Cheese Enchiladas and shredded beef taco. Amazing!
Melissa Z.

It has been 13 years since I had been. My husband started coming back a few months ago (we moved from Cypress to Riverside in 2013). It was as good as I remember. The enchiladas were delicious and the tacos were nice a crispy. The service was great! Our waitress did a fantastic job. I asked if the business was ran by the same family for their 50 years in business and she confirmed it was. That makes it even more impressive. It's a small little restaurant which in my opinion could use some much needed upgrades as the table and other furniture was older than me in appearance . To put it simply 50 years society was much smaller. Now people like myself don't fit in the tight booths with their teenage sons that are built like linebackers :) All in all we all enjoyed are visit and we will be back for the great food and great service. But I am not wait 13 years to come back.

I had a TexMex craving and Pancho's definitely got the job done!! Everything was so good and service was fast and friendly! The kiddos are super picky and they ate all their food, they had their chips with melted cheese, quesadilla and a side of beans and they devoured everything! My favorite was their beef tacos, beef taquitos and enchiladas! Will defend be back soon!!

Beef taquitos. Look at that delicious guacamole!

Love Panchos! A weekly visit is a must. All their food is delicious. Really enjoyed the chile relleno. Crunchy tacos are so good, beef or chicken either are still delicious. Cash only.

I pass by this restaurant all the time and finally decided to give it a try. My boyfriend and I ordered food to go. I got the 2 beef hard shell tacos and he got 2 beef taquitos. Each came with rice, beans, tortilla chips and salsa. My tacos were really tasty. The bottom got a bit soggy, but that's my fault for not eating them immediately. The rice and beans were good too. The chips were homemade and delicious. The salsa was a mild pico de gallo. I wish they had a medium spice salsa, which would have paired well with the tacos. My boyfriend enjoyed his taquitos too, which came with fresh guacamole. They only have canned soda to drink. It would have been great if they sold agua fresca. The prices were very reasonable especially for the amount of food you are getting. It is cash only, which I think is one reason why they can keep prices low. I'd definitely return here to try their other dishes.

Chili Verde?

So this place is a short walk from my apt. I thought it was gonna be good but it was mid at best. The rice was flavorless and a little hard. The beans were all right and the tacos were good. Not crazy about the meat being that juicy but at least they were crunchy. My girlfriend's chili verde was no where close to verde, but she ate most of it. The prices are low because they only take cash but they could add some chicken bouillon to their rice and it would be good to go.

Our dinner it was amazing. I would go back if I didn't live so far away every day.

The best, Mexican food, hands-down, everything is fresh and amazing from the chips and salsa to the drinks

A great old school restaurant with big portions and fair prices. Lunch specials are a great value. I recommend the chili reillno.

The service was great. This is a small restaurant and it was crowded, I thought the food was ok, but I've had better!

Ask the Community - Pancho's Mexican Restaurant

Does Panchos have a taco Tuesday special?

No they do not

Saw a change of ownership sign, is the owner buying out the old panchos?

It was posted on Facebook it's his family Rosa & Jamie bought it 😊

Is this restaurant affiliated with Pancho's in Manhattan Beach?

No, this Pancho's is a small family owned restaurant, the other one in MB is a bigger family owned, multiple locations, good but more expensive and they have all the Margaritas etc.

Spectacular Mexican food! I'm so glad TikTok recommended this place because I may have never…read morestumbled upon it otherwise! I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally…read more I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

If you want big portions, legit authentic food, and prices that won't personally offend you--this is your spot. The pork shank? Fall-off-the-bone, no-effort-required kind of delicious. The tacos are (I do wish they had à la carte instead of plates, but honestly their rice and refried beans slap so I'll allow it). The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. They bring out chips and salsa immediately (as they should), service is quick, and there's plenty of parking--which already puts them ahead of half the restaurants in SoCal.

I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. And Tony was amazing. Took very good care of us.

Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH.
