Located inside Waipahu Festival Marketplace. I always have the Goto (rice porridge with beef intestine and tripe) topped with crispy garlic, green onions and calamansi. Good portion, I couldn't even finish the whole bowl. I also wanted to get the Tokwa't baboy but they didn't have it (not sure if they didn't serve it that day or sold out). You're lucky if you get an available seat at their table.

Super dry meat, but everything else was super oily and fatty

Went about an hour until closing, so think some things were out. With the shield and noise, 1 worker had hard time hearing, but the other helped her out - still some confusion. Hubs got the blood meat - he really liked it b/c had a lot of meat and they put a lot of sauce on his rice. He also got a veggie that was not overcooked or gushy so was really good. I ordered a side order guisantes. Not too many peas which is good for me. They put a lot of bell peppers in too, so that was good. Very tasty. They sell the lechon in slabs. They sell by the weight, and do not cut. The skin was crispy but the meat was dry and there was a lot of fat. When I brought it back to work I sliced off the fat and just ate the skin. Maybe not so bad if it's chopped and in small pieces, but as a whole piece, it was just too messy and oily for my taste.

Love the food here at Pampanga Kitchen (inside the Waipahu Festival Market Place) Good food and prices. Awesome kakanin too.

Pampanga is a food stand located in the waipahu festival market. They have delicious and a variety of both meat and vegetable filipino cooked food which includes breadnut, pinakbet, inabrow, dinuguan, squid, liang, etc for a reasonable price. Depending who you get, they can give you a mound or a scoop and a half. Liang - 4 stars - not that many people eat this dish made with laulau leaves. Sometimes it's really spicy. Breadnut - 5 stars - a dish very different, but not always offered. Dinuguan - filipino chocolate - 3 1/2 stars. Not my favorite' but ok. Not gamey, and sometimes mixed with innards. Noodles - 3 1/2 stars - they offer an assortment of spaghetti, vermicelli pancit noodles. Desserts - 4 stars - not too sweet and they have an assortment prepackaged in a thin plastic container. Large parking lot in the front, but very crowded so sometimes have to wait until someone pulls out.

I came here craving some Filipino food and Thelma's only has take out. This location has dine in but we decided to take out our orders. I decided to get goto which was topped with tripe, onions and ginger. It came with a tiny calamansi to put in my goto. It's also known as arizcaldo which is a rice poridge. It's so good! I miss my mom's cooking. This was so good! Just like mom's. The inside was clean and there were plenty of tables inside. I definitely would come back to try other items. The lady at the register was nice. Plenty of parking up front.

Love their food and how close they are to all my other fav shops! Came down to grab their ph number for all of us trying to plan ahead! Yw lol

Pampanga Kitchen slighty over half pound Lechon $7 (6/10) Rank 11th of 20

The Real Deal As fellow Yelper Mark D puts it, this place is the real deal. Located inside the Waipahu Festival Market (See that review for more pics) PK is split into 2 sections. Theres the food and fried treats as you enter, and towards the middle is the cantina like seating section specializing in a variety of exquisite and traditional soups. Im greatful you can get a 2 choice here under $10 bucks unlike those other places charging almost double for less with "Rail Skimming" Prices. While we are focusing the lechon in this series of reviews, I will say again, the ambience and food here is as close to the real markets (as oppose to fake ones) in the Phillipines. I actually wanted to get some other food besides the lechon but I got there at 2pmish and they had already sold out! There are some language barrier difficulties here and ordering can be a little disorganized. Patience is key. They also serve up what I will consider as the best Ilocos Empanda on the isle! Its filled with pork, mungo bean, egg and its shell is tinted orange from annatto seed oil. ORDER: Little over 1/2 Pound Lechon $7 SNAP CRACKLE CRUNCHOMETER: (7/10) The piece I got was a random pick and the variety to choose from is usually bountiful. Skin was crunchy and slices had a slight crisp. The rough chop gave a good sample of big chunks and thin chunks resulting in varying spikes in the crisp and crunchometer. Love the crackling bubbles on this one! JUICYNESS: (6/10) On its own, the lechon was a more fattier pick (remember you get to choose) and when compared with Kambigans, this one edges it out. AROMATICS: (5/10) I felt the oil was a little cleaner here and when I asked if it included onions and tomatoes, I chuckled when she vigorously replied, "You gotta make your own!" I understood what she meant but Lol, thats like asking for a drink with a combo and them telling you theres no drinks and that you need to drink the Coke in your fridge at your house instead! VALUE: (7/10) The abundance for you to choose from and the abilty to know which one to pick, is key to whether you get a nice slab of balanced lean mean to fat ratio. Going price is about average and I appreciated that they did honor my 1/2 pound request here. OVERALL RATING AND RANK: (6/10) While I felt the Lechon was average here, this spot still shines with its genuine flavors and charitable prices.

    Garlic shrimp with pancit
    Janice T.

My first time dining here with my Mom. I decided to try the garlic shrimp with pancit. The dish was yummy, I liked the flavor, so can taste the garlic but it's more on the sweeter side. The pancit comes with calamansi, we asked for me as it comes with just one. I will definitely be back to try other dishes and will have to try the halo halo.

I ordered bulalo and all i got was a piece of meat, and tons of cartilage and maybe 4 pieces of the vegtable( petchay) - all for $17

For the price and the food. $ 17 for a pc of meat , tons of bones and maybe 4 petchay.

    Goat Pinapaitan

Pampanga Kitchen is a humble food stand in the Filipino Fiesta Marketplace in Waipahu. If you were born before the 90s you'd say this place was near the old Arakawas. Dinning area surrounds the kitchen. Order and pay at the front then take a seat. Two things caught my eye. Some Customers eating Arroz Caldo (Rice porridge/the safe bet) and some eating Pinapaitan (Goat or Beef innards/the acquired taste). Many places serve arrow caldo. Not many serve Pinapaitan. Went with the Goat Pinapaitan. I love the bitter bile flavor of the broth and generous portions of innards, especially tripe. Included with the meal is big scoop of rice. I like to pour some of the broth on the rice. Service was great. Clean eating area and good smells coming out of the kitchen. Take a break from shopping at the market, take a seat and enjoy!

You can even make it a pre-Costco shopping delight stop. The menu is always changing but it feels like there's always something delicious to be had. My favorite is the Rocky Road where they actually add marshmallows on top and toast it for you. The Buttah Cakes has also been a recent gem that we've tried lately and it's absolutely delicious. Since it's freshly made, it's rich, creamy, and even a little scoop goes a long way. They even make waffle cones in store if you want to spruce things up for your dessert experience. The staff are friendly and handle rushes of customers well for the size of the shop. We're lucky to have a great shop like this in central Oahu so you don't have to drive all the way to town for a great ice cream fix.

I have been coming here since they were first open but I have not gotten around to reviewing them…read moreuntil now. I was craving ice cream. Let's just say this place changed A LOT over the past years. Service: 3/5 Waited about 5 minutes to get my order taken. There was a couple in front of me and the worker was chatting with them only. I was not aware of what she was doing until I realized I was waiting for a bit so I looked for myself and saw she was making a waffle cone. Would have appreciated if she told me "Be right with you!" She at least said thank you for waiting. Service used to be a bit more efficient from what I remembered in the past. While we were inside and eating our ice cream, 2 parties came in. They were waiting for about 3 minutes and I saw one of them looking around for the worker who went to the back. All we did was just shake our heads at this moment... Food: 3/5 Holy, these scoops though too. My sister and I paid $11 total for these tiny kid looking scoops. Ice cream tasted good but tastes mediocre now. I wanted a fruity flavor so I got the honeydew flavor that tasted like a melona without the stick. My sister's peanut butter and strawberry one was pretty good. However, I remember when they used to have flavors that I could not get elsewhere but it feels pretty basic nowadays. They give bigger single scoops at Baskin Robbin's for the same price or even a couple cents more. Ambiance: 5/5 I say there's ample enough seating and it feels clean and comfortable. I like sitting near the window but I just don't like that their one and only trash can is right next to that table. Verdict: I am not sure if I will be coming back. I noticed their flavors don't change as much as they used to. I remember being excited to see what's new but after today it seems like they been keeping things the same for awhile now. Between the size of the scoops, service, and the flavors I am not sure if I want to come back.
