I came here with a couple of co-workers and was super excited to see that 1. they serve breakfast all day and 2. they serve biscuits and gravy. I knew I wanted the biscuits and gravy going in so when I walked in and saw the expansive menu I stuck to my guns and ordered that along with a side of bacon. It's a McAlisters/Jason's Deli type ordering experience ordering up front and sitting down with a number. The cashier was very friendly and we found a seat with no problem. We got our food around 15 minutes later and I was kind of disappointed. The gravy was super white and there was only 1 biscuit. Sometimes one biscuit is plenty, but this time it wasn't. It just wasn't very good. I would definitely go back but I would get something else, probably a sandwich which seems to be more of their specialty. read more

Met a friend here for lunch today, as it was a good half-way point for both of us. It was quiet when we got there with just a few others eating lunch. You order at the counter, they give you a number and bring your food when it's ready. People were friendly, service was ok (it was basically self-serve other than having your food brought out), food was good but we weren't wow'd. They have a large menu and serve breakfast all day. Outstanding service. Food is to die for, twice, because proportions are big enough for two meals. Ordered: 1) New York, New York: the cafe favorite. Four different types of meat, roast beef, pastrami,turkey and corned beef served on grilled rye bread with Swiss Cheese, and Thousand Island Dressing. Loaded Garden Omelet: spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and Pepper Jack Cheese. By eating outside on their tables I was able to take my dog to sit at my table with me. Food was alright my roommate and i did the make your own omlet. they put wayy to many muchrooms in with the other ingrediants, they kinda skimped on the other ingredients. My roomate had gotten tomatos mushrooms and spinach with american cheese. it was pretty much all spinach. I went for breakfast paid for four it was almost $70 dollars which included one egg most restaurants give you 2 or 3 a piece of French toast cut in half. Precooked bacon I was not happy with my breakfast or the price. read more

This restaurant recently got new owners in the last year or so. We've tried them out a few times but will no longer after today. Our Togo order was wrong and when I called to let them know they could either bring me a new meal or refund my money the owner didn't believe that my order was wrong and I then had to be inconvenienced more and drive the food back to the restaurant (20 minutes) to prove it was wrong. The owner is rude and doesn't care about their customers. I would visit one of the other many local restaurants in Salisbury and will not be recommending this restaurant anymore. read more

I've had this restaurant one other time before and the service continues to be trash. I came in yesterday May 28th after my graduation for breakfast and there was about 9-11 people in my party. I get that the inside was reserved and they sat us outside that's perfectly fine it wasn't too early or too hot yet. The server didn't even take drink orders till about 30 mins after we arrived, again fine I understand they were busy. We then waited another 30-40 mins for the drinks to even get to the table, by then everyone in the party knew what they wanted and she still didn't take our orders when we told her we were ready. After our orders were finally taken we waited damn near 2 hours for the ducking food. And when my food specifically came I ordered and bacon egg and cheese sandwich with grits and corn beef hash as EXTRA SIDES I pulled some of the egg off the sandwich as I was still waiting for my sides to come out and the egg had SHELL in it. I had to complain about the sandwich 3 times before they took it back and when they did the "manager" I guess rushed outside with the male cook (keep in mind i'm an 18yo female) telling me that she PUT HER HANDS ON THE BREAD OF THE SANDWICH AND DIDNT SEE ANY SHELLS and that I was lying about what I know I ate. The male cook was overly aggressive and was very rude about remaking my order. When he bought it out the second time my order was completely WRONG there was no bacon and iI asked for scrambled eggs (the eggs were runny) he didn't make my sandwich and threw the plate down on the table. My mom then had to intervene with my dad and uncle because he was being so aggressive about the situation. read more

I went here for breakfast with a colleague on her suggestion after a long 12 hour shift and it was wonderful! The food was light, fresh, and very tasty. I had the Loaded Garden Omelet, fresh fruit, and homemade wheat toast with a medium latte. She had french toast with turkey sausage. Our bill came to $16 and change, perhaps a little pricey but the quality was there and the portions were large, so I didn't mind. The venue itself has a hipster coffee bar vibe, kinda like if Starbucks and Panera Bread had a baby but not so corporate. While my wife was still in college, I'd always look forward to coming to Palms for a meal or a snack. It wasn't a far walk from where she lived at the time which was quite helpful when we'd want a quick gelato. As I've consumed a number of meals here, let me start with breakfast. Omelettes are large and quite filling. The side hasbrowns are also very generous. I'd often be up here after physically taxing weeks of work, and breakfast here could always sate me. Which is a feat in and of itself. My wife would often get the French Toast, which she would often ask me to help finish off, since the portion was big. Much like the breakfast options, lunch is also very filling. Their sandwiches are well made, but my favorite might be their salads. The Caesar with grilled chicken held me over for quite some time and the chicken was plentiful. Now, onto other options! The gelato is fantastic. House made and full of flavors to please all tastes. Sure, there is the chocolate and vanilla that can be expected, but I like to explore and try different flavors. Their sweet potato gelato tasted like the best parts of Thanksgiving. Well, minus the turkey and dressing. But the spices, and pumpkin notes in the sweet potato gelato made me lust over the simple pleasures of late Autumn. There is also beer. There are conventional options: Yuengling, Coors and some other big label beers, but I'm happy they feature beers from Mother Earth Brewing in Kinston, NC. I'm a sucker for a local beer, and I've long been a fan of Mother Earth's line of beers. I feel like my review isn't doing justice for Palms, and I think it has much to do with the large size of the menu. It reminds me of diners in the Northeast, where the menus cover much ground and everything comes out tasting great. I suggest giving Palms a try. They have something you will like. read more

They allow dogs in their outdoor seating; I asked. The fries were old & cold; I expected fresh & hot. They don't deserve more than a $2 tip. No one asked me how my food was or brought me a napkin. The turkey club I ordered was good, arrived at the table fast, and was worth the visit, but it was $7.49 just for the sandwich. I'd try other spots for lunch before I'd come back. In town for the Polar Express Train Ride we decided to try this place for breakfast before going home. We read the reviews and decided to try it based on that and we're glad we did! This place is awesome for breakfast. I just wished we could stick around for lunch. The menu is a little overwhelming but the staff helped us simplify it. Our orders came out fast, they were cooked perfectly and the portions were perfect too. The wife said the home fries had a little too much seasoning but in my opinion they were great. Would definitely recommend for breakfast or lunch. Oh, and they have some desserts that look amazing. Although I am not a fan of the order and pay before you sit, self service restaurant model. I must confess the Palms Cafe has pulled this off very well. I recently ate there passing through town and let me tell you the home fries were by far the best I have ever had, notice I said ever and I am 60 yrs old. My breakfast was so good I stopped and got a lunch to go. Hamburger and fries and it was one of the best, if not the biggest hamburger I have had in the 2.5 years since moving to Concord, NC. If you are going down Interstate 85 through Salisbury NC and want to eat. Do yourself a favor and drive the 1.5 or two miles down Innes St. and enjoy a very pleasant and tasty treat. My gripe is I can tell the potatoes were frozen then griddled. Horrible customer service the wait staff gave the wrong meals out and the manager blamed our group for the mistake. It was terrible and they didn't even want to give me back the original receipt for the refund process. The manager suggested for me and a party in my group to swap our food out which is not even hygienic. Please have someone come and see how clean this place is. Worst customer service ever. read more

Just because you pay fresh food prices does not mean that you're guaranteed fresh food. Example: they use canned spinach in their omelets. Yum. I have been to The Palms a few times and while it has never been great, it has yet to be bad. It is typically crowded/loud- a favorite lunch spot for co-workers. You order at the counter and put your number on the table. Most recently, I ordered the BLT. They asked if I wanted the sandwich toasted, and I said yes. When it came out, the bread itself was toasted, but the pepperjack cheese was cold. I might be the only one who thinks this odd; it was still on par for a BLT I suppose. This seems to indicate that a large portion of the food is assembled rather than cooked. Take that as you will. They serve Boar's Head deli meats, which is always a good sign in my book. The salads look yummy, though I've never tasted them. The gelato, however, looks quite sad. Still, it seems that you can find a good meal if you know what to get. I believe that The Palms could greatly benefit from a reduced menu featuring only their best items. If I ever came back, I might opt for an item that says "made to order"- and avoid anything containing spinach. read more
