BEST! PANCAKES! EVER! So buttery it melts in your mouth. I literally waited an hour outside just to eat this amazing plate! I was looking forward to the longanisa, but I didn't enjoy the deep fried texture. Eggs over hard were cooked perfectly to my taste. My mom would say that Juliez is her dining room since she wasn't cooking that day. Julie'z is a paborite In Kapolei. During the holidays, you have to call days in advance because they run out of pancit!! Couple weeks ago, on a Saturday evening, I called to order a plate of pancit and pork guisantes, 5:30 pm, but they were sold out. That's how beloved Juliez is to the Kapolei community. And the nice thing, they open up early for breakfast, at 7 am. When we have family coming in first thing in the morning, we having breakfast at Juliez not the other local restaurant by the police station. What's not to love? One of our other favorites is shrimp sarciado. It's like a shrimp omelette with whole shrimp, head and shell on, tomatoes, onions, garlic and eggs. Without the shrimp shell on, this dish would not be the same as all the juices sit in the shell. Yup, I've seen locals and tourists visit Juliez for breakfast and order the pancakes. It's nice to see when the tourists try something different and go into beast mode. As far as the interior, not fancy at all but that's ok. Individuals and families enjoy having a meal here. Dishes can be ordered family style or plate lunch style with two or three choice. And everything is reasonably priced. Staff there, although they may not know our names but they know our faces. All are very pleasant. Two things that I wish they had on the menu, tortang talong (eggplant omelette) and a family pack. Well I guess if someone on this page asked me if I tried it I guess I had to make a trek out to Kapolei at Julie's Filipino Restaurant and see what the hype is all about I had to order the Short Stack ($11.50) and the Lechilog which is Lechon served with Pork Abobo Fried Rice Omelet ($15.50). And after the smoke settled I have to say these Pancakes are the real deal. By the looks of it you can say they look like any other Pancakes but after one bite it was truly magical. The Pancakes were super light and fluffy and couldn't stop eating it. I'm glad it came out before my Lechilog so I could dig into it right away. Pro tip, don't let these Pancakes just sit idle on your plate it has to be eaten right away just like eating a Malasada. The only other Pancake that I had that was better than this was at the Four Season's in Wailea Maui. To be frankly honest even if you're not a big fan of Filipino Food I would just come here for the Pancakes As for the Lechilog it was ok. Nothing that would make me want to order it again.The draw here to me is the Pancakes and I would once again make that trek out to Kapolei to get my Pancake Craving. We have been customers of Julie'z since they opened, but sadly, we moved away 5 years ago. Well, we came back for a vacation and we had to go to Julie'z for breakfast! In 5 years, nothing has changed! The prices are still very reasonable, and we ordered the SUPER LECHILOG and SARISARI, and they were both just a we remembered, excellent! I hear it can get a bit busy on the weekends, so thankfully it wasn't. When ordering take out you can just head towards the register and someone will be there to assist. There is a paper copy of the take out menu or you can look through the one for the restaurant. Inside is your typical "Asian" sit down restaurant with restaurant supplies out for display and a little choice buffet located at the front. They do have house-made Filipino desserts too. There was a few left when I was there, bibinka (similar to butter mochi) and also ube flavor. Placed 2 side orders of Lumpia Shanghai for a small holiday party and it was a hit. It comes with 12 cut pieces ea. and sweet and sour dipping sauce too. For a small party with friends, it was a hit. You can't have a Filipino themed party without lumpia. I also ordered the bibingka and suman (sp?) to go. The pancakes were fluffy and soft. I enjoyed the pancakes. It came with a large container of margarine or butter. 3/5 stars. Basic no frills syrup was in a squeeze bottle on the table. 2/5 stars. No whipped cream available here. The side of bacon was cooked in ? I could taste something other than bacon in the oil. Otherwise, it was crispy and oily. 2.5/5 stars My hubby's Lechon Kawali was a bit on the tough side. The pork skin was very chewy and hard. The Gisantes was okay. 3/5 stars Service was great here. We been knew this place was good, so when we no Visit long time, it HITS! I love the Lechon Kawalii, adobo fried rice omelette, and their pancakes. They are directly across of Koa pancake House, but if you're looking for a good breakfast, I would rather go here to Julie'z. Came here for the first time. We ordered the adobo fried rice w/ Lechon Kawali, dinaguan and pinakbit, Lechon Kawali and Pansit, and a side order of 1 pancake. Everything tasted pretty good. The dinaguan wasn't as good as it looked. The Adobo rice was pretty flavorful with the Lechon. The pansit noodles were ok as well. The pancake was very flavorful and had a nice crust. Like with everything else in USA, the prices went up and quality went way down. It's a real shame. We've been ordering from Juliez for several years and it used to be good food. Now not so much. The quality really went down and the portion sizes went down and the prices skyrocketed way up. It's evident everywhere and so not just unique to Juliez but this was really disappointing. We really wanted to keep supporting local businesses, even continued to order even as we saw the quality drop and drop hoping it was just a temporary thing but it wasn't. It was a good run with them but I think we'll stop ordering from here now. The food just isn't the same, seems like a lot of short cuts with ingredients, portions are way small for the ridiculous prices thy inflated it to. Just moved back home, so I had to come back to Julie'Z. I got the lechon kawali, and dad got the pinakbet and mongo beans. For the lechon, make sure you dip it in the sauce! It's so delicious. Service. I was there on June 1, 2026 around almost 8pm. I politely asked if I could order 2 Items: Takeout Dinuguan and Shrimp Sarciado. The cashier immediately gave me an attitude. It was obvious that she wanted to go home already because they were almost closing. I said "only if can." with a slight increase in tone because she could refuse and I had no problem with it. It didn't end there. Just as the pick up order was being given to the person next to me and placed in front of me, the cashier said "this is not yours okay?" as if I didn't know that I had just ordered. Service hit and miss, and got progressively worse and more lazy each time we went. The last time, we arrived an hour before closing and were told they couldn't serve pancit, rice cake, or halo halo because "you got here too late... next time, come here earlier." We got up and left. A couple of responses to that remark: 1. If you run a restaurant and adopt the highly unorthodox practice of stopping serving an hour before closing, make it known in advance so potential customers don't waste their time; and 2. My friend Ben just moved back from the Philippines about six months ago, and we have been making weekend trips to Waipahu to eat Filipino food. My favorite dish is Lechon Kawali (crispy roast pork with sliced onions and tomatoes). It's not the healthiest dish so I usually get a mixed plate with pinak bet (stewed vegetables). On a certain Sunday afternoon, instead of going to Waipahu, the car ended up in Kapolei because the car doesn't drive itself and relying on Ben's GPS was a little suspect. Nah, we wanted to try Julie'z because Ben had a bad experience at Elena!'s and we had eaten four times in a row at Thelma's, so he found Julie'z on Yelp so we said "why not". "Why not" turned out to be a disaster. On that certain Sunday, the restaurant was packed, and after waiting 20 minutes to be seated, Julie'z had run out of lechon kawali, and hell if I was gonna just make a meal out of pinak bet alone. I can't even remember what I ate. The most memorable thing about the restaurant was the converted Pepsi cooler being used to store toilet paper in the Men's room. I guess I would go back to Julie'z, but I have become accustomed to the taste of lechon kawali at Thelma's so we may go back to Julie'z in a couple months. read more
