If you like Americanized Chinese food, Panda Express is the best restaurant for you! Every time, I come to Panda Express, I always leave extremely satisfied. The quality of food in the different chains is usually pretty consistent throughout. I was feeling pretty hungry today, so I decided to get two plates for myself. One plate had white rice with two entrees of Teriyaki Chicken while the other plate had chow mein with Beijing Beef and the Sweetfire Chicken Breast. My personal favorite would definitely have to be the Beijing Beef. It has a really delicious, spicy taste along with a nice crispy texture. I also liked the Sweetfire Chicken Breast. It was a great combination of sweet and spicy flavors. I am not sure why the reviews for this particular chain are very low. All of my food came out perfectly, and I did not have to wait long in line. The team at Panda Express is very efficient and effective. read more

This Panda Express was my first and will be my only Panda Express experience. The employees were friendly. It was clean inside. The price seemed expensive for fast food. The food tasted okay--certainly not much better or worse than Austin Chinese restaurants. The food was rather oily so I will avoid it in the future. If you eat here, get iced tea to help break down the oil. I only got water. The coolest thing was the water cup has the Chinese character for water on it. They were packed during the lunch hour with few seats available. I came here out of whim but a friend likes Panda Express so I was always curious about it. Ryan hit it dead on. There is no way this concept should work. Unless your a flabby girly men Americans like all of us give or take a few. My wife warned me; but I was short on cash after some Pappa (sito/deaux) damage over the last week so I gave it a shot. The alternatives in the vicinity were Jack in the Box so I chose the lesser of two grease outlets. My cashew chicken wasn't horrid so I'll give it a star. The fried rice was a bit crunchy and needed some serious help from 13 sauces (they have 2) so no help there. The chicken egg roll (dark/white sorta meat) was acceptable as was the egg drop soup. Food is always coming out fresh at this location. Its pretty busy so things can slow to a crawl during lunch but never had a bad experience. Dont get bother getting the brown rice. Not enough people order it so when i ordered it, the pot was full but the rice was hard and dry. read more

Let this be a review comparing this Panda Express to an ideal Panda Express. Obviously you don't go to Panda Express to be blown off your socks with amazing service or food. You basically come for a quick run for Americanized Chinese food. Service: I don't recommend going through the drive-thru lanes. Three reasons: 1-Chances are the staff may hear your order wrong. 2-There is plenty of parking space 3-The drive-thru lanes can get pretty long. The workers do yell orders to each other and appear very busy. When they do get to you they are friendly. Don't expect to be pampered at a fast-food place. Food: For a quick bite.. Panda is my go to place. The food isn't the freshest, the best tasting nor the cheapest.. but its easy and simple. You get to sample their food and from there build your own combo plate. I do notice that they never have cheese ragoons ready. I don't mind because I can eat my own food and they usually bring the ragoons to my table within a few minutes. Atmosphere: The kitchen is a bit chaotic at times, but inside the dinning area it is really chill and quiet with people conversing. The place isn't shady with anyone going to attack you or your car. The place actually looks quite nice and built not too long ago. Overall: Lets just say as an Asian growing up with real authentic Chinese and Vietnamese food and not having a problem with Panda Express says something about their food. Now if they claimed to be authentic rather than gourmet Chinese food then I would have a problem. Panda Express food is the same everywhere, but this location is really slow on the uptake. Every time I've been there it seems to take a really long time to get my food. The most baffling part is I've never seen more than 4 customers there at a time, and there always appears to be a lot of employees working at the time. I'm dead serious, the employees actually outnumber the customer (which anyone in retail or food service can tell you is pretty rare), and in spite of being overstaffed it takes forever to get you food. The employees are good otherwise. They're as friendly and professional as you'd expect from a chain Chinese food restaurant. No complaints on that aspect of the service, they just need to step their speed game up a bit. read more

They close the doors at 9:30 when they close at 10:00 and when I went through the drive through they only had 5 of the entrees available. Extremely unprofessional, I doubt the owner knows it's being run in this manner. read more

OK, I really do like the concept of panda express. However, and this is probably an issue with most Asian fast food restaurants, the food is too salty, to oily, and too frantically fast. Bad stripmall "chinese" Food. Good god. Has Anyone in Austin eaten good chinese food? Obviously by the choices offered in our city, the answer is NO. The food here is like those Chun King frozen dinners from the 70-80's - BAD. the service is a complete joke. Worst Panda I've ever been to. Slow doesn't even begin to describe how bad the service here is. I ordered two entrees, both of which were empty when I arrived and had to be cooked fresh. The first entree only took about 7 minutes to cook. I completely finished eating my first entree and side in about 15 minutes, in those 15 minutes, they hadn't even started cooking my second entree yet, nor did they have any plans to start any time soon. 22 minutes after I arrived, and my food wasn't ready. I finally left. I had already paid, and had no second entree to show for it. This Panda steals money from you by attrition, eventually you will just give up and leave, and they will still have your money. No apology, no refund. Will never come back to this Panda. read more

My general review strategy is to review things based on what they are - so if the experience I had at Panda Express was great albeit inauthentic and the service was good, I would unquestionably give it a good rating. Unfortunately when my roommates and I wanted something fast and remembered this Panda is across the street, we went through the drive through and not only was the food cold and limp but they messed up two of the orders and were remarkably unfriendly when we had to go back and have them give us the rest of our food. This is the homogenized "American" version of Chinese food. And yet I find myself here every two or three weeks (generally hung over), and I'm just never dissatisfied. I've tried a number of the dishes here, and they've all worked out. The portions are fairly generous, and six bucks will get you out the door with a veritable feast. I am not too big a fan of Panda Express, but sometimes when you gots that craving for Asian American food, this is the quickest way to go. I like the fact you can switch your rice to fried rice, noodles... or mixed veggies, which is what I always go for. Schwing! I do like that they are always clean and you get to see them cook your food, so you know they aren't spitting it... while they're cooking that is. And for the most part, the food is rather fresh. This was by far the worst panda express I've ever been to, in my life, first off the woman who is taking her order told us to be quiet about four times while we were in the middle of talking to trying to tell her our order finally when she was ready to take her order, she was rushing us through it and then said pull up to the next window, we had forgotten to order one of our items. When we explained this to her she said well that's too bad you're just gonna have to go round the line again and when we asked if there was a manager, she said no there's no manager just myself, Sonia I am the shift change leader, and then another woman who was helping at the front also was extremely rude, telling us that we were being rude by holding up the line by asking about our order which they took incorrectly in the first place, and had the rudeness to be rushing us through taking our order because they are understaffed or whatever shorthanded I don't know just being slow regardless the customer service there sucks, and I would not recommend it to anyone read more

I don't know what caused me to head for fast food Chinese last night, but I thought it was a good call for some late night grub. Normally Panda Express is pretty darn good as far as fast food is concerned. Sure real Chinese is better, but late night drive thru can't be beat. Or so I thought. Disappointing. I realize this is 'fast food' Chinese, but a girl can dream... I'm not the biggest Panda fan, but I do love their Walnut Shrimp with Chow Mein. Panda is about 1/8 mile from my office so I ventured into the drive thru line in hopes of making it a quick trip. I sat in the line with only 2 cars in front of me for over 20 minutes. With 10 minutes to spare, I got back to my desk in hopes of scarfing down my overpriced, under portioned lunch. Unfortunately for me, my chow Mein was burnt. And, not physically burnt. It looked great, but smelt and tasted like burnt plastic. :/ I figured it wasn't a huge deal as I'm trying to cut back on carbs anyway. Then, I tried my shrimp and it tasted like sweet vinegar... I asked to use the bathroom that had temporarily out if order sign on it. Once I saw an employee come out of it. I asked the employee if the bathroom was operational and he said it was. I was told that the bathroom was not abro customers. The manager even said that there wasn't a reason other that the owner wanted it that way. There was another employee that came out after the manager wouldn't come back out to talk with me and she was just rude. She told me if I wanted to use the restroom. I could come back tomorrow. Well let me tell you what. I thought I had found Austin's best asia food experience when I went to Buffet Kingdom down on Westgate and 71, but golly was I ever a horses ass for thinking so! This Panda express is the absolute best asia food I have ever eaten. Not only was the food amazing, but the atmosphere and decorations made me feel like I was actually in Chinaland! Anyways, I ordered what I order at every asia food place to see if it's worth a holler, sweet and soured pork mixed into orange chicken on top of some eggrolls and a bowl of misso soup poured on top like thin gravy (hold the vegetables!) I can usually tell when a place wont be good when they don't do my special order, but wouldn't you know it, they did it just how mama likes it! Now this fine dinin' on a budget isn't for everyone, I understand some of ya'll out there don't understand amazing food when you eat it. But believe me, you order what I always get and you bring a bottle of homemade skittle infused Alizé Wild passion with you, and you will never want to eat asia food anywhere else! read more

This location can get very busy at lunch time, especially inside. My favorite entree is the Beijing Beef. It's got the great balance between spicy and just a little bit of sweet. The orange chicken is also tasty, but it is very sweet, and sometimes you crave a little spice. Neither of these are especially waistline friendly when eaten regularly so I mix in another, healthier entree on occasion, the string bean chicken. It's pretty good and it's healthier because there's no breading, just grilled chicken. The way to make it really good is to put their hot sauce on it. It comes in ketchup like packs and tastes like Sriracha sauce. It gives it that kick of spice that really raises the dish to another level. I have had good experiences with the staff, both inside and at the drive thru. read more

Went through the drive thru yesterday and was blown away by the amazing, friendly service from Mike at the window!!! He was very sweet and definitely brightened up my day with his great communication and smile. Through no fault of his own, my chicken had about 4 more mins until it was done and he apologized profusely for it and asked me if I wanted to substitute it for something else or wait. I opted to wait. He hand delivered my food with his huge smile and another apology. Seriously, hats off to Mike at the window.. Someone should promote him to manager!! This Panda Express has the SLOWEST drive through, it's mind boggling. I actually had to park because I was not gonna wait in that line at 8 pm. I'm starting to think these employees don't work fast enough and it causes back ups. If there was another Panda close to my school, I'd go there instead of this one. read more

Absolute Worst Management We arrived to a line almost out of the door. Some people were canceling their order and some were waiting for what seem to be everything except the rice or noodles. We get up there and the staff was nice but running around like crack heads. Management was hanging out at lunch while the workers were scrambling. My wife had to wait 10 minutes for orange chicken are u serious. I had to wait 20 for my teriyaki chicken. Not to mention that our rice portions were for kids. read more
