If you want to get covid-19 come here. Ridiculously small room for what they have going on. People just ordering food for take out with no separation. I went here with my wife and daughter tonight for the first time. Upon entering the hostess was very friendly/attentive and we were quickly seated. She returned to take our drink order fairly quickly and we were free to hit the buffet. My family opted for the weighing option and I did the all you can eat option. The only negative was they my wife served my daughter and herself before any meat was brought to our table. Only after my wife inquired, while weighing her food, did they send someone over to offer with any meat. However, once they started serving me they did not stop and the variety, quality, flavor and heat of the meat served was excellent! I ate a lot of meat but believe the weighed option is the better deal, though likely not by much. One other thing that I noticed and find very important is that the bathroom was kept very clean! To me that is a sign of quality management and makes the experience even more enjoyable. There is nothing worse than eating and then going into a filthy awful smelling bathroom, but not the case here! Alright. I love this spot for the meat. I love my meat and this place does it for me. Always! I can't complain. I love there "salad" bar too, the variation of ingredients and how they're seasoned gives such a unique taste. They're not big on music which I wish they were, I also find out they're byob recently never knew that otherwise I'd sleep here. I usually love this place but what happened with the food? So one day I went and I don't see the people who usually works there (the waitress with the blonde dyed hair). They provided a menu and explains the whole buffet process which never was the case... Even asking if we want dessert. On the sirloin that I always eat, the food had like a sweet bbq taste which NEVER is the case. The smokey flavor from the fire was gone and it tasted weird. The meat itself was gamey and.. it just wasnt the same. Even the salad bar, I love eating the cabbage salad but it missed that taste, barely cooked, and bland. It just tasted different. I tried this place last week on a Sunday. I got the all you can eat special for $22.95, but I now know the best option is to buy the food by the pound, it's 7.95/LB. This is one of my favorite restaurants! My boyfriend and I came here over the long weekend after having not been for almost a year. Their covid protocol is good we felt safe. I'm not giving more stars because the whole reason you come to pampas is the outstanding meat. We only got one cut of meat that was cooked medium rare everything else was really over cooked. The meat was good if you ate it immediately, however if it sat there and cooled off it became a hard grey brick. The salad bar I felt didn't have that many salad type options and the chicken they had was also over cooked in the silver warming dish. It made me very sad but everything was very well seasoned and I will be back I Just hope they do better with cooking the meat since this was not an issues before. read more

People were friendly although service lacked. We sat and waited to order dessert which never happened as well as another soda. Meats were not tender and only came to the table mb 5 times. One small slice each time for 40.00 each. One time was dry chicken and one time was a small sausage. Salad bar was ok. Customers carrying plates of food everywhere and at the register. Grilled pineapple was the best part. Maybe we are just spoiled from Hyannis Brazilian restaurant. Also after parking we had to walk past 2 rat traps alongside the building. Pampas is excellent every time I've ever been. The 'salad bar', for lack of a better term, always has a wide variety of fresh options. I recommend the plantains and yellow rice. One thing that might confuse you is the ordering system - you can pay by weight, or order all you can eat. Dessert is not included in that price, but can be ordered after the meal. I have never once been unsatisfied by one large plate by weight, for reference. I don't think AYCE is really cost effective unless you're getting solely meat and it's your only meal of three day. There are almost always multiple options for reach meat, so make sure to ask for the meat to your preferred done-ness, otherwise you'll get whatever they grab first. read more

The picanha and beef short rib are my top recommendations here - be sure to get some of the vinaigrette (the diced bell peppers & onions) for an authentic plate. I continue to drive 45 minutes from home to eat at this restaurant. Meat lovers, rejoice! Pampas is a no-frills, very reasonable place to get a taste of Brazilian food. These folks know their way around meats. Dinner was all you can eat for $11.99 or could be bought for $7.99 a pound. Guess which way I went? Beef, pork (ribs, shoulder and sausage) and chicken are roasted before your eyes and served up at the counter on long skewers by a very friendly grill master. Across the room is a long buffet with salads, beans, vegetables and a few more meat dishes. A bowl of collard greens tossed in a garlicky vinaigrette was fantastic. Other highlights were the black beans and the cabbage slaw. The fried Yuca (or Mandioca) and the Feijao (a bean and pork dish) were very good, but need to be hot from the kitchen to really sing. This place is no-nonsense and, on the evening I was there, had a small crowd of people who were mostly speaking Portuguese. There are TVs playing music videos and sports. Real down-home. I went with a group of people and the woman overseeing the dining room very willingly put some tables together for us. It's all self-serve, including drinks and desserts. The night we were there they only had coconut flan for dessert, which one person tried and really enjoyed, but we had other dessert plans, so I'll have to try that another time. If you want something different, with lots of variety and lots of MEAT (!), try this place. They're not winning any decor awards, but it's a great tasting, well-priced meal and the staff were quite friendly. And it's better than the Churrascaria we have in Hartford which costs more than twice as much! read more

Overall, the food is tasty and plentiful, though I would like to see a little more variety in the cuts of meat they have during lunch. This place is awesome. It is a no frills casual sort of place where you can stuff your face with tons of meat. The staff is super friendly. They treated us like we were family they had not seen in years. You can do all you can eat (dinner is $15 and lunch is $12) or pay per pound which I think was $8. Go for the all you can eat. It is worth it. They had about 10 or 12 different types of meat ranging from pork and beef ribs to sausages to prime rib to roast beef and the list went on and on. You go up to the meat counter and the guy cuts you anything you want and as much as you want. At one point my 3 year old daughter wanted another sausage. I told the man it was for my daughter and he proceeded to cut it up for her. That was a very nice touch. There is a buffet table with salads and all sorts of other things like beans and pasta and potato salad, salsas, french fries, and even lasagna. The beans and salads were great. First of all BYOB! How is this a negative in anyone's review? Second they have a all -you-can-eat or pay by the weight of your plate option that is great when you go with someone who is not a pig like me. Thirdly the food is great! I'm not sure what it is about Brazilian food but almost every one I've tried, I've liked. Then people I know judge it way to harshly depending on how closely it resembles their moms cooking. This place kills it in all my Brazilian steak house favorites, incredible potato salad, those little cheese bread thingys, awesome rice and beans, and a great meat selections, as well as some great things to try on the buffet. Like all buffets I'm sure there are times where the food is better then others every time I've gone it been really good, and there was a table of four uniformed Worcester cops eating last time I was there, and that's a dead giveaway that a place is good. This is the type of place that I love to support. The people working there were just so welcoming. They gave us a tour of the buffet like they were giving us a guided tour of rooms in their house (on the left you have....on the right you have...this is the meat section...this is the salad section). The food overall was closer to a 3.5 but I see a lot of potential in this place. They just need to get more business to have a higher turn over of the buffet foods. The chicken lasagna, veggie sides, plantains, and other buffet dishes were all good but they were served more warm than hot and with some more business, I imagine the dishes would be served hotter. The meats were good (3-3.5 stars); the standout meat dish for me was the roast beef (4.5 stars). You could probably get a little better at a fancy Brazilian steakhouse but the meat quality to price ratio was very good at Pampas Churrascaria. When I'm in Worcester for work I eat here every day, lunch or dinner. No more exotic edibles like hearts and livers which they had years ago, but no sweat. It's still the best value I've ever seen, anywhere. The AYCE rodizio offerings I've had on recent visits and can remember include: Beef - whole roasted tenderloin, bacon wrapped t-loin, ribs, and a steak and garlic shish kabob. Chicken - wrapped in bacon, legs, and sausage. Pork - sausage and ribs. Pineapple seasoned with sugar and cinnamon and roasted at a low temperature (leaving its digestive enzyme bromelain, which is destroyed by high heat, intact) is the perfect ending to the meal. The salad bar also had meats, highlights were the brisket and a bean gumbo style dish with beef. Plus a full selection of salad greens and toppings, antipasti things, potatoes, rice, etc. If this were in my town I'd probably be dead from a stroke by now. It's $23.99 for all you can eat dinner but when I was leaving I noticed you can get it by weight and still sit down and enjoy your meal. They had the most amazing array of meats. My favorite was the chicken sausage, fall off the bone drumsticks, and garlic steak was amazing! My fiance loved the lamb and the beef hunk on the stick. I've been here twice. The first time was great. The second time, a rodízio dinner (where chefs being skewers of meat to your table), which I'll be reviewing, was amazing. I'm not exaggerating when I say that on a particular Saturday night, about a month or so ago, I received the best service I've ever experienced at any restaurant -- anywhere. It was a quiet night at Pampas, and the chef for the evening was a local gentleman named Chris who treated my date and me like we were his own family. The food that Chris cooked was incredible. He was also extraordinarily kind and chatty (not the annoying kind of chatty!), and he was one of those rare individuals who -- you could tell -- absolutely loved his job. He talked about his relationship with the owners and why he cooks for them at Pampas, and he spoke with so much passion, all of which was evident in the decadent slabs of Brazilian spiced beef, chicken, sausage, and cinnamon-dusted pineapple slices (I'd go back just for those) he presented graciously before us. And, wow, he made sure we didn't leave hungry. If we ordered one thing, he'd bring over two or three! The entire experience was absolutely worth writing home about. He even sat down with a table of women to just chat with them, and they all seemed to love him. Honestly, I cannot think of anything negative to say about him, his positive attitude, and his fantastic food. Just keep in mind that the rodízio dinner is a bit pricey, costing about $60 for two (though that's how most Brazilian barbecue restaurants go, anyway). For a nice date, though, it's totally worth it. If you're looking to save some money, however, Pampas offers a "by-the-pound" option which is amazing value (I want to say the option is about $8 or $9 a pound). I've seen some mixed reviews for Pampas here, but I guarantee that if you visit while Chris is working the spit, you'll leave quite pleased -- and quite full. MYYYYY Best Friend used to live in MA...now she lives up the street from me, so EVERY TIME we go visit the fambam in Mass we HAVE to go to PAMPAS! We always pay for our food by the weight and sit down and eat. You can smell the smoke from the fire pit from OUTSIDE...its phenomenal. They also have platanos, rice, salad, potatoes, I think some kind of noodles, veggies etc., all on the hot bar. I get some salad then I load up on some fire roasted deliciousness. I don't remember if they have a decent bar, but I know you can get booze. They have parking at the side of the building but if you don't know where you're going, you'll miss it. The wait staff kind of takes a long time to come over to you...like a really long time, but the food is crack so it still gets 5 stars. Homie that works by the fire pit went down the LIST of meat that he had for us one day. He straight Bubba-Gumped it. "The Grilled Meat Is to Die for!!!" I'm a regular 'take-out' visitor at Pampas. The glorious smell of the killer grilled meat arrests you everytime you drive by shrewsbury street. I usually go there for just the assorted meats though - beef, chicken, steak, bacon etc. The buffet is okay for the price. Someone mentioned the meat is 'over-cooked', honestly that has happened maybe twice of all the times I've been there....and also keep in mind what will be considered 'over-cooked' to the american is simply how Brazilians (and more than half the world) cook their meat - well done. Love/hate relationship with Pampas. The beef rib is amazing. Salad bar has some unique items that I have no idea what their names are, but I always get: greens tossed in a oil dressing, carrot salad topped with fried potato sticks. I tried to order ~$150 worth of food and informed them I had a budget. Gave them a list of what I wanted, including beef ribs, and didn't hear any complaints. When we picked up the order, it was closer to $300 and no beef ribs. (They substituted sirloin instead, which I think is usually drier and less flavorful than the beef ribs.). I never realized what an awesomely delicious and cheap place this is until I left Worcester. My friend who is Brazilian laughs when I tell her I need to find another Pampas Churrascaria somewhere else for the same price. Only once have I done the unlimited buffet, and that was an amazing day to remember: brought my own beer, sat with friends, and ate/talked for hours. I had meat sweats probably when I left. But on a normal day, I grab a plate of rice + beans/pork + sausage + top sirloin + pork shoulder = $6-7. Went there with my husband and a friend after a Worcester Sharks game. There were several types of meat-on-a-stick, which was nice because it would have sucked to go there and had bad variety. We were especially big fans of the prime rib and the bacon-wrapped chicken (picked those things for seconds). I also really liked the grilled pineapple. On a stick, of course. We sat at a table right next to the salad bar, which also had some pretty nice meat and little fried cheese ball thingies, as well as stuffed grape leaves and some grilled vegetables. And there were some other salad-y things, but seriously, does anyone really go to a churrascaria for the salad bar? No. The downside to our seats were that they were in a location relative to the front door that made them very drafty. On a regular day, even one in late January, this might be OK, but the night we were there is was about fifty below so sometimes the draft was a little unpleasant. Meh is right. For this place you can do an all you can eat or by the pound. The esthetics are beyond poor. It looks like a prison cafeteria inside. The walls are stained. The tables were wobbly, old brown tops. The legs on the table were filthy. It was hard to eat. The meat was limited and the quality highly questionable. Only a small selection was available but the biggest issue was the lack of technique in how it was cut. Sirloin was the only beef available. It had a major tendon running through the center of it and was brutally overcooked. The sausage was good but it was sausage. The pork was very good tasty but for the piece I got, over half of it was inedible and the server, hacked at this meat like a caveman when he served it to me. The servers really wanted to provide good service but it was clear they had virtually no experience or training. The head chef was overly attentive to the table next to us to the point where it was uncomfortable to watch. The salad bar was terrible. There were virtually no fresh ingredients.
