They didn't even clean the wheels and I had to separately ask for it. Then a lady scrubbed over for one minute and said it's done. I'm very picky about car washes and usually I do it myself but I didn't have the stuff I needed or the time. I got the detail on the car along with the carpet wash. Car wash is free if you get two of those products which came out to $79.99 ($89 with a $10 tip). The outside of my vehicle looked good, I definitely can't complain about that. The reason I'm giving them three stars is because they didn't even wipe down the inside of my car! I understand that I only got the carpet clean but I have to spend another $40 just to have my vehicle wiped down on the inside?! I just spent $79 the least they could have done was wipe down the dashboard. Besides that the service is great, they have very friendly employees. Palms is legit. I have a black German sports sedan, so I'm very, very particular about where I take it to get washed. The Bay Area had a ton of viable options, as you'd expect, but it's been harder to find a good car wash here since moving to Austin. This is surprising, considering the driving culture so prevalent in Texas. It's always busy, but I've never had to wait very long, which is awesome. I always go for the Ultimate, which at $13, includes a bunch of extras (the usefulness of which is hard to determine). You'd probably be fine with the $11 option. Before you go into the car wash, an attendant sprays your car down. The car wash itself is a pretty standard experience, though I've never been worried about my car or paint being damaged, which is not the case for gas station car washes. Once you've emerged, your car is towel dried, and you're on your way. One thing to note, if you have complex wheels, or just want a more thorough cleaning, the full service add-on is COMPLETELY worth it at $10. I've noticed that while the basic car wash is good overall, it doesn't do the best job on your wheels. If you add this option, you pull your car into a detailing bay after you're done with the wash. While you relax in plush, leather couches in the air conditioned waiting room, they clean the whole interior of your car, including wiping down the dashboard and all interior surfaces (not leather seats, though), cup holders, etc., vacuuming, cleaning the windows inside and out, and doing a thorough job on your wheels. One other tip - towel drying service ends at 6 (car washes closes at 8), so if you want your car hand dried (you do), get there before 6. I've never used their waxing or detailing service (I live pretty close, so I wax it myself as soon as I get home). The staff is extremely friendly and thorough, and I'm always happy to tip. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I went to the palms car wash at 183 because I had been recommended by friends that it was really good and it was really close to my school. On Fed. 18 I decided that it was time to clean my car, it had a nice layer of dirt/pollen on it, the windows had a think film on them and the floor of my car need a really good vacuum. I got the Ultimate wash plus Supreme $13 and The Super Clean express $44.99, a total of $57.99 I was in a bit of a rush to get to class so I didn't really make sure that they did a decent job....I really should have. the interior/Exterior windows still had a layer of think film EXCEPT! for the drivers side. in the package they say "Fragrance of choice" I never got asked about any fragrane. My car still had a fine layer of Dirt all over it (WTF) the only thing that was decently done was the interior vacuuming, getting rid of my dust in my car and the wheels. for the money I payed I did expect a bit more out of it then a half ass job...... all i have to say to all this is that I will not be doing business with them again. read more

Great car wash - just know what you want and make sure you package accordingly, the staff was super friendly and informative and for about 25 bucks you get the ultimate plus supreme, and also a full cleaning of the interior, everything.. Well worth it and a great value. Tire shine could be a little more on the shiny side though! Other than that, very thorough and did a great job cleaning inside and out, they even shampooed the mats which wasn't in the package! Will be back if in the area and need a wash! read more

I gave this business three tries. The first experience I had was impressive. I paid for the $13 Ultimate wash. My entire vehicle was shiny clean. I thought I had found the place that would be my go-to for car washes. My second visit was less impressive. Again, I paid for the $13 Ultimate wash and was disappointed to see that my tires were still dirty by the time I got out of the wash. There were a few spots that still had some dirt and dead insects. I decided to go back a third time and purchase the Ultimate wash since the first experience was okay. However, this turned out to be even worse. There was still dried on insects, bird droppings, and dirt to be found everywhere on my vehicle. Not to mention, my tires were even dirtier than the time before. You would think the person who dries off your car at the end would notice these spots and attempt to wipe them off. Despite the car wash, the free vacuums are nice. Definitely beats the quarter machines used at other washes. I do not expect to go back there anytime soon as I will be trying out other car washes in the area. read more

Drive thru car wash. Yea. Yea. Went yesterday, oober busy. Robert pointed out my head lights looking a bit dingy. Says come back tomorrow and I'll have them buffed out for you at a good price. I was skeptical, then he points out his headlights-says he's not trying to sell me. I mull over this for a day. Looking at headlights eveywhere. Mind you his sold me right off. I really don't understand all of the bad reviews about this place. Its Cheap and a great value. I use the self serve wash and vacuums. They do have multi-purpose cleaner in the vacuum area along with towels! I use the Platinum monthly plan thats 28.99. As long as you go 4 times a month (or more), its worth getting into. read more

If you just want to go through the automatic car wash and use the free vacuums, this is probably one of the nicer car washes in town. However, my experience of their "full service" was terrible. I spent about $140 and that got me: a) a hand wax, which came out smudgey, b) a shampoo of the seats (only seats, not the tiny smidgen of carpet which would have been another $45), in which they did not even bother to pick up a magazine lying on the back seat. Seriously. I thought it was odd that they'd put the magazine back in exactly the same position, then noticed the seat fabric was BONE DRY underneath it and damp everywhere else, and c) A clean of the plastic. The guy who took my money specifically gestured to ALL the plastic, which is only the door handles and a small central console in addition to the dashboard. While I have no complaints about the work they did on the dashboard, they clearly did not even touch the other bits. So after $140 I ended up redoing most of this work myself. We left our sunroof open overnight and the car had gotten rained into while being parked under a tree. Yuck. Since it's our only car, our schedule is kind of limited. Palms was open today, and it was bit of a drive from our 35/45 location but it was easy to find. I was a little confused when I drove up, parked in one of the detail spots, and asked a nearby employee what to do. He directed me to drive into the car wash area. The employee at the carwash lanes was really nice and gave some great suggestions on what to do. I regret not asking about the specials, because the price he gave me was twice as much as I had seen on the website. We paid and drove through the carwash, which consisted first of an employee hand spraying down the car and scrubbing it some, then through the mechanical bits. At the end, some young looking boys wiped the car down. I wasn't happy about this, as it just left streaks and smudges all over the outside of the windows. Next, we parked in the detail station again and left our car with them for about an hour to go have lunch. We came back to a super clean car! It smelled nice and was all clean inside. My only complaint is that everything was slippery. Also, the interior of my windshield was really streaky and smudged, and I can't see out my back window for some reason. It's really foggy? Long story short, a little disappointed in the service, not thrilled about the price, but overall it was okay for something I needed quickly. read more

This is just a glorified drive-through car wash... There is no service included with any of the wash packages you buy... You have to go into a full detail package in order to get any kind of service whatsoever... They charge a high price for a simple drive-through car wash and any vacuuming or drying is left up to you... When I pay for extras like a wheel shine, I expect someone to actually shine my wheels. That does not happen here, they just flash a sign that says "Tire Shine" during the drive through process. The drive through wash is not that great either... So after like 2 years of not having a detail in my car I took it here and have never seen my car this clean since I bought it off the lot. It took them an hour because they worked on it so hard, they charge extra for dog hair....BUT it's beyond worth it, I have tried so many vacuums including other car wash places, and NOTHING would get out my dog hair, but they did. Oh my! This used to be my favorite car wash/detail, however, today was the worst experience I've had at any car wash. I had to summon all my patience to endure the many times I had to point out the cleaning that was left undone after paying for the premium service at an $82 cost. My seats were not cleaned properly, they were extremely wet, crumbs were left on the seats, carpet, under the carpet, chocolate on the door handles, dash undone; it was so frustrating. My advice, go when the mostly all female staff is working..they do an incredible job! It is my hope that they are paid more than their male counterparts, as they should be for a job well done, so my thanks to the ladies, you rock! I will never come back to this place! Oscar is very rude and disrespectful. He doesn't speak with customers with respect or care he should not work in any capacity that deals with people. Oscar is disgruntled because he evidently is not happy with his life choices so he takes it out on customers. I love that this place has an option for the do-it-yourselfers and those of us who would rather pay someone else to do it. You just drive your care through the wash (or really you sit and check your phone while it moves through the was for you) and then if you paid for detail you pull over to the left and go sit in the lobby until they are done. If you didn't pay for detail then you can pull over to the right and use the free vacuums to finish the job yourself. Either way, its a decent car wash and it is cheaper than the options I had back home. What I don't like about this place is how long they take. The first time I went there was one car ahead of me, today there were 2 cars ahead of me and each time it has taken them over 45 minutes to vacuum out the mats and wipe down the inside. For as long as it takes them you would expect the car to be perfect but it isn't. Also, the first time I went I paid for the option to have them clean the seats. I have leather seats so it really shouldn't have been that hard but the backseat where my dog sits was just as dirty when I left as it was when I pulled in (minus the dog hair). I would still go back just because the basic stuff is worth it but I would skip the detail option. They just take too long and they do not do a good enough job to justify the time or the money. read more

I have run my car through 2-3 times before without getting the bugs off. Vacuums are just okay. Don't expect the detail to do a good job, either. (1/22/2017) - Had Wash + Detail. Way Over-priced for quality of Service $62+ and took way too long, over 1-1/2 hours. Guys as the wash exit drying vehicle with dirty towels. Windows smeared inside and out. Had to even ask the Detail guy to remove the White Chalk off the driver window that the guy at the entrance/pay area wrote the wash type on the window with. Cleaning Rags way too dirty. I can go to the Finish Line in Westlake and get a 10 times better service for $20 less! read more

The car wash I normally like to go to has closed, so I've been going to the Palms. Last time I went, I paid for the ultimate wash and only half my dashboard was cleaned. On the passenger side, I could still see dog hair and could see where the guy had stopped wiping. I went again today and had to go through the car wash 3 times because the guy that scrubs off the car before it goes through the wash wasn't getting all the bugs off the front of my car. In his defense, I did recently drive from Arizona, so my car was really dirty, but 3 times is a bit excessive. David, who was one of the towel dryers, kept telling me to go through again because there were still bugs in the front. After the 2nd time through, David told me he was going to scrub the car himself since the first guy wasn't doing a good enough job. I give 5 stars to David, but the other employees could be better. If you go here and get your car detailed, try asking for David. I'm not sure if he is always working the towel drying position, but I will definitely try asking for him since i know he will be thorough. read more

A large truck was in front of us and barely made clearance. Due to its size, it got stuck in the car wash on the tracks and caused us to rear end it despite us being in neutral on a conveyor belt. The truck was only able to make it out due to employees of the car wash pushing it out. Once we were able to get out of the car wash and assess the damage on the front of our car, the general manager said they reviewed the video but said they are not responsible for any accidents despite this being their fault. Poor customer service!! Highly suggest you look elsewhere when wanting to take care of your car. read more

But the last few times I've gone the man at the front ALWAYS try's to up-sell me to the point where I get annoyed. Today I went to get the same service but this time he told me it would be $180! When I told him I normally get the basic and a wash for around $60 he said the best he could do is $160! They even advertise the basic car detail (super clean) for $44.99 on their website. I have three different vehicles and so its usually a fun afternoon with myself and the boys as I drive the mercedes in, followed by the Jeep and last but not least the Harley. If I could give this place a negative score I would!! I have been here a couple of times. The first time I went there they told me an antenna on my truck would probably be fine (probably because they couldn't get it off with their bare hands and there was a line of people behind me), and the antenna broke off. Yesterday I decided to give them a try again, what a bad mistake that was. I paid for the Ultimate car wash ($13), yet did not really witness all of the "extra rinses" and then at the end they didn't even put tire shine on my tires. All that seems very minor, but then when I tried calling them to find out if I could get reimbursed or SOMETHING I sat on hold for 10min and hung up after waiting that long AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! read more

Kudos to the guys at Palms car wash. The management has changed since I took my car there last year. I got full service wash, inside & out and wax. They went above and beyond, very professional and courteous, and did a great job. This is an older car I bought because my car threw a rod and I still owed on it... The seats were terribly dirty & stained. They got the seats a lot cleaner and more stain free than I expected!!! I highly recommend them. My car is all sparkly inside & out...
