We were looking for a place to eat and decided to stop by Palma Italian Kitchen because it was close to our hotel. The restaurant is absolutely adorable inside, with a fun mix of flamingos and palm trees. A special shoutout to our server, Callie, who was incredibly helpful and made our visit even better. I asked for plain fettuccine Alfredo, and they were more than happy to customize it for me and even added broccoli upon my request. The rest of our group enjoyed the Bolognese, lasagna, and spaghetti with meatballs. We also ordered the focaccia tower, which comes with a side of homemade alfredo sauce. The house salad was very good and the balsamic dressing was tasty! The best part was the fresh shaved Parmesan on top. Also, all of their sauces are made in-house, and it's locally owned. We were excited to try the menu and started with the filet Gorgonzola flatbread, which was absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of our meal. I was headed to Olive Garden and saw this place in a strip mall so I changed plans. I was seated right away and given a menu. I was brought water right away, but no bread. In fact I never got bread. I have never been to an Italian place that did that. I ordered the chicken parm. They serve this with fettuccine serve. Marinara on the chicken but Alfredo on the pasta, thought that was strange. The salad was an abundance of spring mix, some other veggies and a really bad vinaigrette dressing. They were good enough to swap the fettuccine Alfredo on the chicken parm with spaghetti. The sauce on both was very sparse, and was more like crushed tomatoes than sauce. The chicken was over cooked and the breading was very coarse. It was smothered in what I think was arugala. I could not remove it without removing the parmesean cheese, it was not a good addition. The server did not check on me very often, so I wasn't impressed with the service either. Seldom do I like a chain over a locally owned place but I wish I had gone to Olive garden. THis place was really bad! read more

We had a very medium experience here. I think I need to give them a second chance, maybe, but im not rushing to do so. We made a reservation, and when we arrived we were told it would be another 10 minutes while a large party finished up. After 15 minutes we realized the large party was just having dessert deliver so we opted to sit at the bar for our meal. The large party left the restaurants just 10 minutes before us, so the reservation did us no good. At the bar we were giving a happy hour menu, which included "select domestic draft beers" for $4. "Select calls" for $6. And "house cocktails" for $8. Based on this verbiage I think it would be safe to assume that some beer, some calls, and all house cocktails are on happy hour. I ordered a house cocktail from the house cocktail list and was told when I got the check that the one cocktails I chose (a pistachio drink that appears to no longer be on the menu online) was the only cocktail not included. How convenient. We ordered the pistachio drink and an espresso martini, both were not well balanced. I wouldn't order either again. I think beer and wine are the move here, since the bartender didn't seem to be experienced and had to look up the recipes for each drink. We ordered the appetizer meatballs, which very flavorful, but had an odd, grainy texture. We also got the whipped ricotta app, no complaints. For mains we got the chicken parmesan. This had to be sent back and removed from the bill due to an off putting texture of the chicken. I've had this happen at other restaurants, and it's not their fault but the manager did say "it's been happening a lot lately" so maybe find a new chicken provider? Or warn people? Or test it first? To replace the chicken, we ordered a prosciutto and Arugula pizza. As with most things here, the flavor was great and there was fresh mozzarella, but the consistency was off. The dough was very chewy, and hard to eat. Finally, we ordered the short rib risotto. This is the item that's making me think the restaurant deserves another chance. If they can perfect short ribs and risotto, someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. The restaurant is pretty, and the bar seats are pretty comfortable, but it would have been nice to be at a table with our reservation. The staff seemed overwhelmed and under prepared. We stayed almost until closing time and got a little family history of the owner, how his grandma's last bottle of red wine is featured as a centerpiece at the bar, her photos frame the kitchen, and all the paintings were done my staff and family. The food at Palma is amazing! we wanted to try some of the new items so we started with the Godfather nachos and they were absolutely delicious. never had anything like it. Then we had the burrata with bruschetta and it was so fresh and I literally could eat it everyday. For dinner we had the hot honey pizza which was incredible, then we had the italian sausage with the fresh ricotta pasta 10/10 so good. We also tried the cacio de pepe with the steak and it was phenomenal. I found this restaurant on Facebook with a BOGO pasta offer. It's Italian. It's local. And they are offering a BOGO and even have a rewards club. How wrong can you possibly go with with that combination? WE ABSOf***ingLUTELY LOVED IT! We got salads, house and Caesar salad. We got truffle steak frites with au poivre and shaved Parmesan. I would never normally end up in this area because there's absolutely nothing that interests me here, but ended up in a rental nearby after evacuating for Milton. This little restaurant was the highlight of almost a week in Champions Gate with my entire immediate family, my cat, and their dog. First off, my family is ridiculous. My dad was hellbent on Italian on night 1. The place he used to go to a million years ago doesn't exist anymore. Or if it does he can't remember the name. I basically found 3 options, one wasn't open, the other was mostly just pizza, and then Palma. Old man tried calling a defunct number for where he thought he went before. Old man turned his nose up because Palma's menu "didn't look good." Old man forfeited because it was this or pizza only. Yeah the inside of this place has instagram vibes and isn't super attractive to boomers visiting for nearby golf (aka my dad). Bethany waited on us all night. I wanted to apologize in advance because I knew he might be a bit difficult (he's trapped in basic, old school 90s Italian with the tuft of curly parsley and isn't always open-minded to new takes) but goddamn this chick was hilarious, on top of things, and gave us the best service our entire evac-ation. She was cool as a cucumber when my mom managed to fling her glass of wine all over the table, when my dad wanted to custom make his entree, and gave us a good rundown on their hurricane schedule so we knew if they would operate earlier in the day before it hit. I ordered the lasagna as per her recommendation. It came with a boat of cheese sauce. Another server gave it a comedic table-side side pour and left us to our own devices. Verdict - solid. The pasta was super thin, the sauce was exceptional, and the inside wasn't cheese-loaded so the boat wasn't overkill. I shared with the table but there was zero left. Comments were made about no one ever finishing the brick of carby meaty goodness. My mom got the carpaccio, which I tried, and about 2/3 through made one of her ridiculous comments about how she wishes it had the balsamic glaze "the other place" has (spoiler: she compares every version of this dish to Brio, her gold standard). I flagged Bethany down so we could get some and she brought the bottle and gave an exceptional table-side performance, my mom was left with nothing to nitpick about, and all was good. My dad initially complained about the pasta he added onto his steak dish but all that nonsense dried up. Probably the wine at play at that point. The following day we got a to go order during lunch hour for a couple pizzas and some meatballs. It was supposed to be dinner since everything would be closing (rightfully) for the storm blowing through late that evening. The arugula and prosciutto with balsamic glaze was fantastic, even cold. Meatballs were great too. After that my dad vetoed any more Italian on the trip and ended up hellbent on going to chilis for cold beer and sports on big tvs (complaining it was loud and his burger sucked), and millers where he was convinced he could get them to assemble a surf and turf (I can't even with this man). Do yourself a favor and just go to Palma if you're here. The bbq spot next to them is okay too but Palma really knocked it out of the park. read more

If you want authentic Italian food do not come here, we order sort ribs entree and the ribs were bland it look like it was just boiled in water, no seasoning, my fiancé order the chicken parmigiana and the red sauce was bland too and the chicken was dry, overcooked. I replaced my sort ribs entree with a margarita pizza and the crust was raw in the middle, our server was terrible, she was answering the phone, serving drinks at the bar and never paying attention to us. The only great experience was the other server Jessica she took care of us when we had the issue with the food while our actual server was busy doing other things. Attended the soft opening. They had an array of dishes to sample from their menu. I tried nearly everything and was not disappointed. Pasta, sandwiches and appetizers were all fresh and delicious. I believe this restaurant will do very well. Because of the sampling dishes there was no service, however the staff came by to see how you were doing and get you refills on your drinks. Palma Italian Kitchen A brand new "Florida meets Italian" restaurant has graced the Champions Gate area in Osceola County called "Palma" which is Italian for Palm Tree! Owners Keith and Jessica did a gorgeous restyle of the old Osteria restaurant. It's a beautiful remodel with bright colors, modern decor, full wall bar, and inside and outside dining with their wood burning pizza oven! The restaurant is in honor of Jessica's grandmother who had her own winery and her last made bottle of wine is displayed proudly at the bar and her portrait hung up as well. I love that this menu is a limited menu of all the Italian favorites, from pizzas to appetizers to pastas and main courses, with an upscale eclectic drink menu. Of course I had to try the "Smoke in the Valley" smoking signature old fashion with " Buffalo Trace" bourbon, brown sugar simple and bitters that not only came with a under glass smoking presentation but was made superbly! A full bar of cocktails, wine, beer and specialty coffees are available. We ordered a "Margherita" pizza to start which came with fresh basil and tomatoes and cheese on a synged crust. I want to try the "Hot Honey" pizza next time with mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni, prosciutto, red onion, and a house made hot honey drizzle! Before I get into the entrees I need to tell you about Neil our server. I predict he will be the head server of Palma, thanks to his vast knowledge of the menu, history of the restaurant and his professional yet entertaining personality! But it doesn't end there, he's also an author of "Drink the Pacific Northwest" which is a well researched and written ultimate guide to the Pacific Northwest brewery and wineries, with stunning photos throughout! ( at the end I received an autographed copy) Back to eating, my "Catch of the Day" was the broiled "Salmon" with an awesome delicious tomato pesto risotto and broccoli. Of course Johnny had his "Chicken Parm" with a side of spaghetti which got a very high rating from him, an 8 1/2 on the parm scale! Both entrees were plated beautifully and came quickly. Dessert was three mini fresh filled cannolis with drizzled syrup and berries! I also had my millionaires coffee which was no problem for our super server. If I weren't so full I would have ordered "Limoncello" cake which was screaming my name! Next time I'm starting with dessert first! The owner Keith, was hands on the whole time from welcoming customers to making sure everyone was happy to supervising the kitchen and bar. They will be having their grand opening week starting tomorrow with free food and drink and live music with each day something special!
