The service and availability of goodies is great. But oh boy, the Chuchitos hardly had any chicken ... about two ounces of meat! Todo muy bien en la panadería, pero los chuchitos tenían pollo solo para engañar al cliente !! Yo pago pero deme buen producto.

Worth the Drive from the South Bay…read more Another Eat the World LA find -- and one of my favorite discoveries for Argentinian food! I will literally drive all the way from the South Bay to Santa Ana for the empanadas at Puerto Madero Argentinian Market & Bakery. As someone who is half Argentinian, I'm pretty particular about Argentinian food, and especially empanadas and chimichurri. I criticize almost every chimichurri I try at restaurants that serve it. These empanadas are baked, not fried, generously stuffed, flavorful, and incredibly well-priced for the quality and portion. They don't skimp on the filling -- the empanadas are thick and packed with protein, which makes them feel like an actual meal rather than mostly pastry. And the chimichurri is one of the most authentic I've found. That alone is worth talking about! I've picked up empanadas to bring to all kinds of people, and they consistently get the same reaction. My mom, who is Argentinian-born, loves them. My best friend's family, who is fully Argentinian, praises them. Even my Mexican grandmother has declared them some of the best empanadas she's had. That's a pretty impressive range of approval. I've walked in and ordered a dozen on the spot, placed orders for dozens ahead of time, and also tried other items like the Choripán and beef Milanesa sandwich. Everything has been consistently delicious. Whether I'm grabbing a few for myself, ordering a dozen for family, or bringing a big batch to share, Puerto Madero never disappoints. For me, this is absolutely one of those places where the drive from the South Bay to Santa Ana is completely worth it. If you love Argentine food -- especially empanadas -- put this place on your list.

They sell items that people grew up having at their dining room tables at home. Most people came in to try their variety of Micheladas. My wife had one and seemed to really enjoy it. They utilize a beer brewed down the street, so I love the support of local beer makers. They also ran with photos of people's dogs that they hang up in the market. We found one that looked like our dog. Pretty cool. I was very surprised to see Gustavo Arellano at the helm of the helm of the Michelada counter. The whole place is his wife's conception and I very much approve of the passion she has put into the store. They have very comfortable picnic style tables and benches and I will come back to support them 100%.

There are about 13 different options on there including spicy, savory and sweet. My wife got La Nopalita, which has prickly pear, lime and a cactus fruit candy. She loved it. I got the iced Café de Olla and it was both bold and refreshing. She got the breakfast quesadilla and I got the breakfast torta made with fluffy eggs on artisan bread. We sat comfortably and enjoyed our breakfast while people watching the Sunday passersby on 4th Street with the staff checking on us periodically and making sure we had everything we needed. There are a TON of vegan options as well. Just an awesome breakfast/brunch experience. If you're lucky, you might even spot Gustavo walking around helping or feverishly typing away on an article.

When I started cooking it, it had an unusual smell that reminded me of beef chorizo, and the taste matched the smell. Something seemed off, and I was concerned about the quality of the product. I tried calling that evening, but the business was already closed. The next morning, I went in to let them know what had happened. I had already thrown most of the chorizo away because I didn't feel comfortable eating it, and I only had a small portion left to bring back. During the conversation, I was repeatedly asked why I didn't call sooner and why I didn't bring back all of the product. There was also a sign pointed out to me stating that there are no refunds or exchanges. The thing is, I wasn't there asking for a refund or exchange. My main reason for coming in was to let them know about my concern and the experience I had with the product. As a regular customer, I felt it was important to bring it to their attention. Instead, I left feeling like my honesty was being questioned and that my concern wasn't taken seriously. To their credit, they did replace the amount that I brought back, but I had originally purchased 1.5 pounds. More than the replacement itself, what disappointed me was the way the situation was handled. A little understanding and better customer service would have gone a long way. I've always supported this business, which is why this experience stood out. I hope they take customer concerns more seriously in the future and approach situations like this with a bit more empathy and trust.
