Wanted to try a new burrito spot coming home from San Diego airport. Easy access from the 163. They were very busy with call in orders so I would recommend doing that to avoid a long wait. The weight was about 10 minutes for me at 7:45 AM. Customer service was outstanding. Technology is great for any type of payment. There's room to eat inside the restaurant, atmosphere is typical for San Diego's Mexican restaurant, and adequate parking available. I asked for one of each of their four salsas they offered along with my breakfast burrito. I did not like their roasted/hottest sauce, or their tomatillo green sauce. Their chunky salsa was the best followed by an average avocado sauce. The burrito was built well, beans were excellent, and there was plenty of bacon. I give the breakfast burrito an A minus and the two sauces that I used in the B category. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Overall, I'll be back.

This is by far the best taco shop in Kearny Mesa. I typically order their California burrito with potatoes. The carne asada is extremely flavorful and juicy, always cooked to perfection. I give this place a 10/10! All the time Great customer service!

Stopped here for first time today. Got a regular carne asada burrito with everything hit the spot! Very traditional taco shop. Ill definitely be returning.

Food here is always good, plus it's quick. I usually get burritos from Gualberto's #2. I'd say my coworkers and I grab food from here once or every other week.

I have been looking for amazing Mexican food in San Diego and I finally found my place!! The inside was extremely clean, they were mopping when I walked in. The service was spectacular, everyone there is super nice and friendly. Great value and even better food, can't wait to come back!!

Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. We got seated quickly and got lucky with a side table and perfect view of the city. We saw it during sunset and at night with all the lights. We opted to get the paella for 2 which takes a little extra time to prepare but was well worth the wait. It was so flavorful with all the seafood being a nice touch of salt. It was a little spicy but the cream sauce balanced it well. The rice was fluffy but crispy on the bottom. It could've fed 4 people probably. We got a complimentary slice of strawberry tres leches and it was the perfect ending to our meal. So incredibly light and not too sweet. Our server, Abdo made our dining experience even better with his friendliness and attention to the fact that we were celebrating something. It was grilled perfectly here! The chunks were big enough so you get the squid flavor. It also comes with a sweet/spicy sauce which was unexpected but really yummy. -Battered Fish Taco: my favorite dish! Huge flaky piece of fish that's fried really well. Not too much rough and you can really taste the fish. -Chips and Guac: fresh made guac! Get it as a side order and you can add to your tacos too. It can get really busy here. The chorizo wasn't like Roberto's so there was no grease dripping down my hands. That usually means either too much eggs or better quality meat. I think it was the latter. He made sure that we had what we needed - reminding us to "eat all" of our food then danced behind the counter. It was a fun breakfast.

We left right away to pick up the food and sure enough it was ready waiting for our arrival. One quick drive back home to dig in and the aroma was so enticing. California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco. I, on the other hand, am a huge fan of veggies and liked the ample amount they provided. ---- There's a couple benches outside in front of the shop and seating at booth tables inside as well. It's a bit smaller to sit inside, I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the fresh air and the sunset is beautiful. ---- Overall: if you're in the mood for California Burritos come to the place rightly named California Burritos!
