The food is definitely a step up from a low-end greasy spoon diner, but not enough to justify the prices. Two of us paid over $30 for two large breakfasts and coffee, and the coffee was not very good. There was plenty of tasty food, but the quality of ingredients, presentation, and ambience is far below that of, e.g., Sparrow Bakery (where our smaller but more delicious breakfast cost about $10 less!). I did take home a box with some leftovers, which is unusual for me, so if you have a very large appetite this might be your place. read more

Start your morning right! Was in Bend for 1 night and went to Palmer's for breakfast based on other Yelp reviews. Not disappointed! i ordered the breakfast quesadilla (my favorite food group) and could not have been happier. My friends ordered pancakes and a breakfast burrito and the entire table was quiet because we were too busy eating. Not to mention, my friend and I are coffee addicts and our cup never went below the halfway line. Lovely and sweet staff -- would definitely come again if I'm ever back in Bend. read more

WOW! A must eat when in Bend, OR. Small cafe attached to Palmer's Motel. Heated waiting area outside with coffee if too crowed. Very friendly service, incredible food, large portions, and homemade salsa. Great breakfast/brunch spot...open 'til 2pm. We were headed to a different spot but ended up at Palmer's by accident. But what a surprise! There is drip coffee for you as you wait (though it will be charged to you later once seated). Portions here are large and in charge! The breakfast burrito was twice the size of the usual. I had the country scramble which was really just biscuits and gravy with some eggs and bacon. There hardly were any eggs since it was buried beneath the biscuits and gravy. Loved the homemade biscuit though, it was just the right consistency and still moist even without the gravy! We went here after reading all of the incredible Yelp reviews. Neither of us can figure out why or how this place gets such fantastic accolades. The best part of our experience was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly, and the water/coffee refills were timely. However, aside from that, this would be a two star review. I ordered the kitchen sink with a scrambled egg on top. The potatoes and veggies were oily and not very flavorful. My BF had the Mediterranean scramble which he said was very average, and actually said his cinnamon toast with jelly was the highlight of the meal. He ordered fresh fruit as his side, which looked like canned fruit with one blueberry and one strawberry chunk added for "freshness". The coffee was also very sub-par, especially with so many good coffee options in Bend. Maybe it was just an off day for the cook or something, but we were not impressed. read more

A cozy eatery tucked in the back of the tiny Palmer Motel. This place is always packed on the weekends, and the staff has a tough time with the pace. The food is plentiful and tasty. But I found the bottom of my coffee cup a couple times during the course of one meal - which is never a good thing while enjoying my breakfast! read more

A hidden breakfast gem!! This place is hidden in an old motel and it took me so long to find it, but I am glad I did! The omelets are so good and there are so many to choose from that I'll never be able to experience them all. The service is friendly and attentive. Your coffee and water will be full the entire meal and even if you stay to chat after you're finished they keep filling your cup; that is VERY rare at restaurants believe it or not. read more

Appearances can be deceiving. Palmers looks like a shady place, especially being next to a motel but it is anything but. The staff are incredibly friendly and sweet. Once you are inside, it feels like you're eating in your grandma's kitchen. The food is delicious and the portions are enormous. We had the breakfast burrito and the eggs benedict. A friend picked this spot for us. Ended up with a 5 man band, myself and my wife. Between all of us we've seen the U.S. many times over with tons of breakfast diners. This place is at least on my top 5 both for food as well as service (while waiting for tables to be combined we say on the deck with heaters keeping us warm and free fresh coffee). Every person got something different and every one of us remarked at how good it was, with plates being passed around towards the end for us to try the others. No empty bellies left the place and everyone had a smile with hugs from the hostess on the way out. I rarely write a review this gushing. The atmosphere is just a typical country diner with nothing fancy. But it doesn't need to be fancy to be damned good. read more

Good old down home country breakfast with incredibly friendly people. Sometimes open at 6:30 am - perfect for early birds.

The place was amazing. Way better than I expected in every way. The food was excellent! Traditional yet original. The biscuits and gravy 5 star! Pancakes were awesome as well. You'd never expect it to be so good in its out of the way little location. The service was as good as the food! It's priced a little higher than average but the large portions make up for it. We found this great little cafe tucked away next to a motel in Bend, Oregon. The corned beef hash is great, and so are the pancakes. Coffee was always bumped up, and we received 10% off our bill for being first-timers. The seating arrangement is cozy, like real pubs where you often find yourself sitting in close proximity to strangers, so if you're introverted, you may want to choose wisely regarding seating. Still, we loved it, the food was great, and so was the service. Our host and server were more than willing to share information with us about the town, along with ideas as far as what to do during our visit. We really hope to go to Palmer's again at least one more time before we leave. Great place! read more

What a pleasure hidden surprise! We found this on yelp. Had a moment of apprehension when it was connected to a motel, but were pleasantly surprised by the portions and the quality of the food. Our waitress, Gretchen, though, is the reason why I am writing this! She was fabulous! Not only extremely friendly, our coffee cups were never empty, our children (8 and 6) were well taken care of (she gave an insane amount of whipped crème in our sons hot chocolate...then brought a small plate of some for our daughter when she was admiring his drink. She also had a complete "to go" pack for us with utensils/napkins, etc! My son said that this was the BEST restaurant ever! I must agree, it was quite a find! Oh, and when she asked how we found the place and we said "yelp", we got 10% off our meal! read more

If you had to pick the best hole in the wall restaurant in bend ans i say that with all the love in the world it would be Palmer's. I hate to even write this review to some of us locals we would like to keep the best kept secrets well.........secret but the cats outta the bag. Go there often for breakfast and well they had me the very first time at " would you like your taters regular or extra crispy " god would you marry me. Have had a bit of everything for breakfast not once was I disappointed even split a couple of sammich's with the wife one morning holy guacamole were they good. would recommend them hands down to any one. read more

Palmers is a great little hole in the wall café. Very warm and inviting. The staff is very cheery and engaging.

I loved Palmer's Cafe. The nice gentleman host/waiter was so freaking nice. We came on a Sunday morning, clearly VERY busy and packed, but this man kept us all warm with complimentary coffee and a huge smile. I also loved the food and the cool plates which it was served on. Its a small place, with a big heart. I will return for breakfast not only for the food but mostly because I enjoyed the host who was so gracious to us, and professional in a super busy atmosphere. read more
