First time getting a Breakfast Burrito from here and it was DELICIOUS! For around $12, you get eggs, your choice of meat and 3 customize choices from list of ingredients for your burrito. For example; I got Eggs, Bacon and then I selected, Cheese, Potatoes as well as Bell Peppers and Onions. They have 3 salsas you can select from. I got the red and green. This burrito was superb and now I want to try different variations of breakfast burritos from them. That's how good it was. The cashier was nice. She welcomes everyone that comes in which is great. They have plenty of seating inside and outside as well. There's no drive thru, but it's worth a dine in experience. Very clean and lit up which is always a plus. I chose this location only because it was convenient and close to my home. The menu items here are pretty large and a lot to choose from. It being in the morning, I had to pick a breakfast style burrito. For a small Mexican taco/burrito shop, the food here is actually pretty delicious. Especially when you are hungry. Serving sizes are decent and will make you full until dinner. The service is decent, and the ambiance is not that bad. They have an outdoor seating and indoor seating. During the summer time it will get hot inside and outside. So I wouldn't recommend dining in, unless you don't have time to eat. Just grab and go. read more

Located in the same parking lot as Smart and Final. Upon entering l, you'll notice the front counter with a selection of beverages behind it. Al everything from Mexican Coca Cola to Jarritos aguas. Tried the chicken (pollo asada) tacos with everything and a side of beans. Well seasoned and filling. They also have a fresh salsa bar, but chips are not complimentary. A must try when in the area. Been regulars for 10+ years and today will be the last day we go there. My grandmother ordered her regular fish taco and at first pulled out one hair and assumed it was probably hers. Then as she was eating pulled out a clump of hair mid bite. She called Palmitos and the only man who works at the counter who we've always assumed was the manager answered. She told him about the hair and off the bat was defensive saying nobody there had long hair as if she pulled out clumps of hair and went to the trouble to call them. Never offered a discount, offered a new taco if we came back but it just wasn't worth it to do so. The price never bothered us because it was quality food but nothing that price should come with hair and poor customer service. We'll find a new local spot. read more

I've been coming here since 2008. Though I haven't eaten here in years. The food is still as good as I remember it. My bean and cheese was fantastic. Beans perfectly seasoned and just delicious. My fiancee loved her Cali burrito with Carnitas, she said the carnitas were fantastic. We also got the dorito elite and unfortunately that needed some salt, but was still fun! Best Mexican food in clairemont , worst customer service. Both the owner and the females he hires to run the cash register are all rude. Been going here for 15 years and it's always been the same. You could look the owner dead in his face and say thank you so much and he will just completely ignore you and continue talking to the girls he seems to have a very unprofessional relationship with. Palmitos did a solid job--fried and super crunchy tortillas, the meat was seasoned well, and the toppings were plentiful (lettuce, tomato, cheese). Horrible customer service. So we went on Sunday November 10 at 9:05pm and the girls that were there were cleaning already and getting ready to close. We were very hungry so we picked this place to try it out as our first time. When we were about to order the girl that was taking the order told us that they were only serving for take-out, not dine in, I was like "but you guys close at 10pm" and they just said sorry. I have never seen a restaurant that needs an hour head start cleaning. We live 20 miles away so what were we supposed to do? Eat our food in the car or eat the food cold at home. I drove 150 miles and was looking forward to a good meal and a quick stop to refresh, but this place was a complete letdown. The customer service was terrible. The staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. I asked multiple times to use the bathroom, and every single time, I was told that "someone was inside." It was obvious from the employee's expression that she simply didn't want me to use it. It felt like I wasn't welcome there at all. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best--not worth the drive or the hassle. If you're looking for a place with good service and hospitality, I'd recommend going somewhere else. I love coming here for taco Tuesday! Where can you find a taco shop selling tacos for less than $2 anymore?? You can find that here though (as of 1/30/24)! Their taco Tuesday menu doesn't include carne asada but I really enjoy their cabeza, tripe, adobada, and fish. The cabeza has a nice mixture of fat and meat and the cilantro/onion mix on top adds a nice crunch and freshness to every bite. They also provide a lime or two, to cut through the unctuousness. I really like that you have an option of either nacho cheese or shredded cheese for your nachos or fries. We've opted for the nacho cheese before and it's a gooey delicious mess. I've gotten their albondigas and menudo and the broth is light but the meat is so good! The caldo de res is similar to albondigas, with the exception of sliced beef instead of the beef meatballs but the soup is probably the same. The menudo has a plethora of hominy and tripe pieces. The tripe tastes and feels like it's been cooking for hours, and it's not stinky haha We've been coming here every weekend for the last month or two and it's one of our favorites! read more

This place has delicious food and a good variety to pick from. My daughter loves that they have various elotes and they are always a nice size. Last time, they gave us two because they said they were smaller corns but honestly, they were still a decent size each. I always get their albondigas soup. Not just the price, I've also noticed the food is smaller in portions, ok.. However; the staff are friendly and the food still tastes great. Small cute Mexican food shop. About 4 tables inside but they also have a nice outdoor area. They also have a nice self serve sauce bar inside with a delicious spicy habanero sauce. I didn't realize that there was sour cream, and asked if I can have it remade. The head chef/owner (I believe) told me that since I didn't ask for the sour cream to be removed, I can't have it remade. Then, I asked for a refund instead and they still would not accommodate me. Also, throughout the interaction, I feel like the staff had an attitude when talking to me and genuinely thought I was stupid for asking.
