Every single time I tried to schedule a groom or boarding, there were issues. What should have been a simple process turned into a drawn-out, frustrating experience with poor communication and no clear answers. To make things worse, after multiple attempts to get something scheduled, they claimed they "didn't like my tone" and refused to allow me to make a reservation at all. I've never experienced anything like that. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or help a customer, they chose to shut the door completely. Customer service is where they completely fall apart. Responses are slow, often rude or dismissive, and there's zero sense of urgency or accountability. It genuinely feels like they don't value their customers. At this point, it's hard to tell if they even care about having customers at all, let alone new ones. Do yourself a favor and avoid 2nd Family Dog at all costs. There are plenty of other businesses out there that will treat you with respect and actually make the process easy.

At Punky's Canine Club (PCC), dogs can be on vacation while you're away. We allow dogs to be dogs, to roam freely, socialize and play under supervised conditions. At PCC, dogs are only crated by necessity. That does mean guests have to meet some simple requirements (listed on our website) so all can be safe and happy. PCC is also our home, so dogs are almost never left alone. If they must be due to necessity or emergency, they are crated and monitored by CCTV. This is a family business. I was assured that it would only be for two days (until Monday). I asked to see where the cats would be staying and was informed that I was not allowed to see where they would be kept as it was not a tour day/time. I expressed my concern about not being informed prior to arriving that the cat room would be closed for a portion of our stay and that I was not allowed to see where the cats would be boarded. The cats ended up being in the cat kennel for four days (instead of two days) and ACE Pet Resort charged me the full price for the cat condos even though my cats were in kennels for the first 4 days.

We believed they were not given enough water and were grossly dirty when we picked them up. The other dog was a stronger breed so he got through it. After this boarding, they both became very needy, understandably. Another thing I just remembered, later in the day after we picked them up, the weak one developed a fever and became lethargic. I called them up. They told us to go pick up medications for him and charged us too. Their boarding fees were not cheap either. We didn't mind the charges because we wanted the best for our pets, but that was not the case.
