A coworker that lives in the area recommend this spot as I'm currently staying here for a week. I stopped by around 7pm & was able to dine in. They had just opened up sometime this week again after closing for a while during Covid. They have many choices to choose from but I ordered one of their recommendation which was their Seafood burrito combo. The woman who attended me was friendly & able to accommodate my specific diet when it came with my dish as I can't eat dairy. They also serve alcohol beverages if you're in the mood. Unfortunately I was not able to try it as I'm only here for work and not pleasure. Seafood burrito combo $19 -Comes with prawns & fish. Has a variety of veggies such as sautéed onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms & cilantro. It comes topped with cheese & sour cream. Because I couldn't do dairy, she recommended substituting it for green chili which was a excellent choice. This was a decent dish but for me, the burrito was a bit smaller then I expected especially for the price. Despite me liking the dish, I don't think the price is worth it & I would probably go for something else next time that seems more reasonable. read more

This place used to be alot better last 2-3 visits the staff and food was really lousy. Store bought corn tortilla chips and salsa. Subpar enchiladas. Refried beans and rice no flavor. The food is wonderful! The staff is professional and pleasant... the bartenders are outstanding!! My meals and drinks are always excellent.

First I'd like to say the employees here are always very nice. I'm writing to complain about their online menu prices. Wish they would update the prices. Today I called in order for pickup. Item price was $11.25. I was charged $15.25. I'm aware there's an extra charge of .50 I believe for takeout. But the tab was $4.00 more than the website prices . It can't be that difficult to update their website. read more

Used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant, but no longer. Last two times the food was terrible! I wasn't real hungry, so just ordered a shredded beef taco. It was $6 for a tiny corn tortilla shell folded over and "filled" with dried, used, fatty, burnt ground beef--like they scraped the grill that had burgers on it all day, a little lettuce and 4 tiny pieces of tomato. Ended up getting sick from the beef and I didn't and couldn't eat more than 1/2 of the tiny thing. Seriously, it was the grossest ever. Will never go back. And my husband had shredded beef burrito which was so dry he kept coughing and didn't and couldn't finish it either. He didn't get sick, but regretted his choice. And the waitress was the one who recommended it. She must have been told to push beef that day.... Sorry now that we didn't take pictures to share. Like I said, we are sad about it because it used to be so good, but we will never go back again. One more thing you should know. They have a program where they punch in your phone the amount of your purchase and you work toward points for free or money off meals. Three out of five times the waitresses did not know how to do it or were too busy to do it and so they put our phone number on the back of the ticket they turn in when we pay. We never got credit for those meals and told the manager-- could not have cared any less. What a rip off. read more

Love, love Pancho's!! Servers are awesome and their lunch menu is the best deal in town!! My favorite is the chile relleno which I have every time I go as it's the best I've ever had! Now I've even taken to order a to go order of the relleno so I can have it the next day. Otherwise, I keep thinking about how good it is and have to drive the 30 miles ASAP to go back!! I was in the area visiting family and we came in for lunch on St. Paddy's Day. I know, Mexican food on this day seems odd but it was just right! We were seated promptly in a kind of back room with more privacy. Ordered drinks and the service was great! Extensive menu with lunch specials and many tempting choices. We had a pork burrito that would have been enough for 2 and a combo plate. What I noticed when I finished my ground beef taco was the absence of any grease on the plate. Bliss, pure bliss! After taking my first sip of my frozen margarita, it almost brought a tear to my eye. They aren't using pre-made mix, you taste the fresh lime juice and they go down so easily they can be dangerous. Absolutely the best margarita i have ever had. Not to be outdone, the food was just outstanding. I decided to go with the Tacos de Camaron with prawns and let me tell you, I could eat those every day. This place may have changed my "if you had to eat one dish for the rest of your life" pick, it was that good. If you stop by here get something with seafood and get a frozen margarita, you'll thank me later. read more

I was not expecting much from this place, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I was torn between the green enchiladas, and the chile verde, and the waitress recommended that the Chile verde. The pork was tender and delicious, and the rice and beans were perfectly done. The only thing lacking were the chips and salsa, which were both pretty bland. I'm down for some cheap Mexican but that was not cheap, or good. We were very disappointed. Paid $4 for a bowl of velveta. Chips were over cooked. Mediocre at best. Food lacking flavor. Skimpy on the taco filling (ground beef). Server messed up order, first bringing chicken tacos instead of beef. Anyone can make a mistake but she was indifferent about it. As a single diner it's often difficult to get the server's attention. Paying the bill took a while because she was busy vacuuming and cleaning other sections while I waited. There are better options in Brookings. read more

I tried this restaurant on a recommendation of a friend. I am normally apprehensive because not everyone has the same tastes and I was jokingly warned the Mexican restaurants here in Brookings were more Americanized than those you find in the Central Valley in California. That being said,the food was absolutely delicious. The service was fast and friendly. It was kinda calm for a Friday night but it was before 5 pm. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who hasn't tried it or wants to take company out for a reasonably priced meal. read more

Shared two entrees at lunch. First up was a grilled fish salad - an abundant amount of delicious, fresh Snapper, but served on a bed of "mixed green salad" that was really a bed of what seemed like one kind of lettuce (with a few pieces of cabbage). The second entree was a seafood combo, which had shrimp, scallops, and snapper that was "sautéed in a spicy wine, butter, and garlic sauce, and served in a bowl with chopped jalapenos, cilantro and our special blend of spices". But what it turned out to be was the seafood mentioned served in a butter and garlic soup; not what we were expecting. There was nothing unusual about the rice and beans; very ordinary. Their salsa was excellent, and the chips were not at all greasy like many places. Service was friendly, but no one ever checked up on us once we got our meal, until we were waiting for the bill. I love this place and have eaten here many times over the years. My Dad lives in Brookings and is 100 1/2 years now. He loves the chimichanga with a magarita and I love the chili relleno/tamale combo plate also with a magarita. The food is always good and the service attentive. I was craving something spicy so I came here based on prior reviews. I got the seafood combo burrito and flan. I ordered my burrito extra spicy. The service was good. The burrito had sauteed scallops and shrimp. It was covered in a cream sauce and served with rice and beans. I enjoyed it very much and it was spicy. The flan was good; no complaints. I recieved a complimentary bag of chips and salsa; which is nice. The salsa was good but I noticed it almosy tasted like the base was canned tomato sauce. We stop in Brookings every year and decided to stop at Panchos for lunch today. Fantastic food, warm chips, delicious salsa. I had the fish burrito and my husband had the super burrito. Both were delicious. The service is what stood out though. Wow! I have never had service that good. We were in and out, food was HOT, and drinks never emptied. We came over from Medford to visit our son and chose this restaurant to eat at. Walked in and the hostess acted annoyed we were there waiting to be seated. No smile, barley muttered hello. Extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming first impression. My son tried to be polite and said thank you ma'am when she finally brought put chips and salsa. Still no smile. First Impression: pictures look great, let's give it a try. It went down hill and fast from there. Pulled in, confusing parking lot. Walked in and got a nasty look from the waitress. Didn't acknowledge us at whatsoever besides that. When she finally did, the nasty look was in alignment with her horrible attitude. We were as friendly as can be, used manners, spoke kindly, but she would not smile and was clearly serving us begrudgingly. She looked at her watch when we asked for a minute to get acquainted with the menu. The food was blah and the only redemption was a somewhat decent yet tiny overpriced margarita. Speaking of prices: seriously OVERPRICED. I got bagged lettuce with my taco, it had the carrots and red cabbage and bag salad taste to go with it. No thank you! The beef was so crunchy, it must have been sitting there a very long time. Yuck! The beans had no flavor. Absolutely like flushing money down the drain. To make matters worse, we got to hear 3 employees talk about how much they don't like the owners/ management. Believe me, it shows! Please, do your self a favor and pass on this. The food is very good.. everything is good, always served fresh and hot to where you have to wait for it to cool down for a bit. Ive went there with people 21 or above (my family) and it is an amazing place for drinking, having fun and talking. The staff are nice as well. My favorite is the chicken enchiladas. We day-trip to Brookings from Humboldt County every few months, and Pancho's is a must-stop every time! My fiance normally gets the Chef's burrito and loves it, while I've bounced around the menu. Everything's been quite yummy, but last time I ordered the grilled prawn tacos and they blew my mind. Healthy serving of prawns (not overcooked!), fresh veggies, and a delicious cream sauce. I found what menu item I'm sticking with from now on! Restaurant's clean, parking's plentiful, and the waitresses are attentive. And you can have your dog with you on the outdoor patio! read more

Stopped here for lunch during a drive up the coast, we were apprehensive because of some of the reviews but gave it a shot. Food was very good, staff was friendly. Other reviews complained of no drink refills and no to-go containers but we didn't experience that at all. We would definitely come back if we lived here. read more

PLASTIC IN FOOD and Pathetic Service I am so so sad to be writing this as I have been a loyal Pancho's customer for 15 years. As a Bay Area native, I know good food and working in the Financial District in San Francisco, I know good customer service. I have never had such an egregious experience at this place before which is why I'm immensely disappointed to be writing this review. We waited 10 minutes before getting water, and asked multiple times on the status of our Modelo Negro and piña colada. 30 minutes later, our food arrived and still no beverages. In what world are you served your meal before your ordered beverage? Just curious. We eventually canceled the drink order that never came. The bean dip that I had ordered when I first arrived also took quite a bit to arrive and when I asked a lady on the status, I got a "Well I just got here" response. Incorrect and pathetically unprofessional response for someone who works in customer service. "Let me check on that for you" would have been more appropriate. The cherry on top of this miserably inadequate experience was when I found a 3" piece of plastic under my refried beans. I immediately asked for a manager and requested that our entire meal be comped. She obliged. I'm sure she's a nice lady but she's a sorry excuse for a manager and her negligence and deer in the headlights demeanor screams that she has had insufficient or no managerial training, as well as her staff. After 15 years, it's safe to say that Pancho's is hereby CANCELED. Taking suggestions for other Mexican eateries in the area or anywhere I can get service with a "no excuses" and "customer first" attitude. If you happen to find yourself in Brookings, Oregon, and you really want some Mexican food, this place just might do the trick. If you are a minor, or happen to look like one, they absolutely will not let you sit anywhere near the bar. Not even at a booth next to the bar. Never thought I would get carded just to sit at a table in a restaurant located across from a bar, but I guess there's a first time for everything. (Is this an Oregon thing?) I was going to go with my standby of cheese enchiladas, but, when in the PNW, you should probably eat all of the seafood available to you, so I chose the prawns and scallops with rice. The dish was interesting and relatively tasty. There was no shortage of prawns and scallops and the sauce was pretty good. The dish includes tomatoes and mushrooms, as well as a few other things. The serving size is huge, as in there is enough food for two or three people. I didn't finish all of it, but I certainly put in a valiant effort. I don't remember the chips and salsa, so, in my world, that means they were probably nothing to write home about. The service wasn't excellent, but it wasn't downright terrible, either. I'll probably never find myself in this small town again, but if you happen to find yourself in Brookings while driving up the Pacific Coast Highway and you really, really need to get your Mexican food fix - eh, why not? read more

This place was the highlight of our day on Sunday. Our car had broken down so we were pretty much stuck in this city we had no idea about. We stopped by Pancho's to get something to eat per our hotel agent's recommendation. We were blown away by how the atmosphere looked, it looked like a restaurant you'd walk into in Mexico. The decor was attractive, the food was great, the staff was awesome(I wish I could remember her name but the young lady who served us spoke spanish and has beautiful hazel eyes and dark hair put in a high bun, she also gave me a mini tour of the place. Makaila (sp?)at the bar was beyond awesome. You guys made our day and we appreciate it so much. If we ever come to the area, we would def stop by no questions asked :) Pancho's Rock! ~L read more
