Thai combination fried rice with Thai iced tea
    Sofia P.

I love this Thai place! My absolute favorite in Chula Vista! Whether I dine in or order to go it always tastes good. I usually order combination fried rice and Thai tea. I've had other dishes too and they were delicious. Definitely a must try! The service is descent, the ambiance is like a small mom n pop shop. Walk in, no reservations. You order first, then they'll bring your food to your table.

The last time I will ever eat here again, this is the most disgusting experience. I was at the end of my bowl and saw this.

It would be nice to be able to enjoy a meal without finding flies in my food. How does a giant fly even end up in someone's curry? Either you killed it and landed in my curry, or the kitchen simply doesn't care about flies being around while they're cooking. Either way, this is completely unacceptable and extremely concerning from a hygiene standpoint.

I ordered takeout from Palm Thai and found the food to be just okay -- not bad, but not especially memorable either. We ordered a variety of items to sample the menu, including the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles, Crispy Rolls, Chicken Wings, Cheesy Crab, and Potstickers. The fried rice, noodles and wings were decent, though could have used a bit more flavor. The highlights for us were the potstickers, which we enjoyed. Unfortunately, the crispy rolls and cheesy crab were a disappointment and not something we would order again. Overall, if I were to order again, I'd stick with the noodles or fried rice. It wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't really stand out.

    Pad Thai with tofu
    Michelle R.

FOOD Pad Thai with tofu (rating 5/5)- it's a classic dish and they hit it exactly. The vegetables were fresh and the tofu was great. I had it at a spice level 1 and it was perfect! *not shown* Thai Tea. 5/5. I love it! I just wish there was a recipe without Red dye 40 but overall, I could drink this tea daily. PARKING 5/5- can always find parking since it's a shared lot. CLEANLINESS 5/5 - it's always really clean there. Tables are bussed and trash isn't on the ground. AMBIANCE welcoming vibes with the flowers - makes me miss Thailand. They have tables for couples, 4 seats and larger groups. SERVICE 5/5- whether I get me food to-go or eat it there, they are pretty fast and the food servings are large.

I have been coming for two years now. In addition to the chicken wings and curries I love the cucumber salad! Food and service are consistently great.

A nice place in an average strip mall. The food is stellar and my boyfriend said his drunken noodles was amazing. My curry was so yummy other than the potatoes were near raw and inedible. Give it a try the food and people are great.

First timer and liked it so much came back two days later! Loved my Thai tea with coconut milk, very large cup. I loved my tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce. Drunk noodles were okay , tried with combo and another time with just shrimp. I loved the yellow curry with mock duck, as my favorite. We also tried the cashew nut stir fry combo and that was very good. I would definitely come back. Service was friendly. Place is great to come and eat with family or order to go.

Today I went in to this spot because growing up it used to be a TapEx. I was excited to learn that they offer boba, so I wanted one. Upon looking at the menu, I asked the cashier girl, "What is the fan favorite?" And she promptly responded, "I don't drink them." I diverted the conversation by asking what the photo of the green drink was and I said, "Is that a matcha latte?" She informed me that I was incorrect, it was actually a "green tea drink" with "poured in half and half." A green tea latte IS a matcha latte, so I did not know why I was being corrected... I said I would go ahead and order a "Green Tea Latte," to which she responded, "This isn't a latte." At this point she seemed fed up, so I asked her, "Isn't there milk in it though?" and she responded, "Yes." Soooo..... it IS a latte. I remained calm in the moment, but I don't know why she was being combative or highly corrective of everything I was saying. After the interaction, I opted to order a totally different drink off the menu instead. However, even after the interaction I was still kind of gaslighting myself and I couldn't help but wonder if I was the one who was in fact wrong about green tea lattes and matcha lattes not being the same drink. A quick google search DID in fact verify that a matcha latte is in fact a specific type of green tea latte, which can be used interchangeably. It is the same thing. I perhaps implore the barista to be more open minded and less combative about drinks that she admittedly doesn't consume at her place of employment. Furthermore, in Canada they call it a Green Tea Latte, and here in the US we call it a, "Matcha latte." So you would still get the same drink, regardless of how you order it. In the end, the boba was good and for that fact I would still return.

Tom Kha soup, Curry puff pastry and Thai tea (no boba).

My favorite place for Thai food here in South San Diego (Palm Ave/805) near Teresita Fruiteria. Come and check them out. Today ordered Tom Kha soup with shrimp, spice level 2; Curry puff pastry is like a Thai empanada with cucumber/vinegar dipping sauce, and Thai iced tea (no boba). Other items ordered before... crab fried rice (real crab meat), panang curry, pad thai. Have more menu items to try.. We usually see Tanny.. very friendly and courteous staff, great customer service. She shared what aree her favorite dishes here. Nice ambiance (clean & neat), spacious, not too crowded, decent parking. Worth trying

Hat Yai Chicken - I don't know how such a crispy texture could feel this airy and light at the same time, but they nailed it with the both the batter and the chicken meat itself. It takes someone truly special who knows what they're doing to produce delicious and juicy chicken breast. This chicken itself was extremely flavorful and the sauce it came with took it to the next level. Crispy Crabs - I could snack on this every single day and not be tired. These things are so tasty! The texture makes it super fun to eat and the marinade and seasoning is absolutely addicting. Pomelo Salad - Completely blew my mind at first bite. This is a dish I've seen before and tried to replicate at home without ever knowing what it was supposed to taste like. I thought my creation was decent until I tried Sovereign's version. So this is how it's really done. This dish put mine to shame (and I'm a pretty decent cook if I do say so myself). I don't think I have the audacity to make it at home again after tasting theirs. It is SO good!!! Bangkok Street Noodles - This is a brand new dish for me and the very first time I've ever had it anywhere. With that said, my point of reference isn't the best when trying to compare it. But I will say that the broth is extremely unique and tasty. Loved all the protein that came with the dish although I don't care for the basic boiled egg. I also wish it came with a lot more broth because I prefer a soupy noodle dish. I absolutely loved everything we tried here and was raving about each dish. It's the type of food that was so good, I was making very indecent noises at the table the entire duration of our meal.

I got us a beautiful Airbnb right next to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Girls School (mind out of the gutter, please). It's gorgeous, but we didn't know where to eat. I did a quick Yelp Search; thank you, Yelpers! I found this place. It was only a stone's throw from where we are staying, which is a beautiful little neighborhood! I was very hungry for some reason, probably from all the moving and lifting of boxes, but we came here. I had the Garlic Pepper w/tofu stir fry, and my husband had the lo mein with mock duck. For an appetizer, we had the tofu spring rolls! DELISH. Becky, our gracious server, was wonderful and was kind enough to break out our bill. I had two Chardonnay nays (Martin reference), which were only $ 10.00 each- good wine and cheaper than that current white wine at the Whistle Stop. My dish was very good. I love the crispy broccoli, and they put some type of cabbage slaw mixed with the sauce in it, which was incredible. My husband loved his lo mein. I am not a fan of lo mein, but whatever, it smokes his shorts. We are moving out of San Diego, so over the next three to four months we will be going to new places in other neighborhoods to try them out before we leave. Beautiful ambiance too; I love the way it's decorated. They are the same group that owns my other favorite Thai place, Plumeria. One last note: some genius wrote that this isn't a good place for vegetarians; I giggled when I saw it on Yelp. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices right on their menu.

Our waiter kept our waters refilled, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The portions were a decent size and definitely enough to fill you up for lunch. The inside is cute and has a nice atmosphere. There was also plenty of street parking, which is always a plus.
