This is probably the best buffet we've been to in Bradenton! There may be fewer choices than some of the other buffets, but honestly, the quality of the food was excellent. Everything we tried was really good, and the dishes were being replenished regularly so nothing seemed to sit empty for long. The restaurant was very clean, the calming music was a nice touch, and the servers were wonderful--friendly and attentive. My only minor complaint was that some of the food could have been a little warmer, although I'll admit I probably took too much food at once and some of it cooled off while I was eating everything! Unfortunately, the owners of this establishment are seriously negligent with the hygienic maintenance of their restaurant. They are either absent or simply don't care and have zero pride in ownership. The carpet is filthy, the mildew mold smell is significant. The food is generally good, you pick and choose whats best, but I wonder what the kitchen looks like. If it reflects the interior dining room . . . well, it leaves me concerned. Service is ok. Mediocre at best....hostess was not terribly friendly and appeared to wish she was anywhere but here.. It is buffet...I didn't think there was anything "special" on the menu...people buzzing around but relatively 0 table check-in. Napkins as always are at a premium...the soups were tasty...checken wings dry...several Asian chicken dishes seemed like the meat was dry which to me means it has been sitting there most of the afternoon. Pepsi products not coke...your beverage is extra ($2.79 for a refillable soda...but no-one stopped by to refill and the machine is way in the back...kind of off the main floor...white rice and a small sushi selection which consisted of the pretend sushi items like California rolls and maki...soy sauce was light and super salty...the Wasabi and pink ginger were good. Off to try the "blue bunny" ice cream before I head out. Check with the wait staff or hostess with seating you are in. There is not only a difference in price but restrictions on food/ dishes that can only be eaten at dinner - clearly marked! I will try another buffet some tile down the road....this is #2...so far not much luck although I remain hopeful. Went for Christmas dinner and it was the exact same buffet they have on the weekends except more expensive. Quick and efficient service even though they were extremely busy. Everyone seemed stressed. This was probably the worst Chinese place I've ever been to. It was most certainly the worst Chinese Buffet. My husband and I are visiting the area on vacation. He was really hungry and we often enjoy visiting local Chinese Buffets because the food is generally decent and you can get a variety. This place had variety, but thats about all I can say. The quality was poor and there were far more "american" dishes than I feel should be at a traditional "Chinese Buffet." The place didn't even have freshly made white rice! The only "rice" options were dried out white rice in a slow cooker next to a toaster oven and a vegetable fried rice that looked like the cook dumped an entire container of saffron in it. The fake yellow color was crazy! There was some decent vegetable lo mein and the soup choices were ok. You could get egg drop, wonton and hot and sour. I had the egg drop which tasted fine, but it could have been hotter. I find it interesting that this close to the Gulf of Mexico, this restaurant couldn't even spring for decent scallops or crab. The only recognizable seafood was the shrimp and some sort of broiled fish. I tried several things that said they were either seafood or scallops, but the "seafood" was imitation crab meat. My husband and I both had hot tea because thats what we normally have. Fortunately it was ok. My husband and I both agreed that their steamed string beans were also terrible. They were wrinkled and rubbery like they had been there all day. How hard is it to serve freshly steamed string beans? My husband did say that the beef and green peppers was ok. The General Tso's was also ok, but I have had far better. The fortune cookies even seemed stale! My husband left this place hungry. That is really saying something! In closing, I would avoid this place if you are looking for some good Chinese. I would have give this place a half star or zero stars, if I could have. read more

Honestly, I'd give 2.5 stars if I could but will round up because it's not terrible, but it's far from great. Panda Buffet is located in a strip mall in what appears was built for something else and then Panda Buffet came in later. It doesn't feel like it quite belongs. The seating is fairly tight in the center with roomier booths along the sides. The waitstaff is nominal. They are there for drinks, taking away dishes, and processing payments. Not one person smiled much less said a word. Chinese buffet is pushing it. It's a buffet, but I don't think there was any actual Chinese food. There was a lot of classic food that Americans think is Chinese, but you won't find in China or even prepared the same across this country. For example, sweet and sour chicken is a Western creation, you won't find it in China. In Seattle it is very lightly breaded and always served with pineapples. Here it was mostly breading with a chicken surprise inside! Then there were foods completely not even close to Chinese. French fries, chicken strips, salad bar, sushi rolls... Speaking of sushi rolls the selection they had were sitting on a lamp. There's no sushi that should ever be under a lamp. Sure, it was only avocado rolls by the look of it, but that couldn't have been tasty all dried out. They did have an amazing selection of ice cream, though each of the five gallon buckets were labeled wrong.
