The wait might be a little long for some customers, but everything is made fresh to order and very sarap (delicious). We normally go to the Pampanga's in Pearl City but we were in Waipahu so we decided to try their Waipahu branch. Large dining area but no table service. Order ar the counter and take it back to your table. Take out and delivery available. We tried the Lechon, Gisantes, Pinakbet, and Empanada. We love the Empanada it comes with a wonderful vinegar based sauce that makes the dish delicious . Definitely a must try if you're in Waipahu. read more

We went to lunch with my friend. Everything was perfect, the cleanliness, the friendly staff, the food was amazing. We ordered Laing and sinigang bangus.. the only thing that frustrated us was when we asked for extra bowl and plate, cause we're sharing the food , they told us that we have to pay for it ! Authentic. We ordered the Beefsteak, Balatong ( Minho bean stew) and Lechon kawali. So everything was decent tasting as far as seasoning, generously portioned and priced reasonable. However, what did fall short was the kawali. If you're a Filipino place in Waipahu serving Lechon, then your tough competition with Julie's, and Thelma's a stone throws away. Pampangas needs to up their game because their kawali was kinda meh.. the fat was not to soft and the crisp wasn't as there as it should've been and it was served with the basic tomato onion "topping" that had less patis then I should've. What did hit was the "bifstek" which was well seasoned with lemon and shoyu marinate and onions. Chefs kiss. Located in Waipahu in the same shopping center as Pacific Market, this place serves up Pangpangan cuisine. Nice selection with nice photos of each dish are on the walls. The wide variety of Filipino food was surprising they also provide desserts such as halo halo! When visiting Waipahu or Oahu, this is a great option if you're seeking Filipino cuisine. Went there because their website said they were open plus of the yelp reviews. And they were closed!!! Went to other location in Waipahu and tried the lumpia empanada because most of the food was already gone. Empanada was ok but really greasy. First and last experience was ok. Because their store inside the plantation ran out of food early, I had to drive to this location to order my favorite Laing. I also added empanada just to try. The laing was great as always. The empanada was not close to the Original Ilocos Empanada. The shell was hard and it's missing some ingredients and seasoning. More than 30 minutes wait for the laing and rice it not justified. I would really recommend to have occasional staff to check on the tables make sure it's cleaned properly. Also recommend the staff to be more attentive, welcoming and courteous. I witnessed two guys came in and they were waiting there in front of the order taker without being acknowledged for at least a minute. Unacceptable not very professional. I will probably not come back to this location very soon. I prefer the turo turo style, inside the plantation. read more

Very impressed with this place! We have a go-to spot for Filipino food, but we were recommended to check out this restaurant from a friend. Located in the old Jollibee in Waipahu, Pampanga Kitchen serves up authentic and fresh comfort dishes. We ordered two mixed plates and some a la carte desserts, and we were not disappointed. Liked the fact that they give you an option to choose half and half for your starch selection, so we got to do white rice and try their pancit bihon too. We enjoyed everything we had, not overly salty at all. Lechon kawali had a perfect crisp and the meat was tender. They also give you a vinegar/tomato/onion sauce to pair with it, and lemme tell you, it was on point. Dessert was yummy as well. We had the suman and it tasted exactly as I remember it as a kid. Today July 6, 2023, I ordered food at this restaurant (Pampanga's Kitchen in Waipahu) to be exact around 6:20 p. m. I ordered Lechon kawali and garlic shrimp plate which cost $16.95 + tax. This is my dinner supposedly but food is way beyond worst that even an animal will not eat It. The shrimp is saggy and the lechon kawali which is roasted pork have been reheated several times the meat is hard like a rock and the pork-skin was like you eating a chewing gum which is supposed to be crunchy. The food is expensive, so you expect a better quality of food that they served. If ever you planning to visit this branch or other branches think twice before you order. It's so upsetting to do a 1 star review. I always try to support and give good reviews but I think it's important to share my experience. Let me start off by saying I am really not coming back here to eat, unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences I've had with my orders. This was my first at last time here. Today we ordered Lechon Kawali, Beef Bulalo, Beef Pinapaitan, Pork Dinuguan, and Longganisa with spam and eggs. We are a party of 5 and they gave us 2 forks and 2 spoons. The wait for the food was over 30 minutes which is okay because it was a lot that we ordered, but it was the amount of mess ups that sealed it for me. My dad had to stand up about 5 times to go back and forth asking for the right things. These are in order. - First thing we noticed, the tables weren't being cleaned because our table had a bunch of stains. - Second thing that happened we mentioned was the utensils. - Third, we wondered where our dinuguan was (they forgot to give it to us so it came late, and it was SO OILY) - Fourth, we opened 2 of the packed bowls to find that we got TWO beef bulalo's. (Where is the beef pinapaitan?) - Fifth, they gave us GOAT pinapaitan when we told them BEEF. I would like to mention there are about 6-7 workers working, and there's about 5 small groups of people. Wow. Ordered food at 5:42pm and got it 40 minutes later. What were they doing? Killing the pig back there? Picking fresh vegetables? Honestly they have one of the best tastes/flavor for Filipino dishes but if the food is taking longer than 30 mins, we would of ate at the pho place next door. Ugh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but man this place is lacking in Aloha. The woman taking orders is devoid of any happiness and looks at you as if you're not worth her time. Lack of a hello to the customers, lack of enthusiasm to sell the food, and definitely was giving the side eye to one customer ordering. I gave this 2 stars because I usually go to the Pearl city location and decided to place a takeout order since I was in the area. Called at least 3 times before someone picked up. Once in stated that I wanted to place a takeout order, the associate said to "give her a minute", I held on for at least 8 minutes. In the background I could hear conversations with in store customers, all I could hear was long and delayed goodbyes. Believe me when I used to work retail, if a customer was in front of me, the person in the phone can wait. But to keep a customer waiting 8-10 minutes on the phone wanting to place an order is somewhat unacceptable. I don't get treated like this at the Pearl City location. Went to the new location at Westlock Station. The beef sticks and lumpia were good, everything else I tried wasn't bad...but wasn't good either. I dunno if it's just me, but the pork belly had a really gamey taste that I just did not like. The lechon kawali was hard and chewy with no flavor, besides the dipping sauce. I'm always grateful for food and appreciate the people who make it, no matter how bad it is, but the one thing that irked me was that there's no customer service at all. Not a "hello" or anything, just blank stares when u walk in. When you try to ask a question, they ignore u and look annoyed. If you want good delicious Filipino food Pampanga is the place to go. Everything we've ever ordered here is good. They're also good with request like lower salt which most Filipino can sometimes be on the saltier side. This is my Filipino go to food and I definitely recommend this place. read more

Staff are rude and the place is a pig-stye. No one wipes the tables or floors, so there is always trash and filth on the ground and spilled drinks or food particles on every table. After our meal I respectfully told the staff that I was concerned people would get the wrong impression if they leave the tables and establishment looking unclean and uncared for, which was greeted by complete disregard and a rude exchange. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner is never present, the staff clearly don't care about the food quality, the establishment being presentable, or the concern of the customers, and the food is only so-so. Mark my words, this place is failing and will be gone in the next 1-2 years if nothing changes. I'm highly disappointed, and will not be returning unless they change their practices. read more

This review is for the one next to Hawaiian BBQ House and Pupukea Grindz in Waipahu. We love their food, we loathe the price. The wait time is about 15min even for one plate. The Dinuguan is not too grainy, well seasoned. When you order Lechon Kawali plate or mix plate, be sure to double check that you get the tomato & onions bc they often forget to include it...please pardon the nanas of this kitchen. If can, just go back and ask for it. Based on the time and the cut, your crispy pork may or may not be soft and tender. Ooh, but when you get it at its best, it really is "chef's kiss"! Finally, if you are wanting some of their Pinakbet, it's very limited so be prepared to have a backup plan. Your best best is to go during the beginning of regular lunch hrs bc also if you go too early, they might not have all items ready to serve. We came today at about 3:30 pm to try your food and I was not satisfied of what we ordered. I ordered the beef kare-kare and it was over cooked or it was over re heated. The sauce was not good I know it was not fresh it was reheated. I could tell when it freshly made then from re heating the food. The sauce so over cooked that it tasted like paste it didn't have that kare-kare taste anymore. Next was the squid guisado, The squid not good also. The cook did not took away the plastic that it needed to be taken off before it was cooked. Your menu is too pricey amd expensive you need to tell the cook to watch how they cook your food. I am very disappointed of what i ordered bad cook, bad taste of food. I wasted over $60.00 to buy your junk food. No more I will go their and order your food. Please tell your cook to do a better job. Also your cashier is so slow that she take so long to do her job. It was a takeout, the cashier did not put any utensils in our order so lucky thing that we took our order home, what if we ate the food to a park then we had to use our hands to eat. I went try the other Pampanga restaurant and it was good. But the one in Waipahu was the worst filipino food I've ever went in my entire life. But It could only be the cook that ruin the taste of the food so please let you cook do a better job.
