Palm Springs Kia is horrible. I have been buying Toyotas for family for years with zero problems. I recently bought a low Mileage Toyota Rav 4 from them for a son. All looked great on the lot, gas full and ready to go. As claimed no issues with the car; 2 days later car remotes won't work. Come to find out after multiple YouTube videos the auxiliary battery was dead. I know they knew because when I got to the battery to replace it, there was a brand new Kia battery. I replaced the battery and 5 days later nothing would work. Go back on line and find there is a Technical Service Bulletin from Toyota, that says the SOS light can stay on and drain the battery(this was the issue). Additionally, CarPlay plug in didn't work, something they sold as an upgrade. Cost me an additional $300 to get both items fixed by Toyota. 38k miles mind you the 2 front doors would wildly swing open into other cars and gas station pumps. I believe due to sand wear and tear from the desert. $200 and multiple hours to fix that. Then I went to the gas station for the first time and the gas door would not pop open. Had to ask someone else to press the button, while I used a screw driver to open it. $20 part and very easy to fix, the spring went bad. They knew about the problem, they filled the car at purchase. The final straw for this epically poor review, was I tried calling the sales person and finance manger and all numbers were dead, apparently they use robot call numbers so you can't call them back. This is the second negative experience I've encountered with service advisor YVETTE ROBLES. I feel that she is either being dishonest or doesn't know how to do her job properly. I recently contacted Palm Springs Kia because I had noticed 2 screws missing from each of my clips that my visors clip into. I called and spoke to Yvette and I was pretty much told that bc I've had my car over two years that it wasn't covered under warranty and that there was nothing she could do and that I could check with the original dealership to see if they could help. Fast forward to today where I have driven 2 hours to only find out that what I'm being seen for IS covered under warranty. 5 years , 60,000 miles covered. I flat out asked my service advisor if I had been lied to and he said "yes". Now I'm fuming. I called Yvette and spoke to her again telling her that it is under warranty and that she would look into and find that if she was incorrect, she would "reeducate" herself about warranty issues. No apology, just a little attitude and defensiveness. This is NOT how you conduct customer service.. If Yvette doesn't know her job by now, having been there at least 2 years, then maybe she shouldn't be working there. Now, I will purposely go out of my way to never visit that dealership again AND I will be spreading the word that Yvette is dishonest and not truthful. On a positive note, I also spoke to Jesse, the service manager and he was more than helpful and told me to bring my car in so they can fill my tank with gas since I have driven almost 2 hours out of my way for something that could and should have been handled at my local KIA dealership. Unfortunately, bc this is the second time I've had a run in with Yvette, I'll also be posting this review on other social media platforms and will be getting in touch with corporate. If there is one thing I don't appreciate or tolerate, it's being lied to or being made out for me to look like an uneducated customer. Three years ago, I have least IKEA from the dealership constantly six month left into the lease. I keep getting emails from this company to bring your car and bring your car and bring your car in earlier. Will take care of everything and let's make another deal and I took the car in in July when in August the lease will be over. They played a game. They have no integrity. They lied to our face they made us buy a new car while they told us that no problem we take your lease back and you don't have to worry about that at all and now I'm finding out that I have to pay the payments of the old lease on top of the payment of the new car. This is about corporate KIA and not an individual dealership. My 1.5 year old KIA EV 6 broke down in a parking garage in Loma Linda, CA (61 miles from home). I called KIA roadside service but was left stranded in the garage for over 6 hours. I had to call an Uber to get home. Then I had to rent a car for a week. To top it off, it took KIA FOUR months to reimburse me under the warranty. I will never buy or lease a KIA or Hyundai vehicle!!! read more

This rating is going to be bipolar. We LOVE the sales department. We bought a brand new K5, and a few months later a guy ran a red light and totaled out our car. So, we bought a second one. Both times we had great experiences. Freddy and the whole sales team treated us super well. Five stars all the way. They made buying our cars, fast, and easy. Conversely, the service department has been a horrible experience. When we were purchasing the car, obviously, their 100,000 mile warranty is something they feature. But the minute you going to the repair shop, you bring it in, and they start marking everything as customer pay, and explaining to you that if for some reason, a rat chew on a cord or something or something else has happened that you are responsible for paying blah blah blah. So, as much as sales is keen on telling you about this great warranty policy, the repair shop over and over wants to prep you for what's going to happen if warranty doesn't cover this... Even if your car is only three months old with 4000 miles on it. My car is having problems with air conditioning and they are having problems with replicating the issue in the shop. It intermittently works. They are unwilling to do anything, not even an HVAC reset as suggested by everybody who was having this experience on Reddit that Kia will not pay to randomly check stuff. So, it is up to me to somehow get my car in there when the problem is happening. They don't wanna pay, so I have to keep coming in again and again and again. And honestly, nobody in that repair shop cares that they cannot find the problem or that we have a brand new car that does not have appropriately functioning air condition and 110° weather. They've made it very clear that that is our problem. I spoke with Kia customer service and they recommended taking it to a different dealership. I guess we'll try that on our path to turning this car back in under the Lemon Law. To be honest, I'm mildly annoyed that they can't find the problem. What completely pisses me off is the way the people in the service department behave. Fernando tries to be helpful, Yvette is just rude. But in the end, Kia, their policies, have made it really clear that their defect is our problem to manage, not theirs. As much as we love our K5, it's super unlikely that we will ever purchase another Kia because of things are not smooth sailing neither of the companies policies, nor this service department have your back. read more

I asked the rep if they would honor the price and they promised if the car was in the excellent condition I gave, they would honor the price "or pay higher". I bought a brand new car and was convinced to leave a bigger payment down than I wanted because I wouldn't have to make a payment for 3 months. Imagine my surprise when I got a past due notice on my 1st car payment. I called the finance company and that was not written in my contract. The sales manager goes over it so quick and I'm sure it's on purpose. Take your time and read the contract before you sign because this is a big purchase for most of us. Disgusting. VETERANS BEWARE!! I am a 75 year old disabled veteran and was treated like crap at Palm Spring's KIA We've all heard the phrase, "It's like the inmates running the asylum". Well that's how I have felt the last 2 1/2 months dealing with Palm Spring's KIA. I purchased a new 2026 KIA Sportage Hybrid costing over $46,000. I purchased this vehicle on 26 September 2025, I waited 30 days and started calling about my new plates and registration. I first called DMV to see what the hold up was, they told me they had to send the paperwork back to Palm Spring's KIA on 14 Oct because the paperwork was messed up; DMV needed signatures and fees. So, I called Palm Spring's KIA to ask what was going on. Of course I couldn't leave a message because the DMV person's mailbox was full. I tried the next day, same thing; full mailbox. I finally got a hold of some one and they told me they would check it out and call me back before the day was over. Imagine this, no one called me back. I waited a day and called back and was told the paperwork had been corrected and sent back to DMV. I felt a little relief, so I waited a while before calling DMV. It's now December and I called DMV, no paperwork had been submitted from Palm Spring's KIA. I called and spoke to the DMV person and of course they blamed it on the holidays. I spoke to the GM and was told he would check on it. My temporary license plate that was put on the car at purchase is now about to expire. I spoke to the GM on at least 3 occasions, useless attempt to get anything accomplished. I called DMV and they said, nothing was submitted yet. My temporary license plate is now expired; it expired on Christmas day. I again called Palm Spring's KIA and did actually get a hold of the DMV person, she now blamed the delay on their 3d party office who takes care of their DMV stuff. First it's the holidays, but now it's the 3d party office. Frustrated as hell I call DMV again and low and behold a new disabled veteran license plate and registration had been issued on 8 Jan. 2026. Two weeks after my temporary plate expired! I said, new disabled veteran license plate. All I asked at purchase was to transfer my DV plate to my new vehicle. Nope, they couldn't get that right either, unbelievable! I had to make a trip to the DMV when I was running out of legal driving time and now I have to go back again to turn in my old plate. This place is insane. No one returns calls. Mail boxes are always full. Once the purchase is made, you are on your own! Of course, this is only my opinion and as I began this review, BEWARE!!! read more

Last week my mother went to the KIA dealership in Palm Springs and the two girls at the desk were rude they tried to upsell a compression which was checked out at another shop after she did not need a compressor. They tried to upsell a bunch of items and she didn't want it they said they called her they never called. They are so dishonest and treat you like it is an imposition you are there... that is totally the opposite at PS Kia. The folks in the service department are definitely nice. Honest? I would have preferred a bit more of that. My airbag light went on so I brought the car in. Instead of anything complicated, it was the usual plaint of desert dwellers: a packrat ate a wire. They wanted to charge $5000 (I'm not kidding) to replace the entire wiring harness. $2k for parts, $3k for labor. It's a liability thing, the guy explained, as well as "safety." But, hey, your insurance will cover it. I insisted on talking to the mechanic who had worked on the car. "Can someone just replace the wire? And that will work?" Answer: yes. The service guy - I won't use his name because he was certainly "nice" gave a very different impression. Done with these guys unless it's a warranty issue. Oh, and dealing with the scam attempt cost me $160 - that's what it costs to have them look at the car. They did give me a "complimentary" car wash. O joy. Local mechanics rule! read more

The reps here act like they have no competition and you are lucky to be working with them. On top of that manager Hany Badir adds absolutely no value... NONE. Worst customer service - would NEVER recommend. Second interaction with dealership, had a flat tire, towed to this location. Said because there was a small chip in rim, it would have to be replace. Cost would be $1k+ in total. Towed the car to a tire shop who was appalled when we told them what Kia dealership stated. It was literally a flat tire. The manager has a PhD in Dickology. Didn't GAF that some options were NOT included in base - even though in 1/ case claimed to be and 2/ deceptive marketing - and couldn't care that a buyer of their newest flagship EV/SUV is left feeling cheated (had I known that the options I expected were NOT included, I would have adjusted my offer to accommodate that) Love the car. Loved the salesman. Hate the manager. Pay attention to other Yelp reviews. Wish I had. read more

My Daughter experienced an issue with her Optima and I stated to have it towed to Palm Springs Kia to have it looked at. Terri La Rocca, our service person was oblivious to what she was recommending to us. She stated that we needed some fluids changed out and we needed air filters and such for over $1,000 worth of work. The irony in this is 1,700 miles ago we just had a major service from our local Kia Dealership here in AZ, and had 85% of what she recommended done. Terri was asked about the check engine light being on and she literally stated "I don't expect you to understand, but when a vehicle needs an update it can do odd things". WHAT! Was going out to the outlets with my mom after Christmas and had been looking to trade in my lease since it had good value on it so figured I'd see if they had what I wanted and they did! Did an internet query (I live in SD) and Juan reached out via text (preferred method which I so appreciate). Told him what I was willing to pay (did a ton of research about what a fair price would be) and to my surprise they agreed to it immediately. Drove out that day and they didn't screw us around or try to upsell us to something we didn't want. Juan was so polite, soft spoken, and helpful - highly recommend working with him! Also I was ready to take whatever they'd give me for the trade in bc otherwise I'd just have to turn it back in at Hyundai and would likely owe them for some scratches and such (the sales manager knew this so he low balled me, which given the lack of frustration about the new lease price I wasn't going to throw a fit about)... but then the general manager came out said he appreciated us coming all the way out and didn't want to be unfair about it so he knocked $20 of the monthly!!
