Our go to spot while visiting Anchorage. They have the friendliest staff and great food.

Service is great with very friendly staff but some of the food had odd aftertastes. I didn't go to the restroom but the dining area was clean. Rangoons and egg rolls were good. The chicken and beef dishes were a bit rubbery. The egg drop soup was good but the hot and sour wasn't. The Mongolian bbq was flavorful which was great. If the price was more reasonable I think this would be a solid Mongolian bbq option in Anchorage but at $27 for dinner and a drink it is lacking. I think Twin Dragon is far better from a quality and price point. China lights is a better buffet and similarly priced with sushi but no Mongolian bbq option. read more

I saw a lot of mixed reviews but I'm so hungry and this is the first place I saw while driving They offer a variety of dishes, including Honey Sesame Chicken, Mongolian BBQ Deluxe, and Lo Mein Noodles. The service is generally considered friendly, and the buffet-style dining allows a good selection of items. Nice Mongolian BBQ with a small Chinese buffet attached is a good way to describe this place. If you're famished and need to take down a couple of noodle bowls, this is the place to throw down. If your kids are picky eaters like one of mine, it can be hard to make their plate worth it, but my wife and I will definitely be back. The ladies tending the tables were nice, and the fella working behind the grill sauces your noodle bowl for you. Also, the bowl you eat out of is larger than the bowl you assemble with. Nice cozy place, perfect for the really cold Alaskan days and nights. Maybe not great for a fancy date, but perfect for a quiet get-together with the people you love. read more

First thing you see is posted on the door and every table you waste food they will charge you an extra $7.00. They only do buffet and all the warming trays were not up to temperature, so everything was Luke warm. The items are marked nicely so you knew what they are, but the sauces were all heavy and sweet, no spicy at all in the Kung Pow chicken. Nothing good to share about the rest either. And we had scroungy live plants in the window sill that were mostly dead and dirty. Not going back. read more

Bathroom small and needed to be fixed. Food was okay but I hated the chicken. It had a hint of curry flavor. Ladies there were pretty nice, clearing empty plates quickly. There was a $7 fee for leftover food. This is the first buffet I've been to that charges this fee. Though I hate to waste food, I thought this fee was unreasonable as a lot of the food was not to my liking. Soup bowls were too little. Ice cream machine could've been fixed. My husband and I went to Ding How and both got one bowl of the Mongolian BBQ. We ate the majority of our bowls, but my husband had about 1/4 of his bowl left. We asked if we could take it with us, and the host said she would have to charge us $7. I said "don't worry about it, just leave it then." She said "I am still going to charge you for wasted food." I said "wait, we didn't get a bunch of food. We got one bowl each, which should be covered in the charge for the buffet. We didn't get seconds, we didn't get anything from the food bar. So you're telling me, if we don't eat every morsal, you charge another $7.00+ per person." She said "Sorry." I told her "We'll pay your $7, but we won't come back." What they're doing is deceptive. They advertise an "all you can eat" buffet, then penalize you financially if you don't eat every bite on your plate. There is no way to know how much you'll get through before you are full. Again, I understand trying to keep waste down, and charging extra to those who get multiple plates, or go back multiple times, but we didn't waste any food. We got one bowl each, didn't go back for seconds, ate all we could from our one bowl, and only had a small bit left over. They are taking advantage and price gouging their customers, and it is despicable, and likely goes against Alaska's consumer protection laws (who I will be making a call to today). We won't go back. We don't frequent establishments that take advantage of their customers. read more

For a long time, Ding How wasn't my favorite. Their buffet is mediocre, from the sesame chicken to the egg rolls. However, their Mongolian BBQ is fire! The chef who has been there for years and is usually there when I've gone is fantastic. He makes the Szechuan rich and flavorful and adds exactly the amount of spiciness requested. Not to be forgotten, everyone there (especially the chef) is very friendly. I will say that if you select larger broccoli florets you can expect them to be undercooked - win some and lose some, right? Came to this spot at the recommendation of a friend, I've never had Mongolian BBQ. When you first walk in you feel like you're in the typical Chinese restaurant. Same Asian decor and such. They do have the obligatory Chinese buffet. What's different about this place if you can get the stir fry styled dish if your choosing. You pick the meat, vegetables, sauce etc and they put it on a huge cooking platform and toss it with what appears to be giant chopsticks. What comes out of this is fresh stir fry to your tastes and design. Very interesting place to eat to say the least. The staff was all very accommodating and the place is clean and seemed to be well stocked. Food tasted very good. Needless to say I will be back to this gem. read more

This place used to be pretty good. My family visited them last night for dinner and the food was not fresh, the person on the grill didn't clean it between bowls so all the noodles tasted horrible, not one of the 3 of us was able to eat it. The price was outrageous at $25 a person. They want to charge $7 for wasted food, after you've already paid for the food, now you have to pay again even if it wasn't edible? This is your standard Mongolian Barbecue and Chinese Buffet joint. This place is on Muldoon right near base, so its usually bustling with military folks and their families. The food is good, and the people are nice that run the place. Friendly staff, and good service (even if its just pouring drinks) This place is perfect if you're wanting to eat somewhere fairly quick with the family before going to see a movie. I have 4 check ins at Ding How but I have to admit to have been here more than 4 times. The Mongolian bar is just amazing! The meat option is beef, chicken, and pork. They have tons of veggies such as green beans, bean sprouts, mushroom, chestnuts, green peppers, and more. The fellas at the round grill knows how to hook it up - I have to remind them that I like it "Asian" spicy. Plus, their Chinese buffet is always fresh and hot with good selection of dishes (and that's what their competition Twin Dragon is lacking IMO). They serve two type of soups: hot and sour and egg drop which is both decent. These people are thieves. They automatically add gratuity like Its their right. I'm here to tell you it is NOT. And when asked to remove the added gratuity they refused. So I drove there to find it open with all kinds of pandemic-related changes. I was about to pay for my order when the Korean lady tried to explain to me they don't take online orders - pointing to a spot next to the credit card machine where a computer might have gone. I don't typically go into buffets with high expectations, I usually like them as an opportunity to try things I haven't had before or for cheap belly filling. Even with my low expectations, Ding How was incredibly....meh. No prices posted, no noodles at the bbq, and mixed quality buffet food. My husband and I were greeting with the heavy smell of the grill, like they had just thrown some coals on, and a brief "first booth." We put meat and veggies in our Mongolian BBQ bowls and then realized there were no noodles - what? We put the bowls down to ask the grill masters, but they threw the stuff on the grill before we could finish asking & we didn't want to seem like we were trying to dine and dash or something so we accepted the noodleless bowls. The barbecue was pretty standard quality, except I definitely got some stuff from somebody else's bowl mixed into mine. I mixed it with rice noodles from the buffet and it was pretty good! Unfortunately, that's the only thing I tried from the buffet. They don't have prices posted anywhere, but they do have signs at every single table saying there will be a $7/person charge for wasted food, so I was too scared to try unknown things. Went back for a second helping of rice noodles & my husband got some sweet and sour soup, but we should have just left after the bbq. Instead, we left with a poor taste in our mouths (literally). The second batch of rice noodles was partially crunchy and tasted really heavily of a grill (almost like grill cleaner), and my husband's soup only tasted like vinegar. I had a fantastic experience at Ding How. I'm visiting Anchorage from Los Angeles and was in the mood for some Mongolian BBQ. Upon entering Ding How, I was met with a friendly welcome from waitstaff and immediately felt at ease in the warm, comfortable ambiance of a bustling, well-loved local restaurant. My BBQ dish was amazing, BETTER than my go-to spot in LA. Service was excellent- attentive but not overbearing, my water glass was never more than 1/2 empty! As far as buffets go in Anchorage, this is my favorite one. The reason for the three stars is because one out of three times that I come here the food isn't super fresh. If you want super fresh food you need to be there when they open. This past time I went they seemed to have taken the crab rangoon and desserts off their line. They do not have lunch prices on the weekends. There kiddos at at least the age of 4/5 is only $4.95 which is pretty awesome. I'm starting to get a bit stingy with my stars as places are really starting to go downhill and provide low quality food but still are raising their prices. I will update my review if they impress me more on my next visit. read more

I don't know who CY is or who they think they are but in the 3 years I've been to Ding How, I haven't had a bad meal OR bad service. Maybe they don't have Louvre quality artwork but I've always enjoyed the ambiance and it's always clean. My family and I are always treated really well, even when they're busy. I came here for Mother's Day with my bf & I wasn't very impressed. Both my bf & I were excited to try this place out but we left disappointed. There weren't a variety of options to choose from & majority of the food that were there weren't very appetizing. I had almost everything & my bf tried almost all their soups, nothing appealed to us.
