I am SO disappointed in this business. I walked in yesterday with my puppy for her first grooming session to two employees with no mask on or near them. (On the door is a large poster that says "mask mandatory) I waited to see if they would put one on, but they didn't. One woman approached me and asked what my dogs name. I responded and then asked them if they wore masks. She literally laughed at me and said "No not usually." I turned around and said "I'll be taking my business elsewhere." I have a 12 yr old chihuahua/terrier mix that is very aggressive when it comes to being groomed. I normally have him sedated groomed at a tune of $220 a pop. I reached out on Facebook asking for references of someone that has experience with aggressive dogs and Jewel from Pampered Paws contacted me. I gave her all the details of how awful my dog is and she was still willing to give him a whirl. Today was the day! I'm excited to say, she got the job done! I can't believe it because it's been a very long time since he had a normal haircut without meds or complete sedation. If your dog is a zoned out zombie and understands and obeys human words and rules, by all means, knock yourself out. If you have an actual dog, don't waste your time going to Pampered Paws. All dogs are different. Some sit pleasantly, some don't. Some don't mind having their toenails clipped, some do. If you call yourself a professional, you should be prepared for all types and personalities of dogs. You should know how to handle every situation. You should know that your business is based upon professionalism and customer service. Blaming the customer or the dog is bullshit. If you make a dog bleed, accept responsibility. I haven't seen cat reviews, so here I am! They do cats!! And they did such a wonderful job with my baby MoMo, he's a longhair Persian. We just needed a good brush out and a belly shave, they were super sweet, very fast and did a knockout job! I'm more than disappointed. I've been looking for a good groomer in OC who had experience cutting a Chinese Crested, a mostly hairless breed. I called Pampered Paws to explicitly confirm the groomer had worked on one before, & I was told yes. I understand they aren't very common, but if you don't know the standard, please don't say you do, or for heaven's sake, look it up on the internet!! When I took my dog in for her appointment, I reiterated AGAIN to not cut ANY hair on her head, tail & paws, the benchmark for this breed. When I came to pick her up, the groomer had cut the hair off her feet, making it look like 4 little stumps. I'm STILL waiting for it to fully grow back! If the groomer had never worked on one before, tell me so I can find someone who has. If she can't follow verbal instructions, write it down. From other reviews it appears there's a quality issue. I won't be back. They can be the nicest people in the world, but if they're not forthcoming about their experience with a particular breed, it means nothing. read more

Donna did a awesome job on our golden retriever. We live in Beaverton so it's a little trek for us but well worth it. Our girl is so soft and smells great. Some places have shampoo that's a little overpowering with the perfume but we found it to be Just enough to know she's clean and no longer a stinky pup. Thank you so much. read more

We are so happy with the service received at Pampered Paws and we wish we had started bringing our dogs here sooner. We have a Bernedoodle and a Golden Retriever and they did a fantastic job on both dogs. Our Retriever is fairly easy to groom but our Berner has coarse curly hair and Pampered Paws did the best job combing her out and she came home fluffy and well groomed. My dog got groomed here and got kennel cough. She was up to date with her vaccines and boosters and now she's miserable coughing all day, unable to bark and barely eating. Cleaning policies obviously need to be changed and I would never risk bringing an older dog or puppy here. read more

This is the type of shop that you walk into and walk immediately out. It looks fine from the outside, but once in, it is dirty, there was no visible clean working area, paperwork, hairy blankets, and Tool were everywhere. I arrived for my 10 o'clock appointment and they had me put my dog in a kennel which was extremely dirty and rusty. There were many other dogs in the shop also in kennels. They were very overbooked. They said that she would be in the kennel for at least an hour before her appointment even though we arrived on time. The two women working there were very rude and told me it would take four hours and for half of that time she would be in a kennel. They offered no greeting, and upon my arrival they were trying to figure out where a "mystery dog" came from. They had a dog and didn't know whose it was?! Needless to say, got my dog out of there ASAP. Do not traumatize your pets by taking there here! read more

I took my sheepadoodle, Tilly, to get groomed at Pampered Paws for the second time (I wasn't impressed the first time but gave her the benefit of the doubt). My daughter picked Tilly up after 4 hours and her haircut looked terrible. She looked as if no time was spent on her at all. I asked for a very simple groom... shave her body close and just trim her head to look cute. Her head was left really choppy (short in some areas and very long in others - see pictures). Her muzzle was left long and dirty. Her feet were also left long unlike her legs that were shaved close. Her nails were trimmed but just the very tiny tip of the nail... and worst of all, her pad on her foot was cut and bleeding (see pictures). I called Pampered Paws to express my disappointment. Donna was a little stand-offish and had excuses for everything. She said I could bring Tilly back and she would fix her. I explained to her that we are headed out of town and I didn't have time to bring her back. I said no thanks and hung up. Within a few minutes, Donna called me back and said I was right that she didn't spend much time with her because she wasn't feeling well and just wanted to get her done but if I bring her back, she would fix her. I again explained all the concerns I had with the cut which she still had excuses for including the bloody pad that she said she accidentally nipped the edge of. She said I could bring her back after our vacation and she would trim her up. But honestly, when your dog comes home with a bleeding pad, the last thing you want to do is put her in that situation again. I once again told Donna no thanks, I would find another groomer. Pampered Paws is the BEST place for grooming! Our Rhodesian Ridgebacks' nails are dark, thick and heavy. They grow so quickly, that we have to stay on top of them or their toes will go crooked too. Donna does a great job getting our girls clean even though they don't really like water. They actually like their "Spa Days" at PPG. This place is magic. Me and my wife went to take our 4 month old Yorkie poo to get a trim. We requested many times we just wanted trimmed. The lady pinned our dog down by her throat while she gave our dog a buzz cut. I have been taking my dog there since February, thought all was Ok. Then choppy hair cuts; one time asked for 1/2 inch only off her lengh they cut her very very short saying she had some knots in her legs, not true as I had combed her the night before and she had no knots! Got her home she was scratching at her nose area, looked at her face and they had cut her causing a size dime scab! I gave them the benefit of the doubt, took my dog again, told them to be careful as they cut her before and what did she get but another choppy hair cut! I have had my dog groomed at various places for about 8 years. Some were better than others but always ok. Yesterday I had an appointment with Pampered Paws for my dog. Eek! Me thinks not again. The worst of it was they shaved her delicate pink tummy so short it has her stomach red and raw. Dog in definite distress over it. They also caused puffiness and redness around eyes where it was suppose to be trimmed not to the skin, so very close to the eyes it could have been much worse I guess. Saw blood on her leg hair and upon investigating it appears that when cutting toe nails, on two different paws nails were bleeding.The general grooming trim/ cut looks like someone blind was trying to cut the hair. Just a really bad cut I am sitting here watching my dog licking herself constantly trying to get relief from the "shave of shame on you" and was compelled to write this review. I have been going to pampered paws since they opened. I had a big girl named Ronnie and I would drop in to get her nails clipped. She bled about every other time. However, she had a few black toe nails that you weren't able to see the quick, so hey, it happens. Recently I got a new pup. I started taking her after she had her 2nd set of shots. (She's 5 mos old now). Two weeks ago to this day, I brought Frankie in to get them clipped and dremmeled again.. They were still pretty long when we came home. They also were alittle shredded, but no huge deal, I filed them a little so she wouldn't snag on something and get hurt. But I was alittle irritated they were too long. Today, I bring her in and was going to drop her off for an hour. The gal pretty much insisted I stay and that she could do it right then. I explained about the visit two weeks ago, she looked at Frankie's nails and said they weren't too bad. So she dremmeled them. I asked why not clipped and dremmeled? She replied, "They weren't long enough to clip". I decided right then I wasn't coming back. I brought my pup home and then noticed she had bruising on her belly from where they "loop" the dog into the restraint under the belly and one around the neck from the suspended bar above the table. I called and told them and their response was "The dog isn't suppose to lean into the harness.". Hmm. All I ask is that you please be aware of this if you go there for grooming. Also watch your little dogs for signs of coughing after a grooming from the loop around it's around the neck. One of the people I talked to today said they're dog poodle was coughing alot and the vet automatically asked if she had been to the groomers. It's caused from a bruised larynex. So my girlfriend took my dog in before Christmas to get a bath and toe nails cut we were quoted $50 for both services to be done she went back to pick my dog up after they called and said he was done. She got there and the bill was $80 way more than was told it would be then they drought the dog out and he was limping at that point she asked what happened and the girl in back corner (I think she said her name is Bethany) said he fought her with doing his toe nails so she paid and left. She got him home and he was still limping so we started to see what the problem was. She had cut his nails so far back he was bleeding on three of his feet and when I say bleeding I mean bleeding it was bad she had put a bunch of stuff all over the five nails that were bleeding and to top it off I am sure he was not washed and they just sprayed some god awful perfume on my dog. Long story short DO NOT GO HERE I WAS CHARGED $80 FOR HER TO HURT MY DOG AND GOT A DIRTY DOG THAT SMELT WORSE THAN WHEN I BROUGHT HIM IN. read more
