After hearing so many friends rave about this bakery, I had to check it out for myself. Since I was already in East San José, it was the perfect opportunity. They have an amazing variety of Colombian bread! I decided to try the Hojaldre de Pollo (Chicken Puff Pastry), Guava & Cheese Croissant, and a Mojicón filled with Arequipe (Dulce de Leche). Yeah, I got a little carried away, but I was excited!! The best part? The bread was incredibly delicious! You can really taste the buttery, flaky goodness and the love they put into every bite. This is the first time since living in the Bay Area that I've found something that truly tastes like real Colombian bread. For those who don't know, Colombian bakeries are unique because they offer a wide variety of both savory and sweet breads, blending different cultural influences like European techniques (French croissants, Spanish bread), Indigenous ingredients (cassava, corn), and African culinary traditions (coconut, panela, and more). It's the perfect example of how sweet and savory coexist beautifully in Colombian baking. And since they offer everything from pandebono and buñuelos to pan aliñado and ham & cheese croissants, I already know I'll be coming back for more! On top of that, the atmosphere truly captures the essence of a classic panadería--warm, welcoming, and filled with the irresistible smell of freshly baked bread. The service was also great, making the whole experience even better.

Drove by this spot and I saw the big sign that said Colombian Bakery. Made a u-turn and had to try it since I'm going to Colombia soon. Workers didn't speak English and I had to pull out the phone for translation assistance. He explained what they had. So I bought some bake goods. My favorite one was the bread with guava filling. I wish it had a better ratio of filling. I had the empanada, it was by far the least favorite empanada I have ever had. It was dry and bland. Had the croissant too, and it was just okay. I seen a few people eating tamales so I decided to order one. Let's just say it had one piece of chicken leg and it was flavorless. Wasn't a fan of the tamales because it was too bland for me. Then it had pork fat. That turned me off. It was just fat no meat. Didn't finish it. You get 3 bake goods for $10. I can't wait to go to Colombia and try what I tried at this place to compare it. However, the staff is great here. Friendly and helpful regardless of the language barrier. Glad I had a Pony Malta to wash it all down. Well, at least I tried it because it's not often you see a Colombian bakery.

Poor customer service. I was waiting in line and ignored while another customer was helped. I was excited to try this place too.

Somehow he came across a YouTube ad for this restaurant and convinced me to make the drive all the way to San Jose... and wow, it was absolutely worth it! From the moment we walked in, the service was welcoming and attentive. The food? Incredible. Everything was packed with authentic flavor, beautifully presented, and honestly brought back memories of our trip to Colombia. We ordered the house specials along with a few Colombian beers, and the entire experience was just perfect. It's not every day you find a place that's worth fighting Bay Area traffic for, but this spot definitely is. Great atmosphere, delicious food, amazing service -- we will absolutely be coming back again. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Colombian flavor and a fun dining experience.

It has a super homey, welcoming vibe. Here is the breakdown of what we ordered: Bistec with Chorizo: The serving size was huge! Definitely big enough for two light eaters. It was really tasty overall, though I do wish the beef had been a bit more tender. Beef Empanadas: Hands down, some of the better ones I've ever had. The skin was thin and perfectly crispy, and the filling was packed with flavor. Pair them with their chili oil sauce... yumm! To top it off, our waitress was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I'll definitely be returning to try some new dishes next time!

Milohas (mil hojas) means a thousand layers in Spanish, and one taste of Milohas' pastries will make you understand why they picked that moniker. The Good: * Large shared parking lot * Friendly service * Covered outdoor dining * The crust of the empanadas was buttery, flaky, and delicious. All the fillings were good, but you have to try the Hawaiian filling! It was truly fantastic and had us wishing that's all we'd ordered. * Guava Finger has the same perfect crust and tasty guava jam--I could eat a dozen of these and come back for more. *oink oink* * Carissa really enjoyed their lentil soup. I didn't try it, so I can't comment. The Meh: * I kind of prefer the chunks of meat in Peruvian empanadas to the ground meat in Colombian ones, but that's just a personal preference. It was still delicious, so at the end of the day, it's all academic. The Ugly: * No indoor dining, and outdoor dining is limited to only a handful of seats. Conclusion: We've been on the hunt for the best empanadas in the South Bay, and we finally found them.

We ordered: -Blackberry juice -Colombiana -Pacfico -Morcilla con papas -1 beef empanada -1 chicken empanada -Bandeja paisa The food and drinks all came out in like 5min. Super quick! The empanadas were really good, well seasoned. Morcilla was delicious! The potatos are not seasoned but you can salt them yourself. They come with 2 sauces one thats guacamole and the other was tapatio based, which was disappointing because it should come with aji. The bandeja paisa was okay. The plantaines, white rice (exceptionally good), salad with avocado, and sauces. We finished our meal with in house fresh bakery items, which were really outstanding (See Pictures). Overall, the meal we ordered was pretty good, except for the plantains, which were hard, dry, and inedible (possibly not fresh made-was kept under a heat lamp). This restaurant may not be suitable for families, as it is also a sports bar with big screen TV's, loud music and geared for adults. The price point was fairly high as compared to other restaurants I have visited. Our bill for 2 dinners, 2 soft drinks, 2 desserts was $95 before tip. The restaurant was well maintained and clean. If you're in the area, why not try it?
