LOVE this place - I used to live in Korea and when I'm craving Korean fried chicken this place HITS. My only issue is the limited veggie side dish options - they have pickled radish which I love but I really wish they also had kimchi or some other veg based side dishes!! Great food and great customer service! I was looking for something close to the hotel and this spot popped up on yelp. The chicken looked amazing so I figured I would give them a shot and I am glad I did! I was greeted by two very nice ladies working there. Very personable and nice. The food was simply amazing. This was my wife and I's first visit--it was a weekday evening, around 6 PM or so and the restaurant wasn't too busy. We were able to be seated right away. The restaurant itself isn't very large inside so any parties greater than 4 should be aware that this spot might not be able to accommodate quickly if it's super busy. For dinner we shared Galbi-flavored wings: sweet, savory and smoky flavors with green onions and sesame seed garnish. I almost asked for ranch on the side but these wings didn't need them with the flavor they were bringing. We were impressed. I believe we ordered a 9-piece and that was enough for 2, unless you're super hungry. On the side we ordered and shared "Cheesling Fries." They were surprisingly sweet with the cheese on top giving off a "powdered" texture--kind of reminded me of the white cheddar popcorn they sell at the grocery store. Both were very flavorful and neither of them were particularly spicy (at least in my opinion as a south Asian who can handle spice LOL). I did prefer the spicy Galbi flavor wise. We've ate at this chain restaurants twice at this location and many times in other states. Service was good. The wings were extremely small. Come on owner stop skimping out on regular size wings and get the jumbo size. The wing was not crispy at all which is really disappointing. The waitress recommend a Sichuan flavor which she said was going to be discontinued soon. First let me say, I live AT LEAST a 30 minute drive from this place. But I've been craving KFC for weeks and finally broke down. After a 2 hour workout yesterday I figured I'd earned it darn it! So I decided to make the trek for what I hoped would be an unbelievable fried chicken experience. First, I'm well acquainted with the cute strip mall it resides in. I got there early so I decided to take advantage and browse the Daiso that's next door. Great idea because with all the time I was able to kill in there, by the time I walked out I was getting a text that my order was ready. Sadly, I didn't get pictures or a feel for the environment of the restaurant being that my order was sitting waiting on the counter. As I stated, with the long drive time was of the essence...And let me tell you, it was the hardest drive I've made in a while! The smell of the freshly made chicken filled my car making my stomach growl. The anticipation killed me the whole way home (and IH35 sucked). I almost couldn't contain myself after making home but I was able to snap a few pics before digging in. I bought a whole chicken half original half hot spicy, galbi wings and 1 pickled radish. First let me tell you, I had an abundance of radish because I must have missed that orders come with some. No matter because the radish was probably my second favorite thing! I tried a piece of each chicken flavor and let me tell you...THIS CHICKEN IS GREAT. I can only imagine if I had eaten in the restaurant and been able to try it completely fresh. Even after the drive it was still crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The flavors were explosive. Each one was addicting in its own way. The hot spicy is HOT. I'm a lover of all things spicy and this took me by surprise. Beware, it's a lot. But still retained the ability to not be just heat. There was still a lot of great flavor to the chicken. The galbi was crispy, sticky, sweet and savory and very addictive. But the best by far was the original. I can't describe the flavor burst, the juicy meat and the perfect crunch (but not so much that it hurts the soft palate of your mouth). The original is what chicken SHOULD be. I cannot express how satisfied I was after eating this meal. With all that said, I do think $60 for chicken, no matter how good, is too much. I just can't in good conscience pay that price for fried chicken. It seems absurd. While I can rave about how delicious it is, I can't say that ANY fried chicken is worth that price. So I'm not too sure how often I'd be back. But if you've got some money to blow on a splurge then I'd say it won't be wasted here. read more

Both are flavors that I would get again - However, the chicken had too much breading, and wasn't too crispy. We were the only new customers in the entire place, and expected fresher, fried chicken that is straight from the deep fryer. The chicken didn't seem to hold its' crisp as well as other KFC places, and very quickly turned soggy after a few bites. Soggy and bready, not exactly the best combination. I love that you can get whole chicken, wings, or boneless pieces and there are tons of sauces to choose from. I've tried all the chicken types and they are all fantastic. We typically stick with our favorite traditional Spicy Galbi sauce (a little sweet, a little sour, a little garlicky) but they all look tasty and there are many options that aren't spicy. Our latest visit for for a Sunday date night Korean street food crawl around the Crescent complex. There is so much good food on this block, so come hungry! Our fave stop of the evening was for a medium basket of crunchy Spicy Galbi boneless nuggets washed down with a shared bottle of Jinro Chamisul Fresh Soju. Service is very good and consistent with the bbq chicken locations I've experienced in San Antonio. However, for some reason their menu prices here are about $1 more. I ordered the half-spicy and half traditional chicken. Their portions were about 50% more than what I got in San Antonio. And they served bone-in pieces I could identify easily... they didn't skimp on the spicy sauce! Definitely worth the extra $1 on their prices!! ... I think they need to send someone to check on the San Antonio area. 4 stars for this location. Their bbq chicken is delicious and price-to-portion is good (compared to other locations). Haven't had Korean Fried Chicken in Austin and was glad to have landed at bbq chicken! The place was pretty empty when we arrived on a Thursday evening at around 7pm and got seated and greeted right away. My husband and I ordered a medium (9 pcs) of bone-in wings, Galbi flavor, an order of Cheesling Fries and two water bottles (which I thought was interesting, we didn't get charged for them though which was nice!). The fries came out first and were different and didn't know what to think at first, but then I couldn't stop going after them. The cheesling dust/seasoning was sweet and savory, almost reminded me of the Sour Cream & Onion flavor Lays, and I loved it! They could've been more crispy, but it was fine! Also, they didn't need the ketchup. Maybe 10ish minutes later the wings arrive, and they look beautifully crispy and smothered in sauce, but didn't want to get too excited because what if the bite and flavor didn't match the appearance of deliciousness? UM YES IT DID. That crisp is perfect, worth the wait, and the flavor was good too - Smokey at first then all the sweetness and tangyness afterwards. Is there a Spicy option? A stronger kick would have been nice. Overall we had a great time at bbq chicken, the only thing that could've made this experience better was if they allowed you to include two flavors in your medium order, sure I'll pay the extra $1? Ambiance was chill too, music in the background, tvs all over, probably not the greatest spot for large groups? I had bb.q chicken back in Carrollton Texas last month, and it was so good that I kept bugging my fiance to pick some up for me for this location. I ordered us the Steamed Rice, Rose Ddeok-Bokki, Honey Garlic Boneless Wings, and the Gangnam Style Boneless Wings for pickup at 5:45pm. By the time my fiance got to and from traffic back to Kyle it was about 7:00pm, and the food was still nice and warm! First off the customer service is AMAZING!!! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. This was my first time here btw. My friend came from Houston to visit and we were looking for a chill place that wouldn't be too busy/big. And the pictures and the fact that Korean fried chicken is I stumbled across this place I forget the name of the wings I got but it's the one on the picture with all the peppers (but it wasn't spicy at all or I have a high tolerance) I had to ask for their spiciest sauce to spruce it up. I give mine a 5/10; but my date got the honey garlic and they were a 10/10!!! Ohhhh and the sweet potato fries were magic!! They came out fast as hell and I was joking that they were too damn hot!! Like they literally stayed freshly HOT even after we were done with our wings lol (about 20 minutes) they give you complimentary bottled water which I find very considerate. Only bad thing I have to say is this is the only place that won't allow you to take your alcoholic beverages with you to go. Other than that this place gets a 9.5/10...ohh and the give you the pickled relish for free instead of "unsaid" spots makes you pay for it separately. Definitely coming back!!!! We ordered take out of the medium (9 wings) Soy garlic wings and medium (9 wings) Honey garlic wings, and fried waffle fries. My sister liked the soy garlic wings and I liked the honey garlic wings. The waffle fries was nothing special and was a bit oily. The waffle fries does not air fry well the next day because it was so oily. The wings were crispy even though it doesn't look like it. The soy garlic wings in my onion lacked flavor and was one note. The honey garlic wings was on the sweeter side but also was one note. Both wings lacked the garlicky taste. The wings were juicy inside and cooked properly. The wings also didn't air fry well for next day left over meal. For that reason and the flavor profile is why I rated 3 stars. The service was great and their estimated time for when pick up was really was on point. Would I recommend this place? If you're in a pinch and want wings... this may be your place but Hi wings is still my favorite k wings. I personally wouldn't return to this place. read more
