We go for lunch specials and always leave satisfied. We're always greeted with a friendly welcome. Service is fast and efficient. I always order something with veggies in it and they're always fresh and delicious. Hot and sour soup is good and so is their wonton soup. String beans with white garlic sauce are my go to side. Yummy! Lunch special comes with soup, rice and egg roll. I like the option to swap white rice for brown rice ($2 more). Egg rolls have an after taste, maybe cinnamon (not my favorite) but so far all the entrees have been great. Service is excellent. It's never crowded when we go and I have no idea why. Place was clean and waitress was very tentative and welcoming but food was horrible Ribs seemed to be pre-cooked days before and were dropped into a deep fryer until dark in color even the bones under the meat were supper dark the bbq sauce was dark and not red and sadly the meat was dry like jerky the chicken egg foo young the chicken tasted like it was also pre-cooked old sitting in a refrigerator for days uncovered before uses as it had tat muskie refrigerator taste but the egg patty and veggies were good we also ordered there special the crispy golden delicious duck sadly not it looked like it was also pre cooked and dropped in a deep fryer and was way dark and supper dry this is disappointing we had the same experience with this place many years ago but we read a lot of resent good reviews as of late and though thing have turned around so we gave it a another try but sadly with the same results as the first time and that is really sad as our area is in need of a good old school sit down Chinese restaurant I hate having to drive all the way Alhambra to get the real deal delicious thing. read more

The food here is soooo good! I have tried different items on the menu and every one is delicious. I just tried Moo Shu for the first time and it's my new favorite. The orange chicken is also good and is crispy and perfectly cooked. It's got a spicy/sweet flavor that I love. This place is a no frills, down to earth atmosphere that's inviting and the service is always friendly and quick to get your food. The prices are good considering you get large portions. The food is amazing, they are not stingy with the shrimp to top it if they have vegetarian plates very fresh veggies and the fried rice was delicious . I really think this must be a brutal time for restos coming out of the ridiculous draconian hysteria of C-19, with our current insane gas and food prices and economic pressures. But some places really don't understand the kind of cuisine they are serving, as if they have never eaten at their competitors. I fear this is such a place on both scores. I have found that ethnic restaurants aren't trying to be ethnic anymore because they fear that the average clientele won't appreciate it. A dumb mistake, if you ask me. Why would someone go in search of a tranquil Chinese dinner experience just to be blasted out by the same fifty moldy oldies songs that we hear every day on our car radios, mixed in with the TV news rattling away about how the hillsides are once again on fire?? This is the first thing I was smacked in the face with upon entering. Ugh. What happened to that mellow twangy Chinese music? A second thing that offended me was the lack of complimentary crispy noodles or a hot pot of fragrant tea. This seemed strange because each table had a full complement of condiments including sweetener packets, full shakers of salt and white pepper, and bottles of sriracha and soy sauce. (This is a plus in my book as a lot of better places ARE NOT always doing this!) While this place does have SOME veg-friendly dishes, there are not many, and some of those that often traditionally are, like egg rolls, are not here. Sadly, the egg-drop soup, while admittedly not made with chicken stock, was ONLY egg, water, and some oily base, with none of the usual green onions and other subtle touches that makes this a savory favorite in traditional hands. Meh. My biggest complaint was that the so-called Ma Po Tofu was, well, not. It bore a vague resemblance, but was substantially different from any such version of it that I have ever had. While it did have the de rigueur minced garlic, it lacked that wonderful tomato-ey red pepper quality that seems to be its defining characteristic. Its sauce was a bit sweet (with garlic???) and seemed like they'd had to sub in plum sauce in a pinch! WTF? When I asked the waiter about this, he said they've been making it that way since 2001. Well, like some have said, if you tell the same lie long enough it becomes the truth. And even though it had the chili pepper icon on the menu, it had not a spec of spiciness that I could perceive. Bland and disappointing. One freebie that you do get is a Kari-Out Co. Super K fortune cookie and a fresh orange wedge at the end. While the cookie was kind of thin and crumbly, it gets points because it had neither lard nor canola oil as other brands I have seen served at other places. If you come here as a veg, don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. read more

Since the closing of Chor's in Sunland, we don't have a go-to Chinese spot for takeout anymore. So we decided to try New Mandarin Terrace, which we've driven by a million times, but the outside looks a bit run down, so we never gave it much thought. Glad we remembered, because they have some decent food. My husband's General Tso's chicken wasn't all that, but I was pleased to see they offer Mu Shu Pork, which is my favorite. They are more expensive than Chor's was, but maybe we'll try dining in the restaurant next time. read more

We came by for dinner on a Saturday night after hunting for a good Chinese food spot. The food tasted fresh and came out quick, I LOVED the kung pao chicken! We did like a tasting menu type thing which we enjoyed, the highlights were definitely the entrees. Leo was our server and he was so sweet, seemed like he knew a lot of the people dining in which proves what a local staple this is. Haven't been back here in 5+ years and wanted to give it another try. Unfortunately the food here is still very lacking in flavor and quality. We ordered a couple of dishes with shrimp (combination crunchy noodles, chicken with shrimp, etc) and the shrimp tasted old like they were frozen, unfrozen, and refroze. A friend brought me some takeout from Mandarin Terrace. It was pretty good - not the best Chinese I've ever had but I enjoyed it and especially liked that THERE WAS NO MSG in the food. We had the Hot & Sour Soup, Potstickers, Beef with Broccoli and Combo Pan Fried Noodles - there was a lot of different meats and vegetables with the Pan Fried Noodles - no skimping here! My husband got the sweet and sour chicken. He absolutely loved it 5 out of 5 stars on that one. Very fresh and great flavor. I tried the Triple Imperial Delight. It was very fresh, veggies, shrimp and chicken cooked perfect. I wasn't a big fan of the beef and was expecting more flavor from the garlic sauce. In fairness, it is described as a light garlic sauce. For my dish, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. We will definitely order here again. But there's a problem I saw the waitress two weeks ago on a Wednesday get harassed by the old man working there she told him to stop and he kept touching her inappropriately the manager needs to fire that man he is very rude and I dislike the fact that he kept touching that girl the manager must do something about it before it gets in the hands of human resource.
