I like going to this restaurant since the prices are decent and most of the dishes they serve are pretty good as well. I usually order Shrimp Mojo De Ajo and this is best dish that I ever had from this place. I like their burritos, DUI fries, and Nachos as well. I used to liked their Thai food but they don't serve Thai food anymore. It's hard to believe that Mexican restaurant serving good Thai food but it was actually very good. Another greasy gem near work but when I am in the mood to eat greasy fried yummies this is the place! It's one of those places that has a million things on the menu from cerviche and octopus to pancakes and french toast while throwing in a pastrami sandwich! I know soooooo random but they will always have what you are in the mood for! Service is okay but it does suck that they don't take credit cards or ATM. They do have one of those random cash machines there but it charges you and I hate stuff like that. It does take forever if you are wanting it to go. The quality here is good, and the prices are nice. The Chile Relleno is a good choice, and so are many of the combos that give you multiple food options. The parking's not great though, so it may be worth walking over here if you already parked in one of the bigger lots like at the Subway Plaza or the Farmer's Market. Haven't been here in a while but they got a much needed renovation. The service was not really good. We came during rush and my food came out first. By the time I was finished, my brother's food had barely come out. I understand that you may be backed up in the kitchen but please don't bring out my food before anybody else's food at my table unless their food comes immediately after. When I arrived with my party, 2 others showed up at the same time and our server took all of our orders at the same time. Now if you've ever worked in table service, you would know better than to punch in all those orders at once because then you'll back up the kitchen causing a later wait time for food. As for my food, it wasn't bad. I got the hot salsa omlet and tasted pretty good except for it's presentation. Now I noticed inside the omlet there was jack cheese, but for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to put 2 alices of American cheese. That just kills it for me. I'm not saying it took away from the taste but it didn't even add to it. My dad's mojara was over fried just a bit and the same for my brothers Costa azul. If it wasn't for the the service I would give it another star, but if you can't handle a rush then you probably shouldn't be open. read more

The Asada Froes along with our Seafood tostadas were good also the pupusas we're excellent. The rest of the food we ordered wasn't pleasant at all like the club sandwich and burgers were not to our liking at all. The only reason I gave this place a 3 stars was because it's customer services could be better. I ordered some food to go and I had to continuously tell the waiter to give me salsa and other items that went along with my to go food. She was bothered perhaps irritated I don't know but that's bad for business I myself have my own Restaurant business and I know customer service is very important to our customers they are purchasing therefore we have to serve them and treat them with respect. read more

This restaurant has PASTRAMI FRIES! This was my first time eating them and they were amazing! Consisting of- -fries as the bottom layer -followed by a layer of tasty re-fried beans topped with cheese - Half of the large plate topped with pastrami - The other half with tasty carne asada - Accompanied finally with sour cream, great guacamole, and pico de gallo. Though maybe not the healthiest choice it is very delicious and VERY filling. It is also short of people working there since i think it is a family owned and worked restaurant and the food can some time take a while to come out especially when it gets busy but the food is well worth the wait. When paying it is better to pay in cash because like said earlier they do not take credit cards, or ATMS. When using DEBIT card, they charge you 3 dollars as so it might not be the best choice. They walls are decorated with many pictures of mostly Mexican, but other Latin American entertainers from the Pedro Infante, Cantinflas, and Pacita La del Barrio. And the one picture of The Beatles. The Parking is pretty okay but there is really no shade, but is some what spacious. Great food with mediocre Service, its best after watching a movie at the theater a block away from Hot Salsa with a couple good friends. read more

The worker instructed me to sit. After we sat I noticed that the waitress had no system for taking orders. People walked in after we sat and they got menus before us. We waited about 10 minutes before we got menus and were asked to order at the same time we got our menus without knowing what was on the menu. We did not get chips and salsa but some other tables got theirs. The waitress seemed to take orders haphazardly. She took orders from half of one table before going to another!! The stars are solely for the food. Ive tried a little but of everything and its all been very good. The pupusa is my favorite. If youre all about the customer service this place isnt for you. Food was great but the service the cashier and waitress gave us was rude and a bit disrespectful. They seem to have a smile for everyone except us. I used to come here a few years ago. The food was good and the place looked ok. I returned and noticed the change in the place. Now, they take your order and serve you. Before, you ordered at the counter and they called your number and you picked it up. I like the change, but i have to say that the rating is "all about the food!!" The food was amazing!!! I was sooo impressed!!! So much food for the price!! I wish i would have taken pictures. My wife got the al pastor plate. Great size!! Plenty of meat! I got three small tacos. Meat was overflowing. Not often i have to eat with a fork after i finished my tacos. Top top it off i got the papas locas!! OOMMGGG!!! I WAS SO BLOWN AWAY BY THE SIZE!!! I ordered this for myself, but it is something you order to share. TRUST ME!! I have a favorite place to go for Mexican, but it's not around the corner. I had the Carne Asada burrito, personally I didn't care for the Asada, maybe I'm just not into it right now, I'd definitely try it again. My friend recommended the place. it is a bit far from home but was totally worth the trip! The quality of food was good. Quantity and the service was excellent. My friend ordered (and shared) the garlic shrimp plate and my husband, the mix seafood soup, chicken teriyaki and quesadilla for kids and Mojartta frita for me and we were all beyond impressed. I mean it was so much better than the recent trip to the LA times recommended mexican restaurant. My fiancé and I just ate here like 10 minutes ago and it was sooooo delicious. We were the only people there, our waitress was a doll and asked us to take a seat wherever we wanted and brought us menus. They have a pretty good menu both American and Mexican food. We went with Mexican. We wanted to try different stuff and ordered four different dishes. We got the sope plate, taquitos plate, 4 small tacos and 1 chicharron pupusa (yes I know it's not Mexican lol). The plates come with rice, beans and salad. The portions are pretty big, which is great! The food was fresh and ohhhh so delicious! The beans , salad and meats were fresh and flavorful. Everything came out together and hot. We were so full and happy, definitely making our way back here and we live in Belmont Shore and it's definitely not a hop, skip and jump. Highly recommended!!! read more
