It was a Thursday afternoon, and we mingled with the intrepid tourists who drove to Central O'ahu. This malasadamobile is permanently parked in food truck row. You can see it from the freeway. You can see Laverne's, the malasasamobile, Mountain Shave Ice, Thong's Thai, Taste Tea, Dick's Lechon, and ... the blood bank mobile. The truck ladies had to be sweltering but they were still nice. And it's always a happy atmosphere when you're about to get a box full of deep-fried, sugar rolled doughnuts. I stuck with the classic sugar but we also got some cinnamon sugar and stuffed (dobash and haupia) to share.

Sole plate - 5 stars - for $20, the pisupo is a mix of laulau leaves, corned beef and coconut cream. Not too strong, and a good flavorful light coconut taste. The turkey tail is my favorite. Two large meaty turkey tails that are not too salty or dry like other places with a delightful shoyu taste. The Oka is fresh raw fish in a light sauce that I cannot describe. Service - very personable, friendly and thankful for buying their food. Parking - gets crowded during the night market, and they block off several rows of parking stalls for the tents and food truck diamond head of petco, in front of starbucks and jamba juice. Parking is available in front of the row of stores, from Petco to Lowes.

Unfortunately, the lechon was super salty this time. It was moist and the skin was veto crispy, but I could only eat a little at a time, due to the saltiness. Service - 5 stars - very friendly and nice, but since it's made to order, it takes about 10 minutes to be ready, so we shop at other vendors and return to pick it up. The Broth from the Beef Nilaga is so Light and Refreshing it goes perfect on White Rice. For the $18 price tag it may sound steep but i have to say they are very generous with the portions here.
