The place comes with a roof, which serves as a gigantic awning.

I go here to buy lottery tickets, but as soon as I see the dazzling selection of onions at $0.69/lb, I realize that I've already won the lottery! In fact, all of us Glendaliens have. Just the thought, and action, of cutting these onions, has brought me several tears of enjoyment. This store is situated right on the corpus callosum of Adams Trapezoid, which connects its left and right halves, allowing them to communicate. The monarchy in the middle features a bilingual lady who can fit in between the aisles, keeping them well-stocked with five varieties of eggplant caviar, one type of mustard, and a can of sardines. The best part is, although there is a $10 minimum, you can pay $0.50 to use your credit card. Assuming you are walking on your hands and able to pay off your bills, you will be building arm strength and credit score simultaneously!

Well matched to its…read moreupscale shops and the Italian restaurant next door, Delucas offers pricey, tasty sandwiches and paninis in a relaxed atmosphere. I came on a sunny Saturday afternoon; the interior is upscale, open, with products in the shelf and a menu written on the wall. I made my way to the front to placed my order, with the staff friendly, but not effusive, who made a couple suggestions at my request. I ended up getting the Fig and Pig Panini ($16), which was absolutely excellent, featuring slow-roasted pork, white cheddar cheese, and sweet pieces of fig and fig jam on thin, perfectly crispy piece of thin, toasted ciabatta bread. A perfect combination of sweet and savory, this was as good as previous Yelp reviews suggest, but was tragically quite small (see attached photo). With it I ordered an iced cappuccino ($5.25), which was good, especially with a cinnamon sprinkle on top, but quite small for the price. Unfortunately, over half of it was foam--more than expected even for a cappuccino-style drink. The interior was clean but quite busy. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my food, and the restaurant appeared somewhat understaffed, with many tables needing to be bussed and cleaned. Although I was warned of the wait and the tables were cleaned about 10 minutes in, for an upscale establishment like this, I would hope for more consistent upkeep and slightly more staff. Prices, above, are a bit elevated and somewhat disproportionate to the quantity of food provided. However, given the ritzy, popular setting, they are not entirely unreasonable. If you're looking an upscale, delicious Italian sandwich in the heart of the Glendale Galleria, you'd be hard-pressed to do better than Deluca's. For the discerning customer willing to pay a few extra dollars, you'll be very pleased with your experience here. Delizioso! Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5

Was not expecting her to go above and beyond in providing customer service, but a smile would go a long way. For drinks, I ordered Affogato as you can see in the picture. It looks like anything but the drink I ordered. It was a Luke warm regular coffee with maybe 2% or fat free milk. Cappuccino and iced latte were good no complaints about them. For ambiance, this location is located in Americana with a nice indoor and outdoor sitting area. There is plenty of seating inside. Since it was hot, I preferred to sit outside. I am not sure maybe the day I visited this location's staff was having a bad day or something. Since everything went wrong. lol I will give them another try and will update my review . For parking, Americana parking is an option and the other option is Glendale Galleria which is a short walk.

We ordered the Philly and Pastrami to split and share. We dined in which was among a few small tables situated between the shelves of well-lit and visually clean bottles of liquor. Service was friendly but nothing memorable. After about 10 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. They were hot and came on toasted rolls. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so. The Mexican Coke and small bottle of lemonade were each $6. $20 for a sandwich isn't cheap, but it price didn't make me gag--but I almost physically gagged when i saw soda prices ring up. Next time, we'll get our sandwiches to go and get drinks elsewhere.

First of all, the restaurant is located inside a poke shop, so you can easily miss it. I know I did for about 15 minutes, walking here and there and going up to the second floor since I couldn't find it. They have a logo in the window, but all the signage is for the poke shop, which shares the small place with the sandwich shop. One guy mans each restaurant from behind a counter, like a Subway sandwich shop. Well I got two sandwiches - the Americano and the Va Bene with spicy salami. Both came with a large mess of fresh mozzarella, which I know plenty of people probably love. First time I've had a huge half ball of moz on a sandwich, and I did not like it at all. It actually ruined both sandwiches as far as flavor. The better of the two was the Va Bene, though even this sandwich left little impression. It's just salami and mozzarella on a small unimpressive tiny section of bread. The size of both sandwiches is actually disappointingly small. The lesser sandwich was the Americano. It wanted to be a standard Italian deli meat grinder, but the sandwich was too small, the meats were nothing special, and the moz once again ruined everything. They offer a cheap, basic cold cut sandwich for $5.95, and if you must try this place I suggest trying this before you spend more money. Bottom line is this was a total disappointment, I didn't like my sandwiches at all, and I will not be back. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this place. The food is just sad.

The service is quick and amicable as well. Not too expensive either. I really enjoy their salads especially! I ordered the Julia's Tuna salad, which was super tasty. I recommend ordering the dressing on the side, since the tuna is already pretty salty. The eggs are jammy and the greens are the perfect pairing. Their tomatoes are also especially sweet. I have also tried the Lorri sandwich, which uses an eggplant cutlet to imitate meat. The balsamic flavor is pretty heavy on that one, since the tomatoes really soak up the sweetness. Definitely tasty! Pretty messy sandwich to eat though, especially with the broccolini. Overall, highly recommend trying Ggiata's out. Casual sit down place, perfect for date night or a casual catch up. I saw that the fried arancini is pretty popular, as well as their fried eggplant so maybe I'll try that next time. It was getting late, so while I waited for the kid in the car at their activity, I went on The Heights website found an order form and placed an order for some sammies all in 5 minutes. I didn't even ask the hubs or the vegetarian kid what they wanted. I went with what I thought they'd like. 15-minutes later, I was picking the sandwiches up at the walk-in only shop. There was no line and better yet, they were wrapped up and ready to go when I walked in. The smiling lady asked if I wanted napkins or utensils. They have case after case of cold drinks so we picked out a couple of drinks, paid for those and left. It was easy and fast. Enjoyed the yumminess at home. I normally would save a half for another meal but my "Pasadena" hit the spot that I finished it up all at once. Quality bread, meats, cheese, fillings aka all the ingredients...to boot! PS the kid loved theirs and so did the hub. Thanks for making dinner: easy and delicious! There are no pictures because it was too delicious to take the time out and take any. Just order.
