My complaints are that there is constantly a wait. I always seem to go in there when the one and only person there is signing up someone new and any of us who bought a membership know this is a 20+ minute process. I don't know why they can't excuse themselves for two minutes to check the waiting members in which takes a minute. The other day there were two girls in there. One signing up a new member the other just standing there with this annoyed look on her face. I mean I know working at a tanning salon is such hard work. The bed I am signed up for always needs to be cleaned so that's an additional wait. There is almost never a clean towel in there. The constant upsells on the pricey lotions falls almost under the harassing definition. I heard one staff member pretty much tell a new client she wouldn't let her tan without a lotion. That's fine recommend and suggest but don't lie and harass people to make a sale. Obviously people are there for a reason, but it's just bs. I signed up to get a jump start on my tan before summer but am debating if I want to cancel it. Ow and just be white or just deal with one more month. If the manager got descent staff and more staff in there then this place would be so much better. Obviously considering the bad reviews are all kind of similar it seems a tweek with the staffing would make all the difference in the world read more

My card information was stolen two weeks ago, and as such my card was canceled and I was issued a new card from my bank. When I went in to PBT to give them my new card information, they said there was a $20 rejection charge because my canceled card didn't go through. So they're punishing me because a criminal took my card information, something completely out of my control. What an absolute joke and a very shady tactic to make more money. read more
