I have to say I do like their food. BUT, you never know when they will or will not be open!!!! The last 3 or 4 times I tried, they didn't answer. I check the menu for hours and days of the week they are open. But that doesn't seem to matter. For instance, a Saturday night at 6pm?! I have stopped calling because it has become not worth the frustration. Bummer, their food is really pretty good. Just not reliable. (also, if you are on a tight schedule, go pick up the food. You may be told delivery is 35 minutes but It could be over an hour. I have had that happen several times) If you get thru and able to place your order, and its ok to wait for the delivery...it's great when it gets there! read more

This place will forever have my heart when it comes to Thai food. The people there are kick-ass, extremely kind, and know what they're doing in the kitchen. I am in love with a lot of their dishes, but their orange chicken has a batter that resembles crispy funnel cake. And they always includes extra sweet n sour sauce. Nuff said, comfort food. There are folks who whine about how it takes so long to receive their food, the facility isn't fancy, and the service sucked. It takes so long around the actual hours of lunch/dinner because everybody within the 1-4 miles of qualifying delivery distance is ordering from them!!! Which also explains them being understaffed at the restaurant. The restaurant itself isn't fancy because they invest their money elsewhere; in their ingredients. Plus the food is extremely cheap. If you're really concerned about how attractive a restaurant looks, perhaps you should stop ruining their well-deserved rep and go elsewhere. This little hole in the wall in Tajuna, where I was not expecting any great Asian places to be at... was great! This place doesn't serve more than maybe 10 tables but they do free delivery which is where they get their other half of the business. We ordered the Tom Yum Kai because nothing can beat this on a rainy day. We got it medium mild and the server reminded us that they use Thai chili, which are small so if you eat one.. good luck to you! Of course I ate one but it didn't take the long to cool down. The soup was one of the better ones I've had. The soup was actually spicy which I LOVE! We ordered the panang beef. The BF loves this dish so I let him order it every time. I thought it was very flavorful. The curry was cream and perfect with the rice. We wanted to try something new with the sweet and chili fish filet. LOVED it!! It's a small place. Best to find parking around the block, near the residential area. Prices are great. Most dishes are below $10. The amount of food is ok. It won't get you very full. But, I think it's enough to get you at a level where it's still comfortable to walk/run around. If you are with other people, order an entree for each person and get a dish that you can all share. When I went, food took forever to come out. There weren't even that many people. But, the workers are very nice. Ordered food to go. Assholes were careless or some shit. I LOVE coming to this little gem of a mom-and-pop Thai spot!! The food is sooooo tasty and well prepared! What I love most is that the portions are quite nice, but inexpensive enough to be able to share 5-6 plates between two people; so you can taste a lot of items in one meal! The staff is incredibly kind and helpful as well with recommendations. The Pa'nang curry is my fav; it's sweet, creamy, and peanutty!! I love this sauce over the rice, but could totally just eat it on its own as a soup even!! I've only had pleasant experiences with this restaurant and I feel it's time I write a little something for the great service I received. I always order delivery and I was amazed at the low prices compared with other Thai restaurants I have ordered from. My usual order of chicken satay, yellow curry, garden salad, white rice and Thai tea only comes out to around $17.00. And its a decent amount of food that easily feeds two. The food is pretty tasty and I loved the satay. I think its a great deal. Recently though, I called the restaurant just around ten (when they close) thinking it was much earlier. The man I spoke to told me they were closed and I apologized, embarrassed but he insisted on taking my order anyway! I was surprised at some of the low ratings based on poor dine-in experiences but I've only ever ordered delivery so I have no complaints. They're nice people and the food is good. read more

Their Thai iced tea was pretty good - I'd stop by for one of those on a hot day. They said it would be 35 minutes for a delivery, but it ended up being over an hour before our food arrived. When was the last time you saw Thai Iced Tea in this city for $1.25??!!? Pan Tang is amazing quality right here in Sunland-Tujunga, that's what the fourth star is for CONVENIENCE and VALUE!. Actually, when I think about our little town there are some really good restaurants in this tiny tucked away part of LA. Now, It's not on the same caliber as the places in Thai town but for a quick drive from home. It's superb. They have great lunch specials with a delicious and light soup. I really enjoy the curries they have here. It's right across from the Tujunga YMCA. It's owned by a family that is so gracious and accommodating and they have been around for years, for good reason! Even though they are called Thai BBQ ribs, its cooked Chinese style because the owners I believe are Chinese. There Chinese menu is pretty solid. Pros: 1. Cheap. Very affordable dishes. A bit on smaller side but allows for better sampling. 2. Flavors. Try the Pad Thai and any of their appetizer salad mixes utilizing freshly cut veggies, married with tantalizing spices. 3. Fast. Cons: 1. Not a fancy place to take a date. Its cool, I'll take this con for good food any day. 2. The Tom Yum soup equivalent isn't that great. 3. Parking is weird with that high ass curb. This was my second time here. The first time was a couple years ago and i ordered pad Thai and something else with my sister. From what I remember, the pad Thai was a bit dry. Yet, that was at least two years ago. Tonight I ordered spicy noodles- medium- combo meat. I definitely got my money's worth! A little oily and could be a little more flavorful but overall I enjoyed it! I ordered it medium spicy but it came mild. Could be preference. I came here one night to pick up take-out. I ordered a shrimp tom-yum soup and prik King! This place is very generous with their shrimp! Usually, most restaurants will only give 2-3 shrimp per soup but not here. There were so many large shrimp in my soup, I was impressed. Plus it was only $6 which I've been to places that will charge $11 and be stingy with the meat or fish you ask for. The prik King was also very good and spicy! I love my Thai food spicy. New remodel. Same time management problems. It's been almost two years since I've ordered pan Tang despite loving the food. Many times I have been told the food would be ready in thirty minutes only to show up and wait in my car for an additional 30 minutes... Upsetting. I have even ordered 90 minutes prior to me needing the food (for a small birthday party) and asking them to call me AFTER the food was ready to avoid waiting and still ended up having to wait in the restaurant for over 30 minutes while they told me every 5 minutes how "almost done" the food was. If you dine in, expect to be there awhile. The last time we ate there, the kitchen staff started yelling at each over a mix up which made it really awkward to eat our dinner. Pan Tang is most definitely the best Thai restaurant in the Sunland, Tujunga, La Crescenta, And La Canada area. Been coming here and ordering take out for over 10 years now. Food here is very delicious and prices for dishes very very reasonable. Our favorite item on their menu has to be the beef salad. Good amount of meat with fresh lettuce tomatoes Thai peppers and a limey dressing. I've also had most of there soups and dishes. They also serve a few classic Chinese food fishes like beef broccoli and orange chicken. If you're in the area and don't know what you want to eat you won't go wrong picking this joint. Might not look like the Taj Mahal outside or like to swank inside, the good and service are grade A. They also deliver but expect to wait a hour cause they are do backed up with orders, worth the wait. read more
