Worst experience EVER! I tried to order online. They never called me to confirm. After 20minutes, I tired to call them and they hung up on me. When I finally got ahold of someone, they lied and said that I had entered my number incorrectly and tried to say that they had been trying to call me. HORRIABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE~!!!!! I ordered canned soda and received super warm soda. Soda can was expanded. When I called to let them know the Panda/lady on the phone said it was my fault for not ordering COLD soda. WTH??? The lunch was delivered room temperature and burnt. Panda used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Anchorage. However, the last few times we've ordered we've been quite disappointed, the food has been mediocre at best. Well, I can't really say Panda is "The Best Chinese Food" house in Anchorage, but I will give them an extra star for one very important factor, and that is the "Bang for your Buck" when you order a dinner there and stay to eat it. The portions are plentiful, and actually tasty, but I really think they could use a course in Customer Relations". Jenn and I went in and while we were waiting to be seated, I asked the woman behind the cash register a question about their Teriyaki Special. At first I was a little frightened because she looked up at me, and had those "crazy eyes", that I had last seen so horribly in my ex-wife , when I won my townhouse free and clear during the divorce. When she spoke, there were freaking snakes emulating from here mouth ears and nose. And her tone of voice made me shiver, and I am 6 foot and 230 lbs!!! She was 5'0 and PURE EVIL!!!! Any way, we were seated, and the meal, which included Sweet/Sour Chicken, Chicken Chow Mien and Teriyaki Beef was really good. I went there today. The service was fast, the staff was friendly and the food was ok, a 2.5 at best. I might have given a 3 star until I saw a mouse run across the floor. I mentioned it to them and was told, "I know, it's ok." It wasn't ok with me. They didn't offer to take anything off the bill. I will not return to this restaurant. read more

I got a bowl for 8.99 I got honey shrimp and cashews bowl with fried rice. The lady told me it was an extra 1.89 for the shrimp doesn't have a sign posted anywhere...of course, I get home and there is only five pieces of shrimp and one tiny cashew with a whole ton of fried rice!!!! The bad news is that there is no truly great Chinese food in Anchorage. None. This is a local favorite, but if you really enjoy and know Chinese food, skip it because these people do not. The best you'll get is Charlie's Bakery at C Street and Northern Lights (also only dim sum in Anchorage). When I asked the staff at Panda to make a dish (shrimp with vegetables in a black bean sauce) that you can readily get in any city from NYC to Honolulu, the server argued with me and then told me the chef had never heard of it. I asked them to try and the dish came out looking and tasting like sludge. (I have since had the same dish exquisitely made several times while traveling.) In summary, if you want Chinese in Anchorage go to Charlie's. Otherwise, skip Chinese and go to Thai Orchid for outstanding Thai food. read more

Staff is nice and friendly. My complaint is the size of the portions are too small. I ordered a bowl with orange chicken and I got about maybe 10 pieces of chicken. Been coming here all my life. This used to be the best place to get Chinese food. I don't know what happened but the food sucks. Only reason they get 2 stars from me cause the chicken Teriyaki is always on point. The soup was luke warm didn't have no real flavor to it. The Mongolian been was oily and bland and left a grease coating in my mouth. No where near as good as it used to be. And the chucks was huge like they don't even care. Don't get me started on the "fried rice". Wasn't nothing fried about it. Just covered in some oil and had the nerve to put a little crumb on scrambled egg in there. No peas or carrots. Called it the "house fried rice. What a joke. Then the serviced suck. Came in last Saturday night NO ONE was there. Had to fill up our own water cups several times. Get our own straws. Didn't come check on us not one time till it was time for the check and at 14.99 you can go across the street at the sears mall and get more for your money. Leave them alone. read more

Tried their dinner combo (breaded almond chicken and broccoli chicken) and like many previous reviews, the food came out lukewarm. The food was definitely sitting in the lamp or in the fridge. Come on, if you gonna warm something up at least do it so that we can't figure it out. Stick it in the microwave like 5 minutes or something. The egg flower soup is way too salty with very small portion of egg and tofu. The food taste good but i just hate the fact that the food wasn't prepared fresh. I won't be back. read more

After trying a few things I've decided they are on of the Worst places to dine - definitely worst Chinese food. Rice not only tastes pre-made but sometimes 3 days old. I've tried Mongolian beef, Teriyaki chicken, tempura veggies (worst tempura ever!!) and Beef Short ribs. Nothing tastes fresh or remotely good. Should have read the reviews before coming here. I ordered the dinner combo with fried rice, chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken. Fried rice is just white rice with some veggies thrown in. Chicken was just ok, but smothered in neon sauce. Food came abnormally fast. Chow mein was spaghetti noodles with watery sauce. Our server was really nice though, so they get that. read more

We discovered this restaurant several months ago. We ordered from them a half dozen times. The service seemed below average but the food was average and reasonably priced. Recently we ordered several Mongolian Beef dinners which when opened emitted an extremely overwhelming ammonia odor. We thought that we were going to get sick just from smelling it. None of it was eatable and it went in the trash. Why would a restaurant soak its food in ammonia? We found this experience to be unacceptable. I remember eating here all the time with my family when I was a kid and loving it. Now that I'm in college, I decided to try it again. This by far was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I ever received. I didn't even dine there. All I did was order for delivery. The lady on the phone was obviously busy, but that was no excuse to be rude. She had such a bad attitude and rushed my order. 50 minutes later, I called to follow up on my order. It was the same lady, but even ruder than before. After I said thank you, she quickly said BYE and hung up the phone, which is how she ended the first phone call. By the time the food arrived, the driver had the audacity to ask for a tip. Like I said, worst customer service experience I've ever had, and I've had my share. I thought the food would make up for it, but the teriyaki chicken was mediocre at best, and the chicken chow mein lacked any sort of taste whatsoever. Pretty good. The spicy sesame chicken doesn't have much flavor though. Am pretty angry at the pork fried rice however. I was charged $2 extra to have pork fried rice instead of plain fried rice with my meal and all it was was plain fried rice with 6 small pieces of pork sprinkled on top. Best chinese I have ever had... and it's in Alaska!! It has more awards than Bush has critics and it is so authentic. USA Today rated it as one of the top 10 restaurants in AMERICA!!!! Ordered online for delivery today. Online said it would take 1 hour to 1 hr 45 min. I got a call an hour later saying that they were processing my order and it would be an hour to an hour 45 minutes. I told them I had placed my order an hour ago already and noted the time stamp on the email confirmation, their excuse was, "Meh we've had slow internet today." No apology. My wife and I dined here last night and we were almost thoroughly disappointed. First of all, the table and menus were not clean. The menus had grime and finger-goo all over them. The service was OK and fairly quick, but it wasn't as "inviting" as we'd liked. I ordered two Kirin beers, one for each of us, and we were brought bottles with no glasses, but the wait person left the table before we could ask. My wife was able to flag somebody down for a glass, yet only one was brought to the table. What kind of service is that? (I later got a glass for my beer, and THAT was enjoyable.) The rice was served on a plate! My wife, who is Chinese, has NEVER seen that before. Rice should always be served in a bowl so it can retain its heat and moisture. The appetizer of Chinese BBQ pork and dumplings: 4 small slices of the pork and roughly the same number of (small) dumplings: $8.95. They were good, but we felt ripped off. The dinner: Szechuan beef, was bland and didn't have much meat; the almond chicken was a ketchupy sticky, over-breaded mess, bland, flavorless. It makes my stomach cringe when I wonder what that sauce was made of. We thought that since this place had won all these awards that it would be more than half decent. My wife thinks they changed hands somewhere along the way and have fraudulently kept the trophies of the previous owners on display. We will not go back here. read more
