Everyday special: 1/2 Chicken Salad Croissant, Potato Soup, and Homemade Potato Chips (Tea Not Pictured!)
    Whitney B.

I've been a customer of the Palms Cafe since it opened, and have always loved whatever I ordered. The everyday special is fantastic to pickup for lunch during the work week, but the reuben is one of my favorite comfort foods. The omelettes, waffles, and hash browns are also amazing! The staff is always friendly, and the kitchen is quick to get orders out. Locals already know this is the restaurant to go to, but I highly recommend it to visitors!

This was my first time coming to Palms since they had the changes! I didn't love palms before because the menu was overwhelming and you needed a mega magnifying glass to read it. Now, it's a whole new world! Sit down dining, with waiters/waitresses. I love that they serve breakfast all day. My dad got French toast, eggs and bacon and it looked yummy! I got the Buffalo chicken wrap with chips, which was delicious! I'm picky about homemade chips, and these were cooked to perfection. Excited to come back and try a few more items on the menu.

I love the club sandwich here. Pasta salad is great too. Not too quick at lunch but I don't care. Food's great all the time.

Gluten free pizza 10" pineapple and Pepperoni

We stopped here on our way to Virginia on our long 21 hour road trip from Texas. I have to say hands down the best gluten free pizza I've ever had! I even ordered one to save for later. They offered many gluten free items and our waitress, Logan, was super knowledgeable about the needs for gluten free, which I appreciated. Logan was super friendly and provided great services. She was on top of drink refills.

    POTATO SOUP WITH BACON

Second visit and will probably be the last. Daughter ordered a garden salad with grilled chicken, but it was delivered without chicken and they said they never added the chicken to the order. I ordered potato soup. Plain salad and some soup....$14? Are you kidding me? They got my daughter her chicken and added another $4 for a small chicken breast for her salad. The chicken was BLAND. The blue cheese dressing was weak. My daughter ate half and said it wasn't worth the calories. The soup was good but not very much in the "bowl". $18 for some soup and a salad. Pretty pricey. There are other options out there.

Sorry already ate half of my club! It's huge and ohhh so good!!!

Absolutely awesome service (Cheyenne) and delicious food! The Palms Salisbury Club is loaded with BH ham and turkey with three slices of bacon! I chose cheddar instead of Swiss and the alfalfa sprouts were such a treat!

The sign reads Palms Grill and Pizzeria.

We were passing through Salisbury and stopped for lunch. A coworker who used to live there recommended Palms Café. I had a veggie burger and added Swiss cheese and mushrooms. My daughter had a turkey burger and my wife had a vegetable plate. Everyone enjoyed their food and agreed we would come back the next time we were passing through town. Our server did a great job, kept our glasses full and checked on us just the right amount.

    New decor looks really awesome!!!

What great sandwich shop turned full restaurant. Since the pandemic they have gone way out on a limb to update and remodel the cafe and not only does it look great, the food is just as good as always . The owners there understand what good food and company mean. Please check this place out the next time you're in Salisbury. Not far from the VA and the hospital, a great place for food and conversation.

It's a smaller spot with the ordering counter and kitchen in the back and maybe seating for 26 or so. The folks behind the counter were friendly and the order process was simple. I got their sandwich special, the Buffalo Soldier. It was chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and ranch on ciabatta. I made it a combo with chips and a soda. With tip I think the total was around $17. That was a touch more expensive than I was expecting especially with just a bag of chips on the side. The sandwich was good. Between the blue cheese and the ranch it was really creamy and most of the toppings slide off with the second bite. I don't mind a mess though! The ciabatta bread was the perfect compliment for the sandwich. It was a cute spot and I especially liked the creative sandwich names. I'd go back and try the chicken ceasar wrap next time.

Our server, I forget her name, was the epitome of hospitality and service. She anticipated our needs (refills, to go containers etc) - chatted about the history or the restaurant and town - providing suggestions not just for dinner but attractions on our way to our destination. She was just so very cool. The food was great - I opted for Greek Spaghetti. Different than I've had before but enjoyed it all the same. It was like the flavor was liquid or broth form, pooled at the bottom of the dish. Another version I had was dry, like Pesto. Anyway - when I figured out all the goodness was at the bottom of the plate - it was all over from there. Mixed it up a little. Toss in a little crushed red peppers for taste. Then inhaled it all until it was all gone. The al dente noodles. Charred chicken. All just right. The service for me made it an excellent experience. Food was good and I enjoyed it enough that if I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop in - but not before trying other places first. But if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.

I was very pleasantly informed that I should've looked on Facebook, then I would've known the restaurant was closing early. That's not something I do when deciding on where I want to dine, but, lesson learned We ordered the "starter sampler" for an appetizer, which consisted of collard green dip with pita chips, fried green tomatoes, and deviled eggs with bacon jam! It was delicious!!!! For our entrees, we ordered the Collard Green Grilled Cheese, with seasoned fries, and the Southern Bowl. We also ordered Sweet Tea, and Signature Lemonade, both were good! But no free refills on the lemonade....The Collard Green Grilled Cheese was phenomenal, well seasoned greens, with smoked Gouda cheese on perfectly grilled buttered Texas Toast!!!! WOW!!!! The fries were hot and not overly seasoned!! The Southern Bowl was awesome, the grits were cheesy and creamy, topped with collard greens, and 2 perfectly seasoned fried flounder fillets! If I HAD to complain about something, it would be that there was just a tad too much "pot liquor" in my bowl and nothing to sop it up with‍ Fleming Street Bakery & Southern Cuisine is a great place to enjoy great food. Food Freaks is on Innes Street in the old Smoke Pit location. You will find exposed brick on the inside. There is a bar where they prepare their cocktails. There are no beers on tap, but they have a good selection of can beers. I had the Sweet Water Blue, a blueberry wheat ale. The Hubster had the Black Widow Cider. Both were very good. It looks like the selection can change but what they have is posted on a board behind the bar. I didn't have a cocktail, but I watched the bartender prepare quite a few - they looked pretty good. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The welcome board at the hostess section will announce Chef Features for the month. We put our name in and was seated right away. There was just two of us and it was about 6:00 on a Friday evening. Quite impressive! We were given the menu, the Chef Features and a cocktail menu upon seating. Our server was very helpful when we had questions about anything. We didn't order an appetizer, but the table next to us ordered the pickle dogs that looked amazing! So skipping the appetizers we went all in with our sandwiches - and that's all they have here - there are no dishes so don't expect a steak plate. There are burgers and handhelds served with fries or substitute with a side. I ordered the Rhythm and Blue with the fries and the Hubster had The Dirty Cowboy. Both were delicious! The burgers are cooked medium unless you ask otherwise. It was mouthwatering and wasn't dry at all. The combination of the blue cheese, bacon jam and sriracha mayo works! Those fries though!!!! Exceptional! They are hand cut and cooked in Beef Tallow with a pinch of salt and pepper!!! Amazingly good! I will have to say there was some drawbacks, not show stoppers by any means. The prices are expensive for burgers, which is fine for the 'exotic' combinations they have. I don't mind paying upwards of $19 for one, but was disappointed with the buns. I was expecting the buns to be as exotic as the burgers, but it was an ordinary barbecue bun. It still works, but the bun game needs to be upped. The other thing is we didn't have napkins or utensils. There were no napkins on the table, and let me tell you, these burgers can get messy. We were given one paper towel when I asked for one and still no silverware. Ask for several paper towels and silverware when you go because like I said, it's going to get messy. We will be back to try some of the other combinations they prepare. The food was very good, the staff was attentive, albeit the cutlery and napkins, and the atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. If you have been wanting to try this place then go and do it. I can't wait to read your review!

We love to eat out and we chose to eat here for my birthday this year…read more I sent a letter to the restaurant a week ago. This is an edited version. First impression: We were not automatically offered a table inside or out but were told "Follow me" to the outside table. Please see the photo. Does this look like a nice setup for an almost $300 meal? The table was wobbly. The paint on the wall was peeling. Maybe they should hire an artist to decorate that blank wall. The inside is very dark. First course: Oysters. Sauce delicious: BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH TINY OYSTERS. Barely a blip in your mouth, 1/4"?? These are on the menu also as charred? Huh? Do they have different oysters for that? Nothing would be left. We got tiny oysters on seaweed did not match even the photo on their web site, decent size oysters on ice. One week later I ate at a restaurant in Hickory and got six fabulous oysters for $13.25. CV charges $21. Main course: Branzino and asparagus. $52. Very nice. But (and I just had to look back at the menu on line to see what this was), the charred radish was so hard you could hardly poke a fork into it, inedible. And I was not aware of a single fava bean as advertised on the menu. Swordfish special: $52. Slightly overcooked. Blackened carrots rock hard, inedible. Whoever is in charge of vegetables needs to taste before sending out. While we were eating the fish, the server placed two steak knives on the table. Huh? Dessert: Dubai chocolate eclair sounded great. Maybe bought at Costco or Sams??? Two arrived on a plate with absolutely no presentation. One with a squiggle of chocolate underneath would have been better. Absolutely no pistachio flavor and VERY COLD. Should be room temperature. Did they come out of the fridge or freezer? Perhaps at room temperature flavor would have been more obvious. It was nice that when I had mentioned dark instead of milk chocolate the kitchen used dark. Table not cleared for dessert. Steak knives still there. Irish coffee: there is more to Irish coffee than adding whisky to a lukewarm cup of coffee and asking if I wanted cream after coffee was delivered. I enclosed the recipe and photo in my letter. Wine: wine list fairly priced. Our server did not know anything about the Cotes de Rhone we questioned but brought the bottle for us to have a look at. As vineyard and winery owners we grew viognier, this is why we were interested in this particular bottle. The server took our photo and I mentioned it was my birthday. In many cases this would be referred to the kitchen. Nothing special ensued. The well dressed owner (Doreen) walked past our table a number of times (sometimes carrying used dishes or glasses) without even glancing at us. I guessed she was the owner and spoke up. A nod and hello would have been nice. We came here with an open mind prepared to spend a large sum on a birthday dinner. Read the captions under the pictures. One oyster shot from their web site. Wish I had photo'ed what I got. The other oyster shot Hickory Restaurant one week later for less money.
