This is like a blast from the past - it's perfectly maintained in its old diner style. I haven't seen anything like it in Long Beach. I got heuvos rancheros and my sister got the supreme burrito! Both were delicious. The real standout was the rice and beans! The fresh flour tortillas with butter were insanely good. Chillin' with the homies!!! Well my mom to be exact, but she's my homie too! After a full day of shopping and talking our appetites interjected and said, hey y'all, can we get a word in? The word was.....food! Not just any food but Mexican food. Moms suggested Pancho's because we were literally down the street. *Fun fact: born and raised in LB and never had I ever ate here! Passed it a thousand times and always said, I'm gonna try that place one day and boy did it not disappoint! How do you know the food is good? Two signs: one - the parking lot is packed. Two - it's packed inside with customers grubbing and outside customers waiting to grub; including me and the homie; I mean my mom. We put our names on the list and chatted with another family. They were shocked that we had never ate there. He said the food was great and he comes all the time; you can't beat the prices. Mom and I waited about 15 minutes and were seated. She ordered a beef taco + cheese enchilada which comes with rice & beans. I got a cheese enchilada + chile relleno with rice and beans. We both got iced tea and for $1 more you can add a salad! Kid you not! The food did not disappoint! Good flavors, plenty of cheese and the sauce wasn't too spicy. Their salsa and chips are fantastic. Service was quick and personable. It has been 13 years since I had been. My husband started coming back a few months ago (we moved from Cypress to Riverside in 2013). It was as good as I remember. The enchiladas were delicious and the tacos were nice a crispy. The service was great! Our waitress did a fantastic job. I asked if the business was ran by the same family for their 50 years in business and she confirmed it was. That makes it even more impressive. It's a small little restaurant which in my opinion could use some much needed upgrades as the table and other furniture was older than me in appearance . To put it simply 50 years society was much smaller. Now people like myself don't fit in the tight booths with their teenage sons that are built like linebackers :) All in all we all enjoyed are visit and we will be back for the great food and great service. I pass by this restaurant all the time and finally decided to give it a try. My boyfriend and I ordered food to go. I got the 2 beef hard shell tacos and he got 2 beef taquitos. Each came with rice, beans, tortilla chips and salsa. My tacos were really tasty. The bottom got a bit soggy, but that's my fault for not eating them immediately. The rice and beans were good too. The chips were homemade and delicious. The salsa was a mild pico de gallo. I wish they had a medium spice salsa, which would have paired well with the tacos. My boyfriend enjoyed his taquitos too, which came with fresh guacamole. They only have canned soda to drink. It would have been great if they sold agua fresca. The prices were very reasonable especially for the amount of food you are getting. It is cash only, which I think is one reason why they can keep prices low. So this place is a short walk from my apt. I thought it was gonna be good but it was mid at best. The rice was flavorless and a little hard. The beans were all right and the tacos were good. Not crazy about the meat being that juicy but at least they were crunchy. My girlfriend's chili verde was no where close to verde, but she ate most of it. The prices are low because they only take cash but they could add some chicken bouillon to their rice and it would be good to go. read more

Reminds me of college when I had little money, basic taste palette, and a big appetite for some yummy Mexican food. The prices are the best part. Hole in the wall joint with diner-esque vibes. The entrance to the restaurant will cause you to scrape your car, just the way I like it. The beans are bussin', the guac is a funny but tasty green color, and the bag of chips that give you will last you a month. The enchiladas were greasy, cheesy, and wet. I'm getting hungry again and will definitely be back!!!!! So glad this place survived Covid. We need at least 1 good, cheap, Mexican restaurants preserved in our neighborhood! read more

We took my mother here for her birthday as she has been going here for many years. when we showed up there was plenty of open tables at 430pm. we all ordered our food & enjoyed their chips salsa with drinks, when the food came it was nice & hot and the food was delicious. The food is always fresh and excellent every time I go here. Well, it's considered a Long Beach institution serving our area for 58 years. The charm is the original decor. Brings me back to my childhood.
